The day was going as usual. In the morning, Raven was training with Alex and her mother since Alex decided to train both with Ghost and with his family in order to track his progress. However, after the light training, Alex went back to the house and into the kitchen, while Raven went upstairs in a hurry. Both of them were getting ready for their planned picnic.
Alex was putting together a sandwich basket with some ham sandwiches and some strawberries, which were Raven's favorite fruit. He wanted Raven to have a good time since they haven't been able to really hang out like they used to.
Meanwhile, Raven was upstairs changing into one of her favorite dresses. It was a dark blue summer dress with black designs on it. She had a smile on her face since she had been looking forward to his since this morning when they talked. This was one of the few times the two could be one-on-one with each other in awhile.
About fifteen minutes later, the two met up with each other in the main room of the house.
"You look beautiful, Raven." Alex said, looking at Raven.
Raven blushed and said. "Thank you."
Afterwards, the two walked out of the house and started heading towards the waterfall; however, they weren't alone.
"Is that the target boss?"
"Yeah, that's him and his sister; look at them going out without guards. It makes our jobs easier."
"Too bad we can't touch his sister; that body of hers is way too tempting."
"Keep it in your pants. Zeke, This isn't one of those jobs, although those maids we saw are very tempting." Davis said.
"Maybe we go into business for ourselves and take one with us after we're done." Connor said.
"Hm, maybe let's just make sure this job is complete." Davis said.
"Yes, boss." the three others said.
*Meanwhile*
Alex and Raven went to the waterfall, and Alex rolled out a nice blanket for the two. However, Raven had another idea.
"What do you say we eat while we put our feet in the water and relax?"
Alex smiled. "That sounds like a good idea. Ok, I'll bring the food over there."
Alex moved everything near the water, and the pair put their feet in the water. Then the two started to talk.
"So when did you get that dress? It looks beautiful on you." Alex asked.
Raven blushed and said "Thank you. I went shopping with Eve and found this at a local boutique in town. I really liked it, so we got it."
As Raven reached for a sandwich, she saw something that surprised her: "You got strawberries? I thought we ran out, and they're so red too?"
"Yeah, I got them from the main house garden, to be honest. They don't guard their garden, so it was pretty easy to swipe some. I didn't take much, but I knew you liked them, so that matters more." Alex explained.
"Aren't you worried you will get in trouble?" Raven asked with a little worry on her face.
"Don't worry about it; truth be told, I've been taking stuff from there for years now and never once got in trouble doing so. Although there was a close call with me sneaking some grapes, let's just say a butler and a maid were getting busy in the garden. That was almost a very awkward close call." Alex said laughing.
"Wait, really?" Raven asked, smiling.
"Yeah, it definitely was a first, that's for sure." Alex said.
"To think they'd do that in public, of all places." Raven said as she was shocked to hear about this.
"I mean, it isn't completely uncommon; some people are into that sort of thing." Alex said.
"That's surprising. I never thought that was something couples did."
Alex tried explaining. "Well, it's not every couple. Certain people are into certain things that others aren't. It's kind of hard to explain, really."
"And are you into that sort of thing?" Raven said while blushing.
"Don't know, I never did anything like that; not like I've had tons of time to talk to girls after all. Only really talk to you, mom, and the maids. I never had someone to call a lover." Alex explained.
"But you will, though; you're supposed to marry that Goldburn girl you've talked to every now and then, right?" Raven asked as her chest tightened.
"I guess, but honestly, I'm not interested in that; I have no intention of marrying her. I refuse to marry someone just because I was told to. I'd rather marry someone who I love, you know." Alex said.
"I know; after all, I'm the same with that disgusting Tarren boy. I've only spoken to him twice, and I'd rather never do it again." Raven said.
Alex then grabbed Raven's hand and said "I promise you, you will never have to marry anyone you don't want to. I'll make sure of that. I promise."
Raven blushed and said "You promise?"
"I promise with absolute certainty. If anyone tries to force you to marry anyone you don't want to, I'll stop it." Alex said. "But hey, let's stop talking about this negativity and just enjoy our time here. It's beautiful, and we have some good food as well. Let's enjoy this."
"You're right let's just enjoy our time here." Raven said.
*Meanwhile*
"Something isn't right." Veronica said. "Eve, finish up the dishes for me; I'm going to check something."
"Oh alright, is everything okay, V?" Eve asked.
"I don't know; it may be nothing, but I'm just going to make sure." Veronica said as she left.
"The young master and lady went to that waterfall today; maybe I should check on them. I got a bad feeling." Veronica thought to herself as she headed to the woods.
*Back at the waterfall*
Alex and Raven were enjoying their time, but then Alex noticed something.
"Raven, listen closely, stay near the waterfall, and do not leave no matter what." Alex warned.
"What do you mean? What's happening." Raven asked.
"I think we're being watched; just stay here." Alex said, however, he muttered something under his breath: "Xymaris, I know you can hear me; protect Raven at all costs. I'll owe you."
Alex went into the woods, and a mystic fog started going around the waterfall. While normally this would make anyone anxious, for some reason it made Raven calm.
Alex went into the woods and spotted four men watching them.
"Who the hell are these guys?" Alex thought to himself as he listened in.
"Boss, what's happening? Where did this stupid fog come from?" one of the men said.
"Fuck what's happening." Connor said.
"I guess I should introduce myself." Alex thought to himself while also quietly planning what he will do.
"Hello there," Alex said as he jumped down.
"What the-?" a man said before Alex punched him in the face.
"Wrong response, you uncultured swine. Damn you ruined the moment." Alex said.
"How the fuck did you get here?" one of the men said.
"Don't worry about it; now you answer my questions. Why are you watching us?" Alex asked.
"Heh. Simple really. We've got a job to kill you. Nothing personal, just damn good business." Davis said.
"Well, you four just made the biggest mistake of your lives." Alex threatened.
"Now let's begin."
