Chapter 5 - Baby devil (5)

It was a warm summer afternoon when Shikimori decided to explore the far reaches of the Juma Forest. She had been wandering for hours when she heard a faint whimpering sound coming from a nearby thicket. Intrigued, she pushed aside the branches and bushes and found a small, fragile creature lying on the ground, its body twisted in agony.

Upon closer inspection, Shikimori saw that it was a baby devil, one of the rarest and most elusive creatures in the entire forest. She knew that they were often hunted for their magical properties and that many humans feared and despised them for their association with dark magic. But Shikimori saw only a helpless and innocent creature in pain, and her heart was filled with compassion.

Without hesitation, Shikimori picked up the baby devil and cradled it in her arms. She could feel its small body trembling with fear and pain, and she knew that she had to help it. She examined the wounds and saw that they were deep and severe and that the baby devil's wings had been badly injured. Shikimori knew that she had to act quickly to save its life.

Using her knowledge of healing magic, Shikimori set to work on the baby devil's wounds. She used herbs and salves to soothe its pain and cast spells to mend its broken bones and torn flesh. For hours, she worked tirelessly, determined to save the life of this innocent creature.

As the sun began to set, the baby devil's wounds had finally been healed. Shikimori held it up and saw that its eyes were bright and clear, and its wings were starting to flutter. Overcome with emotion, Shikimori knew that she had done the right thing and that she had formed a bond with this strange and wondrous creature.

From that day on, the baby devil became Shikimori's constant companion. It followed her wherever she went, and together, they explored the Juma Forest and all its secrets. She named the baby devil, Inori. Shikimori had found something more precious than gold or jewels - a friend who had needed her and whom she had saved from the darkness of the forest.

In the end, Shikimori's kindness and compassion had not only saved the life of a helpless creature, but had also taught her the true meaning of adventure - that it was not about finding treasure or defeating monsters, but about finding love and friendship in the most unexpected
