Chapter 47 - A Book with Strange Pictures

"How's your progress on the things I taught you?"

Jin glanced at his sister as he ate a spoonful of egg fried rice.

After the tumultuous chore of waking up his sister, they were now eating breakfast alongside their father.

Tanya's expression slightly froze while her mouth, which was still full of food, parted slightly.

"I-I'm getting there, brother…"

Seeing her expression, Jin smiled helplessly.

He had begun teaching her the Solar Sacraments 9 months ago.

Now, he had already taught her all of the 5 Solar Sacraments that were recorded in the Book of the Sun.

However, up until now, Tanya had only been able to somewhat learn a few of them.

Especially the ones that Jin could do himself like the Sunlight Resonance and Dawn's Grace.

As for those that he couldn't perform such as the First Solar Sacrament: Sunfire Offering, Tanya also couldn't do it.

Jin knew that the only reason his sister could somewhat learn what he taught her was because of her Technique Replication.

It was a pity that he didn't have energy organs.

This meant that Tanya would only be able to copy the pure technique part of the Solar Sacraments from him and not their aura-related parts.

Since Jin couldn't use aura, then she had no one to copy it from, meaning that she had to learn it from scratch.

Even with Jin's assistance, it proved to be very difficult for her.

Jin knew how hard it must've been for his sister, so he smiled and said, "You're doing great, sister! I'm proud of you!!"

Hearing her brother's praise made Tanya smile happily, shedding her worried and guilty expression.

'I'm glad that brother didn't get angry with me…' She was aware of the fact that she was giving her brother a hard time.

However, giving up was not an option since doing so would be far worse than learning slowly.

After all, she didn't want to appear ungrateful towards her brother's efforts.

'I'll just do my best so I won't disappoint my brother!' She thought happily as she continued eating. 'Mhm! He's the best at cooking too!'

Leo ate while silently observing his children.

'I'm really lucky to be their father… Tiana, I wish you were he—'

"Dad."

Jin's childlike voice sounded before Leo could finish his thought.

"Y-Yes, son?" Leo flinched as he answered.

Jin curiously asked, "How about the forms of the Burning Sword Style I devised? Are they helpful?"

At first, he also wanted to teach their father the Solar Sacraments.

However, he said that it was too difficult for him and that he was already very familiar with the Burning Sword Style and had no plans to change to another technique.

Therefore, Jin analyzed it and devised a few forms which would help Leo use the technique more efficiently.

Leo answered as he nodded, "Yes! They're helpful when hunting magic beasts and fighting against demon beast waves! Thank you, son!!"

'Tiana, our son is really resembling you the more he grows up!' Leo silently cried in his heart.

He remembered how his son resembled his wife when Jin was teaching him the forms of the Burning Sword Style.

It awakened a few memories from when he was still learning from Tiana. 'Ugh, I had always felt that it was hellish back then… But now, I'm starting to miss it more…'

Leo sighed inwardly as he thought of his wife.

"Dad, is something wrong?"

He turned his head and saw his children with worried expressions as they looked at him.

Leo shook his head with a smile as he rubbed both of their heads, "None, you two really just make dad very proud!"

"Yayyy!"

The siblings cheered, making him smile even more.

"Okay! Let's finish up our breakfast so I can drop you at the Training Center before going to work!!"

""Okay, dad!!!"""

"Make sure to listen to the instructors attentively, okay? Enjoy!" Leo said as he patted the heads of his children.

They were now in front of the Training Center's gate after a few minutes' walk from their home.

The sibling nodded with a smile, "Take care, dad!!"

Leo waved at his children as he departed, clearly unwilling to part with his son and daughter.

The same could be said for the siblings.

Although their father had been dropping them off to the Training Center whenever he had the chance, the two still couldn't get used to getting separated from him.

"Let's go, sister." Jin said to Tanya when he saw that their father's back had already disappeared.

Tanya nodded with reddened eyes, "Mhm."

The sight was adorable as the siblings looked like toddlers who were attending a kindergarten, unwilling to be separated from their parents.

"Hey, Jin!"

"Oh, hey Ryan!"

"Jin, good morning!"

"Good morning too, Lina!"

"Hi, Jin!"

"Hello, Brad!"

Along the way, many trainees greeted Jin, who then greeted them back.

He had already made a lot of friends and acquaintances in the past 9 months which made him quite proud of himself.

In fact, almost all of the trainees in their batch already knew him to some extent.

Tanya, who was still being held by Jin, had a fed up expression on her face as he witnessed all of this.

At first, she would still try to make the others back off, thinking that they would steal Jin away from her.

She soon dropped it though, as she saw the happiness in her brother's eyes whenever he made new friends.

"Tanya! Over here!"

Tanya heard a familiar voice and saw that it was Rowena alongside their friends.

Excited, Tanya ran up to them while dragging Jin who was almost floating due to the sheer force of her pull.

'How can she be so strong with that small body of hers…?' Jin thought bitterly.

He wondered how much his sister would get stronger if she managed to fully learn the Solar Sacraments.

Jin shuddered at the mere thought of it, 'She's going to be even more monstrous…'

"Brother Jin!"

Before he could continue his thoughts, he saw Marco running towards him.

Judging by the look on his face, Jin could see that Marco was up to something again.

Marco soon sat beside him and whispered, "Brother Jin, I discovered some books with strange pictures in my father's drawer… You wouldn't believe what I saw… Here look…"

As expected, Marco was making trouble again.
