Rohan woke up in his hut, admiring the familiar ceiling. Stretching and letting out a yawn, he savored the pleasant sleep he had just experienced. However, a question lingered in his mind. "Am I really back in my hut?" he wondered, uncertain about the reality of his recent encounter at the mysterious fortress and his conversation with Shani Dev. Doubts arose as he contemplated whether it was all merely a dream.
Sitting up, Rohan swung his legs over the edge of the bed and made his way outside. Something felt different this time. Stepping out of the hut, he was met with a heartwarming sight. The gloomy village he once knew had transformed into a lively place, with villagers conversing happily and enjoying each other's company. It was evident that they were no longer living in fear of the bandits. A smile graced Rohan's face as he observed the newfound joy among the villagers.
Leaving his own hut, Rohan headed towards Agnes' hut. As he approached, Agnes noticed his arrival and spoke up, "Rohan, you finally woke up! You suddenly collapsed last night. Are you feeling better now?"
"Yes, Uncle Agnes. I was just..." Rohan's words trailed off as his eyes widened at the strange sight in front of him. A semi-transparent panel had materialized, displaying detailed information about Agnes.
Name: Agnes Hunt
Species: Human
Age: 48
Strength: 31
Agility: 27
Stamina: 29
Relation: Positive (92%)
Startled, Agnes looked at him strangely and inquired, "What is it? Is something wrong?"
"Uncle, can't you see what's in front of me?" Rohan asked, puzzled by Agnes' obliviousness.
Confused, Agnes responded, "What are you talking about? Are you still half-asleep? It's alright, go and get some more rest."
Rohan realized that Agnes couldn't perceive the panel. "Never mind, Uncle Agnes. What happened to the bandits?" he redirected the conversation, shifting his focus.
Agnes replied, "We have captured the bandits and locked them up in one of the empty huts. As for their hideout, when we reached there after you fainted, we found no slaves. It appears that they had already sold the slaves before they attempted to raid the village. It's a sad situation for those who were enslaved, but there's little we can do now."
Concerned for his fellow villagers, Rohan asked, "Did any of the villagers get injured during the fight with the bandits?"
"Some of them sustained scratches and cuts, and unfortunately, three lost a limb. But thankfully, no one suffered fatal wounds. They are resilient and can manage," Agnes assured him.
Rohan breathed a sigh of relief, acknowledging that the outcome could have been far worse. Considering the bandits' danger, it was a relatively positive result, even though some villagers had suffered amputations. The first battle against the bandits had claimed not only the life of Harry but also eleven others, but the villagers had managed to eliminate a couple of bandits, forcing the remaining ones to retreat.
Seeking further information, Rohan inquired, "What do we plan to do with the captured bandits?"
Agnes responded, "Now that the path to the sunlight city is clear without the bandits' presence, the villagers have decided to report them to the city chief. They will take care of the bandits and hopefully we can get a reward for capturing them."
Nodding in understanding, Rohan expressed his need for additional rest, saying, "Uncle Agnes, if you don't mind, I would like to get some more rest."
Agnes agreed, "Of course, Rohan. Take care of yourself and rest well."
Rohan nodded gratefully and returned to his hut. Closing the door behind him, he couldn't contain his excitement and called out, "Hello... system... are you there?" To his delight, a semi-transparent window appeared once again, confirming his assumption.
