Chereads / The millionaire's ugly secretary / Chapter 2 - Chapter 2

Chapter 2 - Chapter 2

Demetrio's eyes went wide as he looked at the woman in front of him; the smile on his face was turning into a grimace, as he realized how ungraceful she was.

"You, who are you?" he asked with a raised eyebrow, causing Eve to clench her fists behind her back.

"How do you do, sir, my name is Evangelina Anderson, I'm your new executive secretary," Eva smiled, showing her teeth clamped into the wires of her braces, as Demetrio blinked in amazement.

My grandfather is going to hear me, he thought.

"May I have your identification, please?", Demetrio asked, still incredulous at what was happening.

Definitely, the plans to take the woman to bed had gone down the drain at that moment.

Eva nervously opened her old-fashioned handbag, under the gaze of the Italian, who was detailing her from head to toe.

Evangelina's body trembled, the man in front of her was so beautiful that he made her legs shake as if they were made of jelly. With trembling hands, she held out her ID card.

Demetrio took it and gasped, if the person his eyes saw was ugly, imagine the one in that photo for the Italian to make such a fuss with his body.

"Well, Miss Evangelina," Demetrio said trying to calm down, although he was totally irritated, annoyed and euphoric. Evangelina bit her lips and looked down nervously. "Your office will be next door, there you have the earrings on the assigned laptop, you check them and start with the work. Your job is to do everything I require, both here and wherever I am, plus, bring my lunch, send my suits to the dry cleaners when strictly necessary in an emergency, and well, whatever else I tell you, it's all on your laptop, this will be your pay."

Demetrio took a pencil along with a sheet of paper, writing down the figure that Eva was going to receive for her work, since, unlike all the staff, he paid his secretaries directly, although Jenifer earned twice as much for being his mistress, the salary Eva was going to earn was very generous.

Evangelina took the paper in her hand and her eyes widened in surprise, it was definitely a very good salary, best of all, she smiled and thanked Laureti who was still looking at her in disbelief, while clenching his jaw still annoyed by his secretary.

"Well, let's get to work," he indicated arrogantly, pointing to the door behind his new secretary's back, although he wasn't entirely a brusque man, he hated the idea that his secretary didn't have the stereotypes he was used to.

Eva almost ran out and spotted a small cubicle next to her boss's large office. It was small, but comfortable, there was a table with a laptop and a folder with several papers piled up and disorganized, plus a nice sofa to rest and her own bathroom that was totally messy, it seemed that the previous secretary was very messy.

She sat down to try to organize everything, but at that moment her mind began to travel to the blue eyes and expressionless gaze of her boss, making her body shudder in a way she had never felt before.

Stop thinking nonsense Eva, you've already seen your boss, he's too handsome to notice you, she snorted heavily as she burned those words into her mind.

She adjusted her glasses and set about organizing the mountain of papers next to her. Eva was fast, the fastest at organizing, she always was in class and now she would be even faster since she would have a decent paycheck to support herself.

In less than an hour the files were sorted by date and arranged in alphabetical order, as well as arranged on a small shelf to the left of her desk.

He turned on the laptop and began to read what his duties were, there he understood the reason for such good pay, it looked like he was going to be the shadow of the millionaire, so he had to multitask a day.

Coffee without sugar at nine in the morning, hot, very hot, and not from the cafeteria. Lunch at twelve, diet only, and gluten-free, plus arranging meetings, canceling unnecessary ones or postponing them, among others that if he kept listing, he wouldn't finish.

She left her office, but not before ordering lunch for her current boss, as she was on a diet Eva thought that fish with salad and steamed potatoes would be ideal, that was what she ordered so that it would be ready at eleven fifty in the morning.

She walked out of her office and bumped into the receptionist she had spoken to on arrival, she definitely didn't fit in with the staff, as the woman in her opinion was pretty and slender, albeit with a neckline too plunging for her demure taste.

