Chereads / The Strongest Card Master / Chapter 3 - Soul Interface

Chapter 3 - Soul Interface

Art began to take model question papers and previous year's question papers of 2nd semester-end exams to test the knowledge his AGI card had shared with him through the soul interface. The results of his series of self-supervised mock tests surprised Art, he scored a perfect score in almost all of them. The only places he got the answers wrong were where the questions were related to 1st semester or were out of the syllabus.

But this cleared Art's doubts about the knowledge he gained through his innate card through soul interface and made him confident that he will not only be able to get passing grades in the 2nd-semester end exams but ace it. Realizing this, Art felt a burden weighing his shoulders disappear as he saw some hope for his survival in this world.

This was not enough, Art thought why to settle for acing the exams when he could top it? So he asked the AGI to transfer the knowledge from the 1st-semester folder and the General Card Development folder saved by the late Art to him through the soul transfer.

Art found new knowledge of the general card development and the entire 1st sem syllabus in his consciousness that made his previous knowledge of the 2nd sem syllabus more profound. With this Art was confident that he could score better if he took the model and the previous year's question papers again.

As for the out-of-the-syllabus questions, he would have to purchase the reference materials recommended by his professors.

Similar to Earth, books here cost a fortune, and reference materials were not covered by the scholarship so late Art had no choice but to skip them all together. However, some e-libraries rent these books on an hourly basis. They made use of superior cryptography to make sure that the digital files of these books could not be copied or duplicated and can only be used by one system at a time. Regardless of the science behind it, they made expensive books available for poor students at affordable prices.

There were many e-libraries to choose from, Art chose a relatively new e-library that offered students four hours of free book renting for starting a premium account with them.

Art signed up and paid for an hour and gained a total of 5 hours of book renting. Then he rented one of the reference books his professor recommended for half an hour as 30 minutes was the minimum time one could rent a book in this e-library.

[AGI report: AI is not permitted to read the downloaded ebook. Permission to use the soul interface to read the ebook through the card master?

(Allow/Decline)]

"Allow," Art agreed to AGI's request as a translucent screen filled his vision displaying the e-book he had just rented.

The e-book file was coded in such a way that AIs cannot read them nor copy them through Brain Interface with their Card Master. But AGI uses Soul Interface, allowing it to read the book through Art's soul.

Borrowing AGI's computing speed through the soul interface, it took less than 10 minutes for Art to read and memorize the entire ebook, and borrowing Art's human intelligence AGI began to comprehend the e-book contents within Art's mind.

[AGI report: 2 aura units required to process the ebook 'Bionic Organ cards.'

(Allow/Deny)]

"Allow," Art approved

[AGI report: Processing ebook 'Bionic Organ Cards'. The estimated time for complete processing is 24 mins.]

[Aura stored: 9000units >>> 8998units]

As AGI tried to comprehend the ebook, so did Art using his existing knowledge of general card development and the 1st & 2nd sem card developer syllabus. However, Art soon found that comprehending massive data was not as easy as reading it. So, he decided to walk the easy path by letting the AGI comprehend the ebooks for him.

While AGI was still processing the first reference book, Art rented another 9 reference books out of 14 reference books recommended by his professors, each for 30 minutes, exhausting his entire rent time.

In under an hour, Art managed to read and memorize all of the 9 ebooks thanks to AGI's computing speed that he borrowed using Soul Interface. As for AGI, it queued all the ebooks for processing.

[AGI report: Ebook 'Robotic Prosthetic Cards' queued for processing.]

[AGI report: Ebook 'Simple Sensors using Aura' queued for processing.]

[AGI report: Ebook 'Manifesting Interactive Multimodal Systems using Aura' queued for processing.]

[AGI report: Ebook 'Bionic Human Cards' queued for processing.]

[AGI report: Ebook 'Cybernetics and Bionic cards' queued for processing.]

[AGI report: Ebook 'Converting Aura to Aura Essence' queued for processing.]

.

[AGI report: Ebook 'Aura Robot Cards' queued for processing.]

All Nine ebooks memories by Art were queued for processing by AGI. However, Art still had 5 recommended reference books left to read.

So, Art signed up with another e-library that gave new student users 3 hours of free book renting. Paying for an hour, Art availed a total of 4 hours of book renting. Art then read and memorized the remaining 5 recommended reference books. While AGI added them to the processing queue to comprehend them.

[AGI report: Ebook 'Bonic Weapon Cards' queued for processing.]

[AGI report: Ebook 'Cybernetics Using Aura Essence' queued for processing.]

[AGI report: Ebook 'AI and Aura' queued for processing.]

[AGI report: Ebook 'Bionic and Cybernetic manifestation using Aura and Aura Essence' queued for processing.]

[AGI report: Ebook 'Power Suit and Exoskeleton Cards' queued for processing.]

[Aura stored: 8970]

Having spent 30 aura units to queue all the recommended reference books for processing, Art believed that AGI could process all 15 ebooks before the 2nd sem exams begin.

Thanks to this Art was now not only confident about being able to top the semester-end exams but also to develop 1-star cards on his own. Such a feeling made Art look forward to his future in this new world.

Now that the impending crisis of the 2nd sem-end exams was handled, Art then transferred 60 aura units from his card aura to his aura tank card and saved it.

[Card Aura: 72 Aura units >>> (12/72) Aura units]

[Aura stored: 8970 Aura units >>> 9030 Aura units]

The aura of a card master recovers over time so it was wise to harvest card aura and store it in an aura tank card for future use.

Art then turned his attention toward his growling stomach, he was hungry. Art then headed to a local store to buy new toiletries for his daily hygiene and some instant noodles to satisfy his hunger. Instant noodles were not healthy but Art's finances were tight. So on his way to the store, he dug through the late Art's memories to solve his financial problems.
