Chapter 43 - A Normal Day IV

"Go Anton!"

"Avenge us!"

"Slay that monster!"

Marco along with the other boys cheered from the side.

They had long been eliminated from the game, leaving only Anton to compete for their team.

'This is fun!' Anton thought happily as he panted.

He couldn't even feel the exhaustion because of how much fun he was having right now.

However, the same couldn't be said for Tanya.

"You idiots! Who are you calling a monster!? I'll beat you all up later!" Tanya lashed out at Marco and the others.

Like the boys' team, only Tanya was left "alive" from the girls' team.

Furthermore, the scene of her friends focusing all their attention on her brother made her angrier.

"They aren't even bothering to cheer for me…" Tanya muttered as she clutched the wooden ball in her hands.

Then, with fiery eyes, she hurled the ball with all her might towards Anton. "Die!"

Anton wasn't able to react before the ball caved in on his stomach.

""Anton!""

Marco and the other hurriedly went to check up on him.

Jin also looked worried since he knew how powerful his sister was.

"Are you alright, Anton?"

Everyone surrounded Anton with worried expressions on their faces.

Realizing what she did, Tanya became overwhelmed with guilt, "I-I'm sorry Anton, I got carried away…"

"Are you kidding me!? That was amazing!"

Everyone was dumbfounded as they saw the always silent and aloof Anton with a wide smile on his face.

'Did Tanya's strike affected even his head…?' was the thought everyone has at this moment.

A few hours later…

"B-Brother, I'm sorry…" Tanya said softly as she tugged at her brother's shirt.

They were now on their way home after a somewhat "eventful" day.

Along the way, Tanya had repeatedly apologized to Jin for her rashness.

She felt guilty because she injured her brother's new friend.

Jin sighed and said, "It's fine. After all, even Anton himself said that we shouldn't mind it…"

'Come to think of it, he's really strange…' Jin couldn't help but think as he remembered what happened earlier.

Instead of being angry, Anton smiled happily at them.

He also had a strange habit of thanking them and repeatedly calling them "my friends" or "friends" instead of their actual names.

Shaking his head slightly, Jin decided to not think of it any further.

He then turned his head towards his sister as they neared their house.

"Sister, I have something to teach you tomorrow. So make sure to wake up a bit earlier than usual."

Tanya forced a smile as she heard his words, "B-Brother? What do you mean? Wake up e-earlier than usual? B-But aren't we already waking up early…?"

"No, we need to wake up before the sun rises." Jin replied as he shook his head.

"B-B-B-But…" Tanya couldn't help it any longer as she said with teary eyes. "Is this your punishment to me? Please don't do this, I'll behave from now on! I promise! I'm sorry for hitting Anton with all my might… Hic… hic…"

Jin looked at his sister for a while before bursting out in laughter.

He couldn't lie that she looked really pitiful.

Therefore, he patted her head and said, "It's not about that… Just trust me, okay?"

Tanya had a hard time believing him but still obediently nodded her head in an adorable manner.

Jin then wiped his sister's eyes before leading her to their house.

In order to appease his sister, he cooked a sumptuous meal just for her.

As they needed to wake up very early tomorrow, the two decided to sleep after they finished washing the dishes.

Jin silently looked up at the ceiling as he pondered.

He had already made sure that the First Solar Sacrament recorded in the Book of the Sun didn't have any harmful effects.

Therefore, he decided that it was time for him to pass it on to Tanya.

'It's a pity that father's busy with the demon beast wave… Oh well, I'll just teach it to sister first…'

He glanced at the sleeping Tanya beside him and smiled gently.

Feeling grateful for everything he experienced so far, Jin closed his eyes and slept peacefully.

The next day…

"Sister, wake up~" Jin had a helpless expression on his face as he shook his sister.

Tanya opened her eyes slightly.

Looking at the dark sky outside the window, she turned to the side and replied, "Bwother, it's still night…"

Jin chuckled and said, "You've said that 5 times already. Come on, I told you that I would teach you something, right?"

Tanya turned to the side and covered her head with a pillow, "Le… me… slee…p… fiwst…"

"I have no other choice…" Jin's eyes radiated resolve as he resorted to his secret trick.

He tossed aside the blanket that was covering Tanya before he proceeded to tickle her mercilessly.

"Hahaha!!– Bro– Haha– ther— Sto— Hahaha!!!"

Pow!

That was until Tanya accidentally kicked him in the stomach.

Jin uncontrollably crouched in pain as he groaned, "Ouch!"

"Sorry brother, are you okay?!" The drowsiness disappeared from Tanya as she looked at her brother worriedly.

"I— I'm… fine…" Jin replied with difficulty.

"A-Are you… awake now?"

Tanya nodded repeatedly in response.

Afterwards, the siblings made the bed before proceeding to the backyard.

The trees swayed gently along the wind under the dark sky.

Illuminated by the moonlight, Jin and Tanya sat in front of each other.

Tanya didn't even ask her brother about what he was going to teach her. She just trusted him with all her heart.

"Sister, follow what I'll say, okay?"

"Mhm."

"And also, don't use your supernatural power unless I tell you so, understood?"

Tanya became more and more curious as time passed by.

Jin noticed this and said, "Don't rush, you just need to follow me."

"Close your eyes."

"Feel the surroundings. The coldness emanating from it."

"Concentrate and carefully sense the energy surrounding us."

"Maintain this state until I tell you to stop."

After about half an hour, the first ray of the sun streaked at the night sky.

A sign that the sun had begun to rise.

Jin observed his sister for a few minutes before asking, "Do you feel anything?"

"Nope." To his surprise, Tanya shook her head.

"Nothing at all?"

"Nothing at all."

Jin frowned slightly, "Okay, just maintain this state. Again, don't use your supernatural power unless I tell you so."

Seeing Tanya nod obediently, Jin had a satisfied smile on his face.

Then tens of minutes passed by in a flash…

Seeing that nothing was still happening, Jin's expression started to falter.
