Jacob was restless sat at his desk. He could not stop thinking about Marie and he wanted to know what the Doctor had said. He cast his work aside on his desk and headed to their room.
As Jacob stepped out of his office a faint scent caught his attention. He was unable to place due to how faint it was. As Jacob reached the alpha floor the scent grew stronger. It was a scent that triggered a sense of unease. As Jacob reached the bedroom door , realization hit him on who the scent belong too. Michael.
Jacob's anger reached a boiling point as he pushed open the door to their room. He looked around and found nobody but Marie asleep on the bed. In 3 strides Jacob was stood by the side of the bed. He roughly grabbed her by the shoulder and pulled her over on the bed. Marie woke up startled and frightened when her eyes landed on Jacob.
"WHY THE FUCK CAN I SMELL MICHAELS SCENT IN HERE" Anger was rolling of Jacob in waves.
"What..do you mean? You said you were going to send a doctor..." Marie's heart raced as she tried to find the words that would not get anybody into trouble.
Jacob let a deep laugh "Don't lie to me Marie. Why would i send him to you" He spat with as much venom as he could muster. The anger he was feeling was taking over.
"I am...I am not lying alpha"
Jacob grabbed Marie by the hair and dragged her off the bed onto the floor. Marie landed with a thud and pain surged through her side.
Jacob knelt down so he was staring straight into her eyes "Bullshit!" he shouted just before his palm landed on her cheek.
Marie could taste the metal in her mouth and she knew her lip had been split from the impact. She kept her head lowered to the ground and remained still.
"Look at me" Jacob demanded. Marie remained frozen "I said look at me Marie" This time Jacob grabbed her chin and twisted her face so she was looking directly at him.
"Tell me the truth" Jacob said slowly.
"I swear my alpha, I am telling you the truth. I thought you.." Before Marie could finish her sentence Jacobs fist connected with her face. This time the pain did not stop. Hit after hit, kick after kick connected with Marie's body. The next kick landed on her abdomen and Marie felt a sudden sharp pain rip through her stomach. Marie thought about the possibility that she was pregnant and tears began spilling over.
"Please stop" She begged over and over again but each beg only seemed to add to the anger Jacob was feeling.
"This will teach you not to fucking lie to me" Jacob spat as he landed one last and final blow to Marie's body. "I am going to find your doctor friend, and have him thrown in the dungeons"
Jacob used his foot to push a broken and bloody Marie to the side as he left barking at the guard on the door that nobody other than him is to enter from now on.
Marie lay beaten and bloody on the floor. The taste of metal now strong in her mouth and she could feel as blood soaked through her clothes. She wrapped her arms around her abdomen as the pain continued to cover every inch of her body.
Marie lay in the dark covered in blood and in pain. The darkness loomed on the edge of her vision threatening to take her away. Her wounds were not healing no matter how much she reached out to Lila. Marie knew that she would die on this floor.
The door to the room swung open, Adele rushed inside, her eyes widening in shock and disbelief at the sight that greeted her. The room was filled with the scent of blood and her heart sank as she took in the condition of Marie.
Marie's beaten and bloody state was a stark contrast to the Marie Adele had left only a few hours before. She rushed to her side, her hands trembling as she reached out to comfort her, her voice filled with deep concern, "Marie, what happened to you?"
Marie was unable to talk. her cut and broken face and lips hurt to much. Her right eye now swollen shut. "Don't worry, Michael is waiting at the gates to take you away. I need to you to find one last bit of energy to help me get you there. Can you do that Marie?"
Marie turned away from Adele, praying for the darkness to take her. "Marie come on, we have to go now" Adele dragged Marie to her feet and put her arm around her for support. Marie swayed and struggled to stay upright as dizziness consumed her.
"Fight Marie. I need you to fight. 5 more minutes and you will be out of here. do this for your pup" Adele quietly urged her.
Marie dug deep and started to put one foot in front of the other. She knew she needed to escape and this would be her only chance,
Marie's injuries made each step painful but she remained determined to meet Michael. Adele swiftly led Marie out of the room and down a concealed corridor that would take them out of the packhouse without raising suspicion. Their movements were discreet, as Adele's knowledge of the house's layout allowed them to avoid any potential obstacles.
Once outside, Marie knew she only needed to make it to the gates and Michael would be waiting. Something made her stop in her tracks as she thought Jacob had said earlier.
"Adele, Jacob threatened to have him thrown in the dungeons. What if Michael is not waiting for me"
"He is my dear. Jacob is currently asleep in his office, I also slipped him some sleeping pills. They wont last long him though my dear. We must keep moving"
Marie did not reply but she knew one day she would need to thank Adele for saving her life.
Soon they were at the gates and as promised Michael was sat in the drivers seat with the engine running. Adele opened the back door and quickly but gently helped Marie climb in.
"What the fuck happened, I need to check her over" Michael gasped as his eyes fell on the bloody and beaten Marie.
"No, there is no time. You have to get he out of here. Get her to somewhere safe. If you don't there will not be another opportunity" Adele closed the back door and Michael hit the accelerator and drove off into the night.
