Marie could not believe that Michael was standing in front her. She could not hold back any more emotion. Tears began falling and her breathing became heavy. Michael immediately rushed to the bed and pulled Marie into his embrace allowing all her emotions spill over. Michael could not believe this was the same young women he had seen 4 weeks ago. Marie had lost lots of weight. He normal glowing skin was dull and pale. Her eyes sunken and dark.
Marie eventually lifted her head and looked at Michael
"You cant be here. If he finds you here Michael...He will"
"Shh Marie. Tell me what has been happening. I have been here for four weeks trying to see you"
"He doesn't let me leave Michael. I have to stay here and wait for him. I am scared Michael. I thought he was my mate. Why is he treating me like this?" Marie asking pleading with her eyes for answers.
"We think we know why Marie" Michael spoke as he continued to hold her close.
"we?" Marie quizzed.
"Yes, Steve, me and...Blake"
"Blake? Is he ok? I wish i have never left that night. I wish i was still with Blake" Marie's sobs increased
"I am going to get you out of here Marie. I promise"
"It is too late Michael. Jacob says i am to marry him...in 2 days. I am never getting out of here"
Before Michael could answer another wave of sickness overcame Marie with such suddenness that she broke free from Michael's embrace and rushed to the bathroom. Her steps were hurried, and the desperation to reach the toilet was clear as she sought relief from the relentless nausea.
Michael, filled with concern, followed her into the bathroom, keeping a respectful distance but ready to offer assistance if needed. He watched over her, his heart heavy with worry. When Marie had finished, Michael stepped forward and offered her drink of water.
"how long has this been going on for Marie?" Michael asked quietly.
"Since i arrived here, but it is getting worse" Marie leant back enjoying the cool of the tiles once again on her skin.
"Marie.....Do you think you could be...pregnant?"
Marie's eyes widened, and she took a moment to process Michael's words. The thought had not crossed her mind until now. Tears welled up in her eyes as she began to realize the implications of Michael's suggestion. Tears streamed down her face as she tried to process the implications
" Michael please you have to help me. I cannot have a pup with Jacob please"
"Ask your wolf to confirm Marie" Michael requested.
"I...I cant" Marie admitted.
"What do you mean you cant? I thought she was back?"
"She was, but since i started being sick i have been unable to reach her. I can feel her there but i cannot get her to answer me. She hasn't been healing me completely either"
"Healing you? What has he been doing to you?" Michael's blood began to boil at the thought of Jacob hurting Marie.
Marie remained silent. She could not bring herself to speak what she had suffered the last 4 weeks. Instead she let her head drop and more tears fell from her eyes.
"It is ok Marie. I understand. I am going to get you out of here....tonight"
Michael helps Marie back to bed and tucks her in and then places a kiss on her head.
"Get some rest Marie. I promise you will be back where you truly belong tonight"
"Adele I need your help." Michael says as he turns to look at his old friend who had stood on quietly watching the interaction unfold.
"What do you need me to do?" She answered with tears in her eyes.
"I need to go back to where i have been staying and get my car. Do you think you can get her out of her room and down stairs by 6pm?"
"What about the guard?. They are always stood at her bedroom door"
"I have an idea. I have some sleeping tablets. Could you crush 2 tablets and mix into a drink for him? They should take affect after about 20 minutes. Once he is down you can quickly get Marie out and down to me. I will be waiting by the gates in my car"
Adele nodded as Michael handed over the sleeping pills. "Thank you Adele. You are saving her life by helping"
Michael quickly left the room and hurried back to where had been staying. As he walked through the door he quickly pulled out his phone and dialed Blakes number.
"Hello" Blakes voice rumbled down the line.
"Blake....I have seen her. I am getting her out this evening. This cannot not wait"
"what do you need?" Blake asked without hesitation.
"I need some escorts to follow and support me getting back to your pack just incase Jacob finds out quicker than i hope he will.
"Done. they will be waiting just outside the southern border of your border.
"Thank you Blake. I aim to have her by 6pm. We should be with you within 4 hours"
"I will come to the border...."
"No Blake you cant. If his guards get a scent of another alpha they will alert him for sure. Also I think it best that you wait and prepare yourself..."Michael was unsure on what he should say to Blake but he needed him to be prepared.
"Prepare myself for what Michael?" Blake growled
"She has gone through a lot in these 4 weeks Blake. I am just forewarning you. Make sure Selena is on hand too"
"Michael what has happened? What are you not telling me?" Another growl escaped from Blakes chest. He could feel his anger building.
"Blake We will discuss it when we are all together again. I am just telling you to be prepared"
With that Michael ended the call. He needed to get everything ready.
