"Are you poor by any chance?" she asks bluntly, her expression deadpan. Cirdan's brow furrows in confusion, and he glances at the vendor, who eyes him suspiciously as if she doubts his ability to pay.
Cirdan forces a strained smile at the vendor before pulling Yetsune aside. "What nonsense are you saying?" he asks in a hushed voice.
"Why else would we be patronizing these common stalls instead of those?" She points at the high-end shops filled with opulent customers of noble origins on the other side of the street.
She's been suspecting it for a while now. The last time she was here, Erya had been frugal with the money given by the Noble Consort, so they stuck to common vendors. But Yetsune expected the prince to take her to more extravagant places befitting his status.
