Chereads / The Strongest Card Master / Chapter 6 - Bullet Time

Chapter 6 - Bullet Time

It takes about 25k to 24k aura units for a 1-star card developer to develop a 1-star neural implant card using scanvistan design.

Considering AGI was more efficient than most rookie card developers, Art thought it would reduce the aura consumption in developing the 1-star card by 10 to 15 percent.

[AGI: 12000 aura units required to develop a 1-star neural implant card using scanvistan design.]

"12000 aura units," Art exclaimed in surprise, seeing AGI had reduced the Aura unit consumption by 50 percent. He had underestimated the AGI card.

Art wasn't to be blamed for that as even a veteran 1-star or a 2-star card developer can only decrease the aura unit consumption in developing a 1-star card by 20 to 30 percent at most.

Therefore a 50 percent decrease in aura unit consumption was not only unexpected but mind-bending and would attract too much-unwanted attention.

"AGI, use 20,000 aura units to develop a 1-star neural implant card using scanvistan design," Therefore Art instructed AGI to use 20k aura units to develop the card which was 20 percent more efficient than the original aura consumption.

Which should be enough for Art to stand out as a talented card developer and get a seat in the second-year internship program.

[AGI: Developing a model for a 1-star neural implant card using scanvistan design requiring 20,000 aura units.]

AGI then drew a 3D hologram of a 1-star neural implant card using the scanvistan design it will be developing using 20k aura units in the simulated environment of the card developer simulator for Art to verify if it fits his requirement.

After scrutinizing the 3D holographic model, Art nodded in satisfaction and then ordered the simulator to generate 20k virtual aura units for him to begin developing the 1-star card.

Following Art's order the simulator emulated a virtual blank card containing 20k virtual aura units. Grabbing the virtual blank card, Art demanded, "AGI, commence card development."

[AGI: Commencing the development of a 1-star neural implant card using scanvistan design…

Aura stored: 20,000 Aura units.

Estimated time of completion: 3 hours 41 minutes.]

As AGI began to use the soul interface to develop the virtual black card containing 20k virtual aura units into a 1-star neural implant card, Art focused on every step of the developing process.

He was awestruck seeing the command AGI card had over the virtual aura units and how skillfully it was able to execute manifestation card arts to conjure aura into flawless and durable parts, drives, and modules of the implant as described in the scanvistan design.

After assembling the implant, AGI used manifestation card arts to code and conjure an AI program using aura specifically designed for the operation of the neural implant.

Once the implant was assembled and programmed, AGI used control card arts to manipulate aura into developing a quick way to embed or detach the neural implant into the spinal cord of the card master in under a second without cutting and drilling into their flesh and bones.

[AGI: Development of a 1-star neural implant card using scanvistan design completed.]

With the prompt of the AGI card, Art saw the virtual blank card morph into a virtual 1-star neural implant card. Then he enthusiastically checked its card info with great anticipation,

[Card Name: Scanvistan Neural Implant

Card Type: Item Card

Card Rank: 1-Star

Card Durability: [100/100]

Card Consumption: 3 aura units per minute

Card Effect: Allows Card Master to conjure and attach a scanvistan neural implant to their spinal cord by consuming 3 aura units per minute.

Additional Effect: Enhanced Reflexes, Enhanced Awareness, Enhanced Dexterity, Bullet time.

Note: The card master is advised to keep track of aura consumption while using the card.]

[Skill: Bullet Time (active)

Consumption: 5 aura units per second

Effect: A special mental state where the awareness, reflex, and thought process of the card master are raised to the maximum such that everything around them appears to have slowed down. Allowing them to come up with a quick response to their surroundings and react at the fastest speed their physical body can fathom.

Note: Long use of this skill strains the card master mentally and physically. Use with caution.]

"Nice," Art blurted, reading the scanvistan neural implant card info. Then he ordered, "Simulator switch to testing mode."

With Art's command, the simulated environment changed into a training field containing various training equipment and bots which will aid card developers with card testing.

"Equip, scanvistan neural implant card," Art felt his control over his body and his surroundings improve, thanks to the enhanced reflex, awareness, and dexterity effect of the neural implant card they had equipped.

Pointing at the training bot equipped with automatic firearms in the training field, Art ordered, "Fire."

Following Art's command, the bot aimed at him and opened fire while Art chanted, "Activate skill Bullet time."

Under the effect of the skill bullet time, Art felt everything in his surroundings slow down, though he could see the bullets and their trajectory. Thanks to this he was able to duck, with the fastest speed his physical body could muster, in time to avoid the first round of bullets.

Noticing that Art ducked to dodge its attack the training bot adjusted its aim, the change in the training bot's aim was immediately noted by Art thanks to the skill bullet time. So he barrel-rolled to the left side dodging the second round of bullets.

The training bot immediately corrected its aim, this time Art rolled his body backward. The bullets continued to follow him as the bot instantly adjusted its aim, Art tried to leap high up in the air but his physical body gave up and the training bot stopped after eliminating its target.

Art was eliminated mostly becasue his emulated body in the simulator, which was an exact copy of his original physical body, could not continue to perform at its peak for more than a second.

Yes, the testing only took a second, during which Art was able to escape the barrage of bullets three times in a row thanks to the neural implant card.

Had Art equipped cyber or bionic limb cards then the result would have been entirely different. He would not only be able to dodge the bullets but also disarm the training bot.
