As Steve and Michael rushed back to the house, their hearts pounding with fear and urgency.
"Marie....MARIE....MARIE WHERE ARE YOU?" Steve shouted as he ran into the house.
Michael stood frozen at the entrance to the lounge.
"What is it?" Steve asked as he pushed past him in the lounge.
The smell of blood filled his nose and the panic rose in his throat. Steve stalked around the room and taking in the room.
"She isn't here Steve"
"THEN WHERE THE FUCK IS SHE" Steve growled.
"My best guess would be, that he has taken her back to the pack"
"We need to go and get her back! She is in trouble. I need to call Blake."
Steve pulled his phone out of his pocket but as he did something caught his eye. He walked over to a spot near the sofa. Steve reached down and picked up Marie's smashed mobile phone.
Steve held the phone up for Michael to see.
"Shit. We have no way of reaching her now"
"We have to go to the pack....We...." Steve started but Michael cut him off.
"You cannot go Steve. He will not allow you across his borders. I will go back, find her and keep her safe. You must go back to Blake and talk to this witch. If this is magic we need to know how to break it"
"I cannot go back knowing she is in danger."
"You have no choice Steve. I have told you how he reacted when she said she was going to meet you. Can you imagine how angry he will be if your storm into his pack lands and steal Marie from him?"
Steve knew Michael was right.
"Find her Michael and keep her safe"
"i will Steve. As soon as i have my eyes on her i will let you know. Keep me up dated on what you find with this witch"
Steve ran outside and jumped into his car and raced back to Blake. Fear settled in his stomach as he knew he would have to tell Blake what had happened.
Michael, however, remained in the foyer of the house, his thoughts racing. This was the same place where he had dropped off Marie months ago, and he couldn't help but feel a sense of responsibility for her safety. Determination and worry etched on his face, he made up his mind and left the house, racing back to the pack to find Marie.
The house was now empty, filled only with the haunting echoes of their voices, the tension that had consumed it, and the uncertainty of what lay ahead. As Steve and Michael embarked on their separate journeys, they were driven by a shared determination to bring her back and uncover the truth behind what was happening to her.
