Shikimori had been wandering through the woods for hours, her arms and legs growing tired from carrying the weight of the firewood she had gathered. Winter was fast approaching and she needed to stock up on enough wood to keep her warm during the long, cold nights. She trudged through the thick brush, scanning the ground for any signs of dry, dead branches that she could add to her pile.
As she walked, she suddenly heard the sound of rushing water. Curious, she followed the noise until she came upon a small river, its waters flowing swiftly over rocks and fallen logs. It was then that she saw something floating down the river, a scrap of paper that caught her eye.
Without hesitation, Shikimori waded into the river, her clothes quickly becoming soaked through as she tried to catch the floating page. After a few tense moments, she managed to grab hold of it and pulled it up out of the water. As she looked down at the damp paper, she realized with a start that it was the very page that she had been searching for.
It was a ritual page, a powerful incantation that was said to give the user control over the devil king's power. The ritual was named Cifaro, and it was said to be so potent that it could even control the king of all devils. Shikimori had heard rumors of the ritual, but had never been able to find the page herself. Until now.
Excitement surged through her veins as she looked down at the page, the words scrawled across it in a strange, ancient language. She knew that this was her chance to gain the power she needed to protect herself from the dangers of the forest. With the power of CIFARO, she would be invincible.
But as she looked down at the page, three different strategies were described:
The first was the feminine demon Lamia, followed by Necromancy and black slashes. Shikimori must adhere to the rules and the condition is that she will pass the magic on to another human or other creature after 12 years and after 12 years, SHE'LL DIE.
She felt a sense of foreboding creep over her. The ritual was powerful, but it was also dangerous. It required the sacrifice of a human soul, a price that Shikimori wasn't sure she was willing to pay.
She stood there in the river for what felt like hours, torn between the desire for power and the fear of what that power might cost her. In the end, she made her decision. She carefully folded the page and tucked it into her bag, then turned and made her way back to her cabin, where she would spend the night pondering her next move.