"Hi, sorry to bother you, where can I make a coffee?" Eva asked politely, looking at the huge cleavage of the blonde's breasts, which seemed about to pop out of the king blue corset she was sporting that morning.

The receptionist's gaze went from calm to one of utter distaste as she looked at her, and without any dissimulation she waved her hands dismissively, implying that the new secretary was cluttering her precious desk.

"On the hundredth floor there is a kitchen," she replied without even looking at her.

Eva was already cured of those bad gestures, the teasing and the looks of the people around her were normal, very normal, she lived it many times at school and she could bear it, if necessary, she would bear it all her life, she thought that people who hurt and pointed at others, sooner or later, were going to hurt themselves with the same dagger.

God! She sighed, having to go down forty floors to make a coffee was too exhausting, but then she thought about her remuneration and plucked up the courage to do it.

As soon as she reached the hundredth floor it was clear, it was beautiful, a cafeteria set up for the company's staff, the hardwood tables and velvet furniture gave the impression of being in the living room of a house, there were several employees seated, some drinking coffee, others talking about work with laptops and folders in their hands. Eva felt like she was living a dream, the luxury of the company was impressive, she had been lucky to be hired for something good.

She walked slowly, wanting to go unnoticed by the people who seemed like angels in that place, where she just didn't fit in, but life had other plans for Eva and it wouldn't be easy, as she walked to one of the doors at the other end where it said kitchen, she tripped over one of the chairs, falling face first to the floor, and thus causing the eyes of the executives and employees, who at that moment were engrossed in their work, to fall on her.

People began to murmur, who is this grotesque woman? Who is this woman of such bad taste? They were some of the things people began to murmur, making Eva feel a deep urge to cry.

"Can I help you?" she heard the sweet voice of a man, who, when she looked up, she could see who it was, although she didn't know him, the man's beauty was almost similar to that of her boss. Unlike the black eyes, and the neatly combed beard he wore.

"Thank you." Eva took his hand and began wiping her skirt as soon as she stood up.

"You must be Eva Anderson?" the man said looking at her with a pleasant smile, or so Eva thought at the time.

"Yes, how do you do, sir..." she thought to herself.

"Antonio Ferrer, the manager of the company, as well as the best friend of her grumpy boss." Eva opened her lips in astonishment and wiped her hands with her skirt to try to shake the hand of the red-haired man who was looking at her strangely.

"Excuse me, sir, I have been looking for the kitchen to prepare Mr. Laureti's coffee, but one gets lost here, this company is very big," she quickly explained, an act that provoked the amusement of the young manager.

"There you can do the tasks Demetrio sent you," he pointed to another cubicle next to the kitchen, where he put space for executive secretaries.

"How silly," she replied, adjusting her glasses. "Thank you, Mr. Ferrer."

"You're welcome, Eva, and Eva, anytime you want to chat, I'll be here." Eva looked at him incredulously and nodded without understanding why such a handsome young man with beautiful attributes wanted to talk to her, but she didn't take it seriously and went inside to continue with her tasks.

Definitely nothing escaped the designer of this company, she thought when she noticed the beautiful light pink cubicle, there was a small kitchen, electronic coffee makers, a variety of types of coffee, from gourmet, to cinnamon and flavored.

She took a coffee in a normal container, prepared it to leave in a hurry, she thought about taking some cookies and cupcakes, maybe her boss would like them....

When Eva left his office, Demetrio was running with the veins on his forehead highlighted, making his anger visible, so he went to his grandfather's office on the twentieth floor of that company, he was only supervising his grandson's work, as he did with his father, looking for everything to go flawlessly in that company until his death, since that man prone to inherit was making him more gray hair than he already had.

"May I know why that secretary, Andrea Laureti?", Demetrio asked his grandfather, who was checking through a huge screen the functioning of the different applications that managed the company.

"Son!" The voice of a slightly younger, but more self-centered man was heard thundering.

Demetrio looked at the two, they seemed to be conspiring against him.

