Chapter 13 - Chapter 13 – First Day at School

Third person pov

The next day came, and it's the first day at school. At 5:57 a.m., Kichi woke up and took off his cast, moving his right arm with no pain at all.

"Wow, he's right," he thought to himself. "It is high-tech."

He then stand up, make his bed, and went to the unit's little training room to do his Kali training. Later at 6:39 a.m., Kichi took a shower and dressed up in his new school uniform, which was provided by the organization for free, as well as an extra one, too. The school uniform consisted of white, long-sleeve polo shirt with a collar and buttons, a plain black necktie, a black blazer, and a pair of black pants with pockets.

After that, he went t0 the kitchen to prepare a simple and easy breakfast, which consisted of bread and coffee. There he get the remaining the bread from his backpack, which was still good, yet cold and hard, and put it into the toaster oven and set the timer to 3 minutes, before filling the water heater with water and turned it on to boil it. He then passed the time by watching some educational videos on the internet using the campus' Wi-Fi system. 3 minutes had passed, and the toaster oven rang, prompting Kichi to get up and get the bread out of the oven before it burns. After that, he get some small packs of powered black coffee and creamer, which was imported from the Philippines, and opened two of them, before pouring them into a mug simultaneously. He then waited for an additional 3 minutes before the water in the water heater was completely boiled. By that time, he get it and started pouring it into the mug until it was half-full. He then served it along the plate of toasted bread on the table, sat down, did a prayer gesture, and said, "Thanks for the food."

He then grabbed one of the breads and take a bite of it while watching the latest news in his smartphone. It was a very simple breakfast because he has to attend the entrance ceremony, which was scheduled at 8:10 a.m.

After breakfast, he grabbed his shoulder messenger bag, and puts on in his socks and shoes, which was allowed according to the school's guidelines, at the front door. He then took a deep breath and unlocked the door, before opening and went outside. He then closed and locked the door with the key and went downstairs towards the school building, which was across from the dormitory. Luckily, he prepared his bag the night before having to use his left arm, which was slow and inefficient in putting things.

Along the way, he saw that there many students, mostly in his age, walking to the school building.

"Wow, I am not alone after all," Kichi thought to himself.

Then, Catalina catches up with him and greeted, "Good morning there."

Upon hearing that, Kichi turned around and quickly recognized that it was Catalina who said that.

"Oh, good morning, Cata-chan," he greeted back happily.

But then, Catalina was pissed off by that nickname so she snapped. "Hey! Only my friend can say that. You're not my friend."

"Uh, sorry?" Kichi responded back with an apology. "By the way, who's your friend?"

"Whatever," Catalina retorted back, before puffing and continued her way to the school, passing by Kichi.

Seeing her prideful attitude, Kichi thought, "Man, what's wrong with her?"

As Kichi continued his way to school, Haru, who had been watching the whole time from afar, thought, "What in the…?"

Later, at the hallways of the school building, Kichi was amazed by the modern style of its interior. Every time he looked at the classrooms through the windows of the doors, he saw that they were sleek and the furniture are made of high-quality materials. Instead of chalkboards and chalks, there are whiteboards and whiteboard markers. Kichi knew that most of Japanese schools still used chalkboards and chalks, so he was amazed to see whiteboards being used in class for the first time.

Of course, Kichi knew that he has to attend the entrance ceremony at the gymnasium, so he trekked his way all the way there.

Later, as Hayato gives out his speech to the students, Kichi, who was standing in the crowd, thought to himself, "I hoped my life in this school will be quiet. But that's almost impossible, because of the assassin part of this organization. I'll just do what I can do."

Later, after the entrance ceremony, Kichi and the other first-year students went to their designated classroom, 1-A, and settled down on any seat they could find. Kichi got a window seat while Catalina and Haru got aisle seats.

Not long after, their homeroom teacher, Ayato Saki, said to them, "My name is Ayato Saki. I'll be your homeroom teacher starting now. Can each of you please stand up and introduce yourselves?"

The students did so, and they stand up and said their introduction of themselves, one by one.

5 minutes later, the remaining students are Kichi, Catalina, and Haru.

Haru then stand up and responded seriously, "My name is Haru Takao. I am 16 years old. I was born in Yokohama. My hobbies are reading action books. Remember that."

He then sat down.

Catalina then stand up, and responded, "Hi, everyone, my name is Catalina Wesley Jr. I'm from London, UK. I'm 15 years old. I loved cooking and sewing."

She then sat down, and Kichi was the last.

Kichi then stand up and responded with positivity, "Hi, everyone, my name is Kichi Vista-Sasaki. I was born here in Japan, but grew up in the Philippines for 6 years and studied in Vietnam for 3 years. My hobbies are cooking, cleaning, journaling, and reading books."

This ultimately caused gossips from other students. Some say how girlish Kichi is for his household-related hobbies, while others say how and why Kichi had a middle name. But for some, they hoped that Kichi is fluent in the native languages of the Philippines and Vietnam.

Upon hearing all that talk and gossip, Kichi was a bit anxious on the inside, thinking, "I stand out, a lot."

Then, Ayato said to him, "Okay, that was unique of you. You may sit down."

Kichi did so, and sat down.

"Now," Ayato said to them, "open your social studies textbooks to chapter 1 and…"

As Ayato kept on talking and explaining, Kichi, who was reading the said chapter, then looked at Haru across the aisle, only to see that he was angry at him, as indicated by his dark aura.

Kichi then got scared by it then, and Haru said to him, "Hey, you and me, outside, this recess time."

With no other choice, Kichi nodded. "Yes, sure, why not."
