Chereads / ONE NIGHT FOR A SAD BILLIONAIRE / Chapter 4 - Hopeless

Chapter 4 - Hopeless

After he was satisfied saying everything that was in his heart and mind, Yosef immediately left the house with a disgusted look at Frans who didn't move. He sat limp because what was hidden had been uncovered by Paola and erupted so that his parents knew the misfortune he had experienced. Pain and disappointment filled Frans' heart after the insults he received from Yosef and humiliated him greatly. The term disabled man seemed to ring in his brain and kept repeating itself until he didn't realize that a voice had been heard earlier.

"Frans! Frans!" The sound had to be repeated several times and finally woke Frans from his reverie. Suddenly, he turned towards the direction of the voice where Elena was looking sad now. However, Frans still didn't move, followed by Elena, who sat beside him. She deliberately held Frans' hand who looked pale and confused. Of course, Yosef's arrival was never expected because his misfortune had been agreed to be kept secret.

"Listen, honey. Whatever happens to you, you're Mama's boy."

"I was wrong, Ma, for not telling you the truth about my disability," Frans answered in a languid and low voice. Suddenly, Elena shook her head because she didn't agree with the sentence just now.

"No. You are not a disabled man like Yosef said earlier. You are a perfect man and he would be wrong if he said that. Aren't you, Pa?" replied Elena and instead asked for a similar confession from Reynold who was still silent.

Reynolds silently looked sadly at his only son who had just been insulted by Yosef because he was disappointed with what had happened. Even though his heart was hit by the undeniable fact, Reynold still loved Frans with all his heart and always thought he was the perfect man. For a moment Reynold closed his eyes to suppress the hurt in his heart hearing Yosef's words that were so painful. The insults that came out of his mouth not only hurt Frans' feelings but also himself as a parent. He tried to regulate his breathing to return to normal where his heart was beating fast before his eyes opened and looked gently at Frans who was sitting listlessly while being caressed on his back by Elena. What happened just now can't be played back and now is the time for him to continue to support Frans no matter what happens. So, Reynold immediately sat down beside Frans and said something in a soft voice.

"Listen, Frans. Whatever Yosef said earlier was undeniably painful and for the first time too Papa had to hear you being cursed at like that as if you were so despicable. However, for us, you are still our perfect boy and we love you. You're not a disabled man because you were born perfect without any flaws. Not being able to have children does not mean your life ends here. You will still be able to find your happiness in the way that God will show you. So, don't get lost in sorrow and sink. " Those were the long sentences uttered by Reynold to soothe Frans' heart, which was very hurt. However, those words didn't make Frans raise his face straighter because he kept his head down. Seeing their beloved son so down made Elena unable to hold back the tears which finally spilled down her cheeks. Elena tried to hold back her sobs from breaking by biting her lips.

"I'm so sorry, Dad. It's really hard to be happy. Even though I feel very healthy, it doesn't guarantee that I can have ...."

"Don't talk like that, son. We will find the most reliable doctor to cure you. The diagnosis can be right, but it can also be wrong and we will go overseas to re-examine. Papa will find a great doctor for you and don't forget to ask God as the owner for healing." Reynold's voice was heard again and there were already many plans filling his head for Frans' recovery.

Reynold is not discouraged and will do various ways to cure what Frans is experiencing, even though two hospitals have given the same diagnosis. Unfortunately, Frans shook his head as if to reject what Reynold suggested for him.

"That's right, honey. We are going abroad and Mama is also a little doubtful about the diagnosis because there could be an error," Elena continued to comment and held Frans' hand.

"Wherever I go, the diagnosis will always end the same where they will say that I am a barren man. As long as you know sentences like that break my heart and I can't bear to hear the same thing over and over again!" Frans explained with his eyes looking straight at Reynold this time. It was very clear that Reynold found the deep sadness felt by Frans who refused to seek treatment abroad. What was stated just now has some truth, because if the results of the investigation remain the same, then Frans will have to hear the harsh reality he is experiencing over and over again.

So, Reynold took a slow breath and took a deep breath because he felt a very tight chest the moment he saw the injured Frans. He didn't expect this day to happen and witness with his own eyes that his only son was utterly insulted by the biological father of the girl he loved. Now, the hope of holding a wedding must be canceled and it will be even more embarrassing if everyone knows what was the reason for the party being canceled. Needless to say, Reynold finally hugged Frans, who could release his sadness in the arms of his parents at this time. What happened in the room was witnessed by a maid who also shed tears because she heard the news that had befallen the young master in the house.

"Oh my God, what a tough ordeal you gave to Den Frans, sob...."

A car sped up at a fairly fast speed and entered a luxury housing complex located in South Jakarta. After passing several blocks, the car finally entered the gate which was immediately opened by a house guard after hearing a horn. After the car passed through the door, the guard immediately closed it again as if it had never been opened. The car quickly stopped in the front yard and lined up neatly with the two parked cars first. Then the left rear door was opened from the inside by someone and you saw the black shoes of the owner of a man who was none other than Yosef. His face looked red holding the anger in his heart, even though it had been expressed a few moments ago, but it didn't make him satisfied. Immediately he took his feet towards the door where it suddenly opened and saw a woman standing to welcome him home. The woman's heart intended to greet with a smile that had been engraved but had to be undone when her eyes caught a face that was so scary. He preferred to shift his body as if allowing Yosef to pass through the door without anyone getting in his way. Sure enough, Yosef gave a sharp glance at the woman who suddenly sat her head up. After he left, the woman dared to raise her face and instead ran towards the yard where a driver was standing next to the car.

"Eh, Imam! What happened with Mr. Yosef? Why is his face red like boiled shrimp? What's wrong?" said the woman who is known to like to find out what happened at her employer's house and her name is Siti. The driver, who is called Imam, clearly heard what Siti said and was waiting for an answer.

"I don't know. What's clear is that his heart is not good and it's understandable that his face and his name are also nagging!" Imam replied casually and instead leaned against the car door with his eyes looking at the door of the house and no one was there.

"Indeed, who did Mr. Yosef nag at? Luckily his heart didn't flare up when he saw that scary face like a demon of death!" said Siti paying attention, but her curiosity was more dominant.

"You'd better not meddle in the master's business or you'll get shot because this case is emotionally draining. I didn't even dare to ask questions and was silent during the trip. I really can't get my throat slashed for speaking the wrong way!" Imam replied warning Siti not to ask too many questions. That answer made Siti's face bend and she was held back by another question that had not yet been uttered because Imam immediately continued his sentence.

"But ...."

"Stop asking me. Better make some coffee because my head hurts quite a bit hearing people screaming!"

After saying those words, Imam immediately left Siti, who was glued to the side of the car. Her eyes watched Imam's departure towards the front post with the guards who were busy with their activities. As for Siti, who did not receive a definite answer from Imam, she felt irritated, while her heart was so curious about the incident that made Yosef return home in an unsightly condition. Next, she turned to the door which was wide open because Yosef had not closed it.

"Well, if you don't want to tell me, I'll find out for myself!"
