Chapter 19 - Chapter 19 – Don’t consider that to him

Haru's POV

Later, at 4:21 p.m., I arrived at home, which is a big mansion owned by my weapons instructor and adoptive father, Kiba Takao, and I opened the door. "I'm home." Then, my adoptive mother, who was watching TV in the living room, saw me and greeted me back, "Welcome back home, Haru-kun. How's school?"

While taking off my shoes, I replied back, "It's fine, ever since my first day in class."

I then walked into the living room and headed straight into the kitchen to get some snacks of chocolate chip cookies. I did so, getting some cookies from a pack of it in the fridge and putting them on a plate. After that, I took it to my room upstairs.

Once I was in my room, I closed the door, placed the plate on my desk, and sat down on my ergonomic chair, before grabbing one of the sweet and cold cookies to eat it. The taste of the cookies is basically the same despite the different cookie brands I have tried recently. Eating snacks in my room helps me relax after a hard day.

Then, I heard a knock on the door. "Come in," replied I. The door was opened, and Kiba, my instructor and adoptive father, went in, before closing the door. "Hi there, Haru-kun."

Upon hearing that, I turned around. "Oh, hey, dad."

I then turned back to finish eating my sweet snack.

He then walked up to me and grabbed a cookie to eat it. "How's school?"

"Fine ever since my first day there," I responded back normally and calmly. "You saw me there, right?"

"Yes, son, of course. Also, about that duel I had set up for you, are you okay losing to Sasaki-san?"

"Dad, for the last time, yes, I am okay with that. We even became friends after I apologized to him."

"Sorry, sorry, I was just worried about you going nuts with your Berserker ability."

I was a bit annoyed by it, but I had to accept it due to my little experience and training in controlling that dangerous ability.

"Yeah, you're right. My emotions can become unstable and make me unleash that one hell of a beast."

Kiba then chuckled a bit. "You're right. I need to keep an eye on you just in case that happens."

This time, I smiled at him. "Thanks."

"Also," added my adoptive brother, "I was happy that you and Kichi-kun became friends, despite what his late father did to your late, biological father."

"Dad, don't consider that to him! Kichi-kun didn't do anything. Plus, he would never do that to anyone else."

 "I know, I know, sorry…"

 "It's okay."

I then stood up and walked to my bed, laying down on it so I could get some rest.

Kiba then sat down on my desk chair and looked at me.

And then, I told him about Kichi becoming Catalina's rival. Kiba was surprised to hear that. "Woah, really?" I then nodded as I was looking at the ceiling. "Yup, and she was determined not to lose against him, but Kichi-kun was too soft to be serious."

"Man, talk about being raised in a lenient environment that doesn't promote competition."

"Yup."
