Chapter 5 - Heartbreaking

As soon as Siti stepped foot towards the door and did not forget to close it. Once inside the house, she slowed down to take a step as if so that her presence would not be heard by Yosef. Of course, she decided to go to the living room because she was sure that Yosef was there. However, Siti had not had time to get there, suddenly there was a loud noise from the second floor and Siti suddenly stopped, then looked up at the stairs where right in front of her was a room occupied by Yosef. The noise made Siti interested to listen and did not hesitate to bring her feet up the stairs. Walking slowly and looking around she finally arrived in front of a door that was slightly ajar. That was the reason why the noise coming from Yosef's room could be heard up to the first floor.

Turning left and right first, Siti got closer to the door to prepare to eavesdrop on what was going on in her master's room. Meanwhile, in the room, Yosef was talking to Maria to discuss what had happened to Frans. Of course, Maria already knew this news, including his going to Reynolds to meet Frans. It was very clear that Yosef revealed what he had done when he met Frans and Maria responded well because she was annoyed with him too. Meanwhile, Siti, who faithfully listened at the door, was shocked after learning what had happened and had something to do with the future son-in-law at the house. She covered her mouth so that her shocked voice would not be heard and felt that the information she had obtained was sufficient, Siti decided to leave immediately before others could see what she was doing. However, when she turned his body suddenly her eyes widened perfectly when she found someone who saw what she was doing at the time.

"Search for your death!"

Two pairs of eyes were perfectly rounded as if they wanted to get out of their place after seeing the figure of a woman with a taller body standing right in front of her. The woman saw Siti's face so keenly that she did not suspect that other people were seeing her actions. What she was doing she couldn't avoid and it was useless to find excuses, while she was indeed eavesdropping at this time. Siti, who has been working at the house for a long time, already knows that the figure in front of her is loyal to Yosef.

"Eh, Ms. Wati. It's surprising!" Siti finally said because Wati suddenly appeared and discovered the eavesdropping action just now.

Without answering, Wati immediately took Siti's hand roughly and led her down the stairs. Meanwhile, Siti could only surrender because she was caught red-handed and would hear a long lecture from Wati. When she came down the stairs she saw that Imam had just entered and looked confused because Siti was being pulled by Wati. Imam did not hesitate to follow up immediately to find out what happened. Arriving at the kitchen, Wati let go of her hand and saw Siti stroking her while wincing because she felt pain from being held down so tightly.

"Why do you like eavesdropping on your employer's business, huh? Do you want Mr. Yosef to get fired? If that's what you want, then I'll tell them to fire you today!" A long chatter finally came out of Wati's mouth, who looked so serious when she said it. As for Siti, she was still grinning while stroking her wrist at the same time the Imam appeared who immediately followed after seeing them rushing down the stairs. However, Wati's annoyed face was still visible, even though she was aware of Imam's arrival. Of course, Siti was very surprised to hear what Wati said just now because she said about being fired due to her actions that were presumptuous to eavesdrop on her employer's conversation. However, she did not expect Wati to see what she was doing and immediately brushed it off.

"No, Miss! I'm not getting fired. I need this job. Don't talk about what I did to them, Miss. I beg you." Finally, Siti's voice was heard whining Wati not to complain about what she did just now, while Wati looked so irritated because what she had done had been repeatedly warned and she had often been warned not to interfere in other people's affairs. Unfortunately, Siti seemed to be deaf because she always wanted to know. Wati took a deep breath and looked fondly at Situ, who was still begging for mercy. Before Wati could say anything, finally the voice of the Imam wanted to know what was the matter between them.

"What's going on!? It seems serious!" said the Imam wanting to know what was going on. Suddenly their eyes immediately fixed on the Imam who had stood between them and put on a curious face. Before taking a deep breath and exhaling slowly, Wati prepared to explain what happened to the Imam.

"Normally her illness is recurring because she was just caught eavesdropping in front of Mr. Yosef's room!" That was the answer Wati could give and instantly made the Imam's eyes bulge accompanied by his head shaking repeatedly. From his reaction, it is clear that Imam did not expect Siti to do this and must have been triggered by what she had asked at the front of the house, but had not answered.

"Are you crazy, Siti? You are so curious that you are determined to eavesdrop because I didn't answer the question you gave me. I think your brain is out of control because you always want to know the business of your master. If Mr. Yosef finds out, I'm sure he will scold and maybe fire you!" That's the comment that came out of Imam's mouth when he kept shaking his head as if he couldn't stop thinking about all of Siti's actions and was repeatedly warned by them not to interfere. However, no matter how much they talked, Siti never changed and kept repeating the habit.

Hearing the Imam who joined in scolding his actions, Siti could only bend her face while cursing what she had done. But what can you do curiosity is so great in his heart that he is determined to eavesdrop, even though he had heard what was said and knew what made Yosef's face look scary when he came home earlier. The rice had turned to mush and all Siti could do was apologize as a sign that she regretted what she had done and hoped that Wati would not complain about the mistake to Yosef or Maria.

"Yes, yes ... I'm sorry for doing something stupid just now. Please don't complain about Mr. Yosef or Mrs. Maria. I don't want to be fired, Miss. Give me a chance and I promise I won't be like that again!" A promise was made again by Siti for the umpteenth time. Wati and Imam took their breaths harshly as if they were fed up with sentences like that because it was proven that they were always being violated. Wati must have felt unbearable, who knew very well that Siti needed the job. After all, she had been working with Yosef for a long time, even though her eavesdropping habits were considered very annoying. So, Wati had to give up her intention of complaining about the act to them to save Siti from continuing to work at the house.

"Listen, Siti! This time I won't complain about what you did to them, but then I can't be sure that you'll be able to survive in this house if it happens again. We work in this house according to our portion and don't meddle in other people's business. Especially employers. Understood?"