"Understand you're a public figure, you can't just take any woman who crosses your path to bed, let alone your secretaries, how many years have you been sleeping with Jenny? More than four years, sorry, but Evangelina is staying and I hope your visit is not just for her, besides, the girl is smart, maybe later on, if everything goes as we think, she could be one of the engineers of the company."

Demetrio made a grimace with his lips, engineer? this one? he thought, "I'm tired of them meddling in my business", Andrea says something, he looked at the grandfather who remained motionless, having allowed Demetrio so much as a young man had turned him into the superficial being he was now, definitely, if he wanted the company to keep running as it was, the first thing was to keep away the young man's biggest distraction and that was pretty women.

"Fine," he left slamming the door, heading for his office, it bothered him too much to have to see Eva's face at that moment, but it seemed that definitely, there was nothing he could do about it for now.

He entered his office frustrated, as he grabbed his head in annoyance, he didn't understand how having to put up with an ugly secretary affected him so much, but it did and a lot.

A woman's feminine voice was heard on the other side of the door, but Demetrio was so immersed in that migraine that had started to appear in his head, that he didn't hear Evangelina's call.

"Sir, I've brought you your coffee." Eva poked her head around the door.

"You should knock, Miss Anderson," he said dismissively.

Eva was going to defend herself, but the man wouldn't even let her formulate a word and continued speaking.

"I don't like you coming into my office without asking permission, do you hear me?" he gave her an annoyed look. "I can be having sex here and you can interrupt". Eva looked at him in surprise, it seemed she was either mishearing, or her boss was talking about sex without any modesty in his words.

"I'm sorry sir I..."

"It's okay, I apologize because it's your first day on the job, but don't do it again."

Eva's face unhinged; what did this jerk think he was doing? She wasn't going to apologize, she was going to tell him that she had been knocking on the door for a while and he didn't answer.

"And bring the coffee he's five minutes late bringing it, please be more punctual." Eva could not believe what she was hearing at that moment, besides the fact that he made her wait for minutes outside, he started talking to her without understanding, he called her unpunctual.

She adjusted her glasses, bit her lips to try to placate the urge she felt to insult the sexy Greek god in front of her, as she placed the coffee on her table.

Demetrius took the coffee in his hands as he looked at Eve, trying to find some attraction besides her gray eyes that were guessed behind the glasses, there was nothing to look at, everything was covered by so many clothes.

"Aren't you hot with so many clothes?" he asked her as he took a sip of his coffee.

Eva opened her eyes wide, the intrusion of her boss left her perplexed, how dare he talk about her attire without any modesty, she was going to give him a stop, when the content of the coffee went to Eva's shirt, it was her boss who had spit out the coffee and pointed directly at her.

"This is cold, Evangelina Anderson, please bring a new one!" he ordered without even apologizing for staining Eva's shirt with coffee.

At that moment, Eva felt the great need to send that job to hell, she looked at her boss with the urge to murder him, but she tried to calm down and think about the huge overdue bills she had to pay, plus the master's degree she wanted to get and the work experience the beautiful company was giving her.

"Right away, sir," she said with a grimace as she clenched her fists.

She picked up the coffee cup and headed for his office. Demetrio had never treated any maid badly, and how? If after three days he had them in bed, but Eva was the exception, she was the cause of ruining his mission of lust, so he would pay the price.

He entered the office, and took off his coffee stained shirt, luckily he always carried a sweater in his wallet, he always thought that some emergency like that could happen to him, and indeed he was right.

"Miss Evangelina!" The door she forgot to close opened, at the precise moment Eva had taken off her shirt. "Don't bring the coffee, arrange the afternoon meetings," the man said without taking his eyes off her, his eyes were on the huge breasts barely covered by a soft cream-colored bra.

Eva covered herself as best she could, blushing, never in her twenty-five years had a man seen her almost naked.

"And don't be almost naked in your office, Evangelina, for God's sake," Demetrio said noticing the girl's flawless white skin.

Eva nodded her head, her breathing seemed to have left her system.

