Quite a jump scare it was for her who had been engraved intensely in her wonderous notions, basking in the glittering rays of the sun peeking through the window. Rosaline jolted up as soon as the anonymous voice made its way into her ears. She promptly darted towards the inception of the voice only to discover a somewhat familiar man sitting across the bed. "It was all real?", she reckoned to herself.
Her abrupt gesture stirred her equilibrium as she strived to run away from the stranger relaxing across her bed, hands crossed and eyes closed smirking. Her left leg tangled in the sheet that had been put on her for warmth as she stumbled down the bed. She shut her eyes as a sudden embrace came swiftly and softly, tucking her in so she won't get injured.
"What is this perception? A dilemma?" she thought to herself eyes vented closed. Those long black lashes loosened as her gaze fell on the entity that had prevented her from falling. The mesmerizing light rays from the window loomed around the man, giving a dubious exposure to her vision.
"Huh", she blurted in confusion as the gleaming light penetrated her sight. How many times had she blinked at that single moment? An eminent man, with the blackest, shiniest bristle she had ever glimpsed and the exact pale face she had perceived back in the cave was cuddling her with his arms around her. Those extraordinarily extravagant yellow eyes were eying on her, " Same Rose as I reminisce from before, extremely clumsy", He said in a profound manly tone that made her feel butterflies in her stomach. What butterflies? "Wake up Rose", she shouted in her mind.
Rosaline's posture was frigid. She was like a wooden figurine that had been glued solidly in a mixture of sentiments. A blend of awkwardness and terror is what can accurately interpret her demeanor. He held up the stiff doll and positioned her gently on the bed. Edmond stood in front of her, arms crossed. "Are you still going to speculate me as a danger?", he sighed. He went across the bed and dragged the enormous, impressive chair in front of her but not too close so as not to intimidate her more.
"Don't fear, I can ensure you that as long as you are here, no one can touch a single hair on you. I can only care for you if you put your belief in me."
There was a peculiar aura in the man who was conversing with her. Rosaline could easily perceive his myriad demeanors, yet his tone was mild and comforting. He proceeded to elucidate to her every bit to ease up her stiff manner. "I understand you might be speculating a lot of questions. For now, all I can tell you is that you belong to this world."
He could feel her pure blue pupils renouncing their stability and brushing on him in a sense of bafflement. "What are you asserting? That can't be true. I lived my entire life there, confronting every second of solitude, anguish, and loneliness and you are telling me my reality was all a lie?", She burst out in a frantic tone. Her hands quivered in atonement as the man sitting forefront soothed her down in the most pacifying timbre.
"Rosaline. You have been sleeping since yesterday because of your fever. I know you might be overwhelmed by the gravity of the predicament but listen to me. It was all for your protection."
Stillness dwelled in the tremendous room. Rosaline sniffed heavily as if a hefty burden bonded her to the subtlest trench of the ocean. She quickly pacified her heart, took in a puff of air, looked at the man named Edmond, and said in the most optimistic tone, "You would explain to me everything I suppose?".
A sudden manifestation of tenderness flickered on his face, as he looked down with a smirk on his face. "Same as Princess Anabelle." He seemed to have again quoted her mother's name with the title of a princess, in the most reputable manner ever known to man.
"Well, I welcome you, Lady Rosaline, to the kingdom of Arcane", he told her while sliding the curtains fully open.
....
Anyone could reckon her astounded countenance as if the greatest wizard in the universe had mesmerized her with a mystical spell. Her gaze landed on a fantastical landscape her vision had ever beholden. However, in a matter of an instant, her retina dilated as if her senses had come upon a verdict. A substantial one at that. "Y-you mean the kingdom of werewolves?", she stuttered her words as her eyebrows knitted upward in a sense of perplexity.
"Yes, my lady, the kingdom of werewolves but I presume it would be a rare spectacle to see a full-fledged werewolf", he snickered as he confronted her curiosity.
Her complexion grew paler as she pointed at him and blurted out," So it would imply you are a werewolf too?". He chuckled unconsciously at her question but halted right at the moment he realized she might be terrified for her life. The smile on his face resided and what could he do? She looked like a tiny rabbit that had been trapped in a den of predators.
....
She was as serious as she had been studying and preparing for her entrance examinations. The oxymoron of the situation was that he relished her reaction because the confident demeanor she had been putting on all this moment had broken apart. "Don't worry, My Lady, we don't eat humans. Particularly gorgeous ones at that", he said jokingly while slightly grabbing the index finger she had been unconsciously pointing at him. Quite a joyous scenario it was, he reckoned to himself.
