Chereads / Dear Diary, I’m Fine / Chapter 12 - 11

Chapter 12 - 11

Where was it? Where the fuck was it?!

My fingers went pulling, prying, and snatching everything to be found in my locker, yet, there still remained no sight of my diary.

A cry of frustration came stumbling out my lips just as my form went crumbling to the ground.

Mother hated being disorganized. She hated having to bear me being lost on where I had kept my belongings.

It usually was me forgetting that I had tossed it onto a corner, and after a scarf-down of the entire room, I would find the object being sought, somewhere random.

It was that frustrating, believe me.

But this time around, my diary was nowhere to be found, and I had rummaged through all that belonged to me, even going as far as checking Audrey and Hannah's desks at a far end of the room, yet, I still couldn't find that item anywhere.

"Anna"

I spun around to that voice, eyes coming to behold the form of Audrey stood before me.

Her gaze was fixed on me, the silence passed between us bringing about the tension I so avoided.

Ever since last night, we had not come across each other.

And even though I made sure to stay out till midnight, just so we wouldn't run into each other, not after what I had walked into, I still didn't find her in the room, even when I proceeded in to sleep.

Perhaps, she thought the same thing. Not wanting to bump into me too. And upon walking into her absence in the room, I hurried to my bed, taking to my sheets, mindless of the fact that two figures were just on it hours ago, exchanging semen.

"Hi"

My voice was low, eyes watching her.

"I've been wanting to talk to you—She pushed forward, eyes rested in mine—About what you saw last night" She added.

"I know it must worry you, had you confused, probably"

"I don't think what you do should be mine to worry over, Audrey" That chuckle, laced with every bit of nervousness escaped my lips.

Her eyes only remained peering blank at me, gaze skimming my profile.

"Axel and I have a thing going on for a while now"

She had taken her eyes off of me at once, not daring to meet mine.

"And although, we are still undecided abou where we both stand, we get together every now and then" Her words were low.

"I really do like him, Anna" That gaze of hers soon rested in mine.

"And believe me, the whole thing has me torn, especially since I don't know what he thinks of us.

I was unsure if this was some form of confidentiality, but I listened to every word that poured out her lips, watching the glee that would rush to her eyes at the mention of his name.

"Perhaps you should ask him, Audrey. I'm the worst person to turn to for relationship advice"

My utterance earned a chuckle from her, while her gaze remained on me.

"I'm sorry you had to walk in on that" She called.

"I promise to have your sheets washed" Her words were low, hands reaching to take mine.

"It's nothing, Audrey" I assured, returning the smile which had taken her lips.

"Why are your things sprawled about?" Her eyes did a skimming of the space, gaze shift from here to there, taking in the mess I had caused.

"I can't find my diary"

"You still keep that?" Followed her voice, with a snicker coming through.

"Where was the last place you dropped it, Anna?" She had soon joined in on the search, hands reaching for the drawers.

"I had it in my bag the last time I saw it"
