Chapter 16 - Chapter 16 - The adventure begins

The next morning:

"Hello, Aunt Susan. Can I get some more bread today?"

"Sure, Rohan. Here you go." Rohan takes a couple of bread loaves from Susan and starts walking away with them without paying.

Name: Susan Snow

Species: Human

Age: 29

Strength: 18

Agility: 20

Stamina: 17

Relation: Positive (91%)

It's not that he does not want to pay for the bread, but he had already used all his copper coins long ago. However, Rohan was not an ungrateful person.

"I will definitely repay you, Aunt Susan," he mutters as he puts the bread in his inventory and walks towards Agnes' hut.

Agnes, who was walking out of his hut with an axe in his hand, saw Rohan coming towards him. "Rohan, you're up early today. Are you going to the farm?" he inquired.

"No, Uncle Agnes. Umm... I had something I wanted to tell you."

"Hmm, what is it?" Agnes asked.

"I... I want to leave the village and see the world. So, I have decided to leave today. I came here to bid my farewell to you and Aunt Betty."

"You're going out of the village?" Agnes asked, clearly surprised to hear Rohan's decision. But he was not sad.

"Good, good. Young ones should go out and see the world. I never thought our timid Rohan would grow up to be an adventurer someday. Harry would have been so happy to know this." Agnes was really happy with Rohan's decision.

"Hey, Betty, come out. Rohan is going out on an adventure. Come bid him farewell." Although Agnes only wanted to call Betty, the people in the surroundings also heard his call, and they quickly came flocking to their hut.

"Rohan, are you really going out of the village?"

"That's a good decision. He should go out and explore the world."

"But the outside world has lots of dangers. Would it be safe for him?"

"Oh, shut up, you coward. Of course, he can take care of himself. He will be fine."

Betty also came out of the hut to see Rohan standing in the middle of the villagers.

"Child, why didn't you tell us earlier that you would be leaving? I would have made something for you to eat on your way. Come and wait in my hut. I will prepare something for you to eat on the way."

"It's okay, Aunt Betty. I have already taken bread from Aunt Susan." Rohan comforted her, but Betty had none of it.

"Bread! So, you're going to eat bread on such a journey? You foolish child, just come inside and wait. I will go out and bring fresh ingredients to make something yummy for you. Dear, take him to the hut." Betty commands Agnes as she walks out of the hut.

Agnes, who was totally under his wife's control, took Rohan inside the hut. The other villagers also came with them. They started discussing their own journeys and adventures when they were young.

Some time later, Betty returned with a lot of stuff in her hands. Susan also came with her. When she saw Rohan, she came near him and hit him on the head. "Ouch!" Rohan looked at her confused.

"You fool, why didn't you tell me about your journey? I could have baked some cake for you." She demanded.

"Uh... uh..." Rohan didn't know what to say.

"Hmph..."

Susan and Betty started preparing Rohan's travel food while he was busy talking with the villagers. In the meantime, more and more villagers started coming to Agnes' hut and wished him all the best for his journey ahead.

After one hour, Susan and Betty came out of the kitchen with a bag that was emitting a rich aroma. Smelling the food, all the villagers gulped.

"Rohan, give me your travel bag. I will put the food in there." Betty asked for Rohan's bag.

"!!!" Rohan, who had put all his stuff in his inventory, finally realized he messed up.

"What happened? Where is your bag?" Betty asks again.

"I forgot the bag in my hut. I will go get it." Rohan runs back to his hut before taking out some of his stuff from the inventory and putting it in a bag.

"Here you go." Rohan gave the bag to Betty, who raised her eyebrow seeing his bag. "You decided to go on a journey with just this little food!" Betty demanded an answer.

"Ah... ahaha." Rohan, who had only put some of his stuff from the inventory into the bag, almost slapped himself on the head.

After Agnes and Rohan's pleading, Betty calmed down and put the food in Rohan's bag.

Betty didn't allow Rohan to leave without having breakfast. So, Rohan ate breakfast in their hut, and finally, it was time to leave.

"Be careful out there, okay? And come back whenever you feel like it. We will be waiting for you." Betty speaks to Rohan as all the villagers nod at her words. Rohan nods too; he felt a sting in his eyes. Rohan was an orphan in his past life, and when he arrived in this world, he had become an orphan again. Now, when he received so much affection from the villagers, his heart couldn't handle it.

"Yes, I will definitely come back." Rohan says as he waves his hands at the villagers.

"Bye-bye..."

The villagers stare at his disappearing figure as he starts his new journey.

After walking some distance, Rohan takes a glance at the village, which now appeared like a dot.

"New world, here I come."

And so, the adventure begins...
