"What!" Yetsune and Erya exclaim, eyes bulged as they glance at each other as if trying to confirm they've heard wrong.
Crash! They all turn to Nalan, finding her soup bowl shattered and spilled over the ground. She grips the bottom of her chair for support, looking like she's just seen a ghost.
"Are you alright?" Yetsune asks, extending a handkerchief to her. But she still looks dazed, staring into the distance.
"Nalan!" Attendant Nan shouts, bringing her back to her senses.
Blinking rapidly, Nalan's eyes darts around the room. She forces a weak smile, bending to gather the shattered pieces. "I'm fine," she murmurs. "My fingers just slipped."
The Noble Consort leans back with a small frown on her face. "Is the mere thought of Yetsu marrying my son so utterly ridiculous that you all are reacting in this manner?"
