It was a normal, peaceful day; the sun was shining, flowers were blooming, birds were chirping—it was all serene.
Until....
*Lightning crackle*
A lightning bolt struck the middle of the field, with six people standing near where the lightning struck. There was a beautiful woman with black hair and purple eyes standing next to two teenagers with the same features. Beside them were three other women in Maid outfits, watching the scene unfold.
"Again!" The woman yelled.
*Lighting crackle*
"Raven, keep focusing! Alex, control your mana!" the woman yelled.
"Im trying; it's hard to focus, Mom!" Raven said.
"It's getting harder to focus my mana at a certain point for casting." Alex responded shortly after Raven did
"Eve, help Alex channel his mana better; Mary, help Raven focus on her magic." Anna ordered.
"Yes ma'am." The maids responded.
Anna had taken Alex and Raven out to train their magic, and since they inherited the same magic as her, she thought it would be simple. Raven was doing better than Alex at casting, but Alex was better at manipulating the magic; he just had trouble channeling it out of him.
It was then that a purple lightning strike hit a nearby tree, setting it ablaze. Raven had finally casted a perfect strike at a target.
"Perfect Raven! You finally did it. Veronica, if you would, my dear." Anna said.
As she said that, Veronica walked over to the tree and casted her a magic spell on the tree that caused a downfall of water to go over the tree, extinguishing the flames.
"It's done, my lady." Veronica spoke in her usual monotone voice.
"Thank you very much. Now for you Alex."
"Alright, let's do this." Alex said.
Lightning struck the tree, but it wasn't like how Raven's looked. Instead, it was a curtain of lightning hitting not only the tree but the ground surrounding it.
"No, Alex, you are using too much mana!" Anna warned Alex.
"No, my lady, he isn't using tons of mana! I can feel his mana circulating; this is just a miniscule amount." Eve screamed out.
"What?' Anna was surprised. "Alex stop!"
Soon afterwards, all the lightning ceased, and Veronica ran to the field to put out the fires with her water magic.
"It seems we need a new method to train you; you have an absurd amount of magic if even Eve was surprised. We'll get back to magic training another day; both of you go back inside and clean yourselves up." Anna said to the two.
"Yes mom." Alex and Raven spoke in unison.
As the two went back into the house with Mary as an escort, Anna talked to Eve and Veronica.
"Do either of you understand what is going on with Alex?" Anna asked.
"Yes, my lady, after seeing the amount of mana in his body, it's safe to say it's an abnormal amount. If he unleashed it without any control, its pure potency could wipe out an entire city. What we saw just now was only a fraction of the potential damage he could cause." Eve explained.
"If that's true, then Alex is basically a one-man army with his magic." Anna said.
Veronica chimed in. "It's also safe to assume that Edwards and/or Edmunds spies have been alerted to that as well. Meaning Edward will learn of Alex's true potential sooner rather than later."
"Damn that man, I won't let him touch either of my kids. If any of those black knights come here, make sure to deal with them, and under no circumstances let them go near my children." Anna said angrily.
"Yes ma'am." The maids replied.
That night, Alex left the house and went into the woods. Knowing his magic was too powerful to practice at the moment, he decided to train his swordsmanship. He grabbed his steel-made blade and started to swing at targets he had made himself in the woods. However, something unusual happened as he was practicing. He felt as though his own magic was leading him somewhere. He soon sheathed his sword and started to walk in the direction he was being led.
After about seven minutes of walking, he came across an older man sitting on a rock with a small campfire. He wore a black robe with a black mask on his face, with few openings for his eyes and his longer silver hair flowing out of the back of it.
"I know you're there, child." the man said. "Before you ask, I can sense your aura; you have a very strong aura at that."
Alex walked near the man while also keeping his distance.
"So you're the one, huh." the man said.
Alex was confused. "What do you mean by "the one?"
"Your mana has similar properties to my own." the man said.
However, what came next surprised even Alex.
The old man started to generate lightning in his palm. Instead of the normal blue, yellow, or even purple lightning like Alex's, it was pure white that lit up the nearby surroundings.
The man continued talking. "I know you have the same type of magic, although slightly different. You also have about the same amount of mana as I do. Meaning you're the one."
"I don't understand. What do you mean by the one? Can you explain it to me?" Alex asked.
The man stayed quiet; however, after about half a minute, he threw a sword at Alex. This sword was unlike the steel weapon he had. Instead, it had a longer and slimmer curved blade. It resembled an old Japanese sword from Alex's previous world.
"That sword is called a tachi; it was made by a blacksmith from the western island countries. His name is Tenshin, if you ever get the opportunity to visit the islands."
"Uhm, thanks for the sword, but why give it to me?" Alex asked.
"Channel your magic through the sword and aim for that tree there." The old man directed.
Alex did as instructed and channeled his mana through his hand; however, he had trouble channeling it through the sword.
"I see you have trouble with this. Now listen to my words and follow them well. Think of the sword not as an object but as a part of your body. It has become you. Now channel your magic into it and unleash your magic."
Alex went into deep thought. "The sword is a part of me; I can't think of it as an object."
Shortly after, sparks started appearing on the blade of the tachi.
"That's it now; unleash it!" The man yelled.
After that, a purple lighting strike that came from the tip of the blade hit the tree in a precise shot.
"Holy shit, I did it! and it was under control!"
"Congratulations on passing your first lesson, young one." the old man said.
"First lesson?" Alex asked.
"Yes, one of many; I name you my disciple. I will teach you all I know."