She sat down at her desk as soon as her boss left the office, as they tried to control her breathing and her heart that felt agitated, as if she had run a marathon.

This man is too much for you, Eva, how are you going to work with him? He's too sexy, arrogant, overbearing, besides, he's extremely handsome, she thought as she put on her new shirt.

She sat down at her desk, looked at the files from the afternoon meetings and realized that all the files were poorly organized.

My God, didn't the previous secretary work, she wondered aloud, it seemed true, the problem was that Jenifer spent more time sleeping with her boss than working, so there was little organization.

She began to organize the files, it took her over two hours to do it all, although she was fast, she couldn't work magic in the face of such a mess.

After organizing the files, she began to confirm her boss's afternoon meetings, one of those meetings was with a major Chinese phone company, she also had a meeting to purchase a cyber reading application, after confirming all the meetings, she huffed in exhaustion and leaned back in her seat, when a call brought her out of those seconds of rest.

"Yes," she replied exultantly, sounding like she had fallen asleep for a few minutes.

"Miss, the lunch you sent for at eleven fifty, it's been ready for more than an hour, are you going to want it or shall we have a new one prepared?".

Evangelina got up in a hurry, it seemed that she had heard the devil talking on the other side of the phone, although luckily the restaurant where her boss ate, who arrogantly did not do so in the company cafeteria, was just across the street, and she knew it because it said so specified between the sheets of her labors, she was more than an hour late.

"Wait for me there, miss, if I am going to want it, and if you can please warm it up, thank you", Eva hung up in a hurry and left almost running from her office, before the looks of the receptionists who looked at her puzzled by her unusual behavior, since the ethics of all employees was the maximum requirement when hiring them.

She arrived sweaty at the restaurant, luckily the girl already had the tray in her hands, well covered and warm.

"Thank you," Eva said.

Taking it in her hands, and leaving a tip of her money, out of embarrassment for having kept her waiting, even though, according to the records, the restaurant had been preparing her boss's meal for years and everything was paid for in advance.

"Sir, may I come in?" she asked impatiently.

"Go ahead," he said disdainfully Demetrio, who looked like he wanted to burst into a rage.

"I'm not eating at this hour, let alone fish, Miss Anderson," he glared at her. "I was reading your resume, and in addition to knowing two languages, including English and Spanish, according to what I read you are very intelligent, a graduate in engineering, with the best grade of the promotion, but now I see why you had not been hired in other companies, you are irresponsible," he shouted banging on the table, causing Eva's eyes to widen.

Eva's forehead was soaked with sweat, thanks to the great effort she had made to get her boss to give her lunch, and he was paying her like this? He was definitely arrogant and inconsiderate.

"Would you excuse me...?"

"Huh...?" Demetrius was about to interrupt her, but she didn't let herself and spoke a little louder.

"If you hadn't had such a disorganized, to say the least, previous secretary!" she paced back and forth touching her forehead in frustration, "I wouldn't have wasted two hours of my very great time fixing the pigsty I had on the laptop, and therefore, I wouldn't have been late for your lunch, as for the fish, if you hadn't been so irresponsible and put it on the list of foods you can't or don't feel like eating to your arrogant stomach, none of this would have happened."

Demetrio looked at her perplexed, no woman in his life had ever spoken to him like that, not even the most beautiful, not even the most famous runway models, and she, his new secretary, besides being ungraceful, was talking back to him badly.

She got up from her seat, her head was smoking with impotence, who was she to talk like that to the heir of the most millionaire company in the world? She walked at a slow pace and landed in front of the girl, who regretted having spoken to him that way.

"Miss Anderson," he said, looking over the girl who was a hell of a lot less than him, who was also trembling like a mouse with shivers, which caused the Italian's predatory instinct to flare up like lightning, all from feeling Eva shuddering under him, it provoked a strange desire in him, a product of the innocence that his nostrils sensed, like a dog in heat detecting the purity of its prey.

He stuck almost to Eva's lips, who was still trembling like jelly, and said....
