And with the continuous change of seasons we move forward in time by six years into the future, join me as we observe our vibrant protagonist as he practices his monster slaying skills (sword skills) on a wooden dummy (a bunch of old pillows and rags aunt Margaret patched up for him on a wooden stick).
To some it may seem like a runt simply playing knight with his wooden sword, but in reality it was simply him preparing himself for a personal mission he has placed on himself and though he may not know it yet he is also training in preparation to end a millennia old secret war. This is the story of our protagonist, Flopin Campbell, but to other-worlders he goes by the name Finn the human.
FINN POV
It's been six years since ive been reincarnated into this new world, and frankly it's been really fun, I have a loving family who I would give my all to protect and friends that care for me. And even though I'm very grateful for all of them…. Ive still got to find Jake, no matter what I will find him.
Saying it and doing it are two different things, trying to find Jake in a six-year-old body is hard, especially when you've got the kind of family I have. Every time I try to explore the world (try to leave the house) to look for him I get brought back home in five minutes' tops before getting a lecture on the dangers of leaving home and because of how ive pretty much made it a repeat action, every time I run away I just end up coming back home for an ass whooping.
*Shiver*
I kind of get why they respond that way to me running away it makes sense that they probably just see it as childish curiosity and thirst for adventure. Plus, it doesn't really help that I haven't told them about the fact that I'm trying to find Jake. Yes, I know 'why don't you tell them that your trying to find your magic talking dog adopted older brother from a previous life time, I'm sure they'd understand right?' yhh…no that's not going to work, hell even I wouldn't believe it if they told me this, plus even if I did they'd probably just mistake it as me an imaginary friend and play along until I got tired of it. Or they'd just end up talking me to a therapist for 'special children' so for now I'm just going to do things my way.
Finn continues to slice and stab at the dummy trying his best to inflict the most damage on it with minimal effort, but alas the weapon is blunt so every attack he does only just leaves the dummy more beat up than before but that doesn't bother him so he continues to press on.
After a while...
"Finn dear, lunch is ready!! Come get your fill!!" says Aunt Margaret from the kitchen window.
"I'll be right there!!" Finn says as he drops he sword down in a hurry
Entering the kitchen, he's greeted with the familiar sight with Aunt Margaret setting up the dining table, noticing she greets him with a smile on her face before gesturing him for him to wash up.
After washing his hands, she helps him up his seat which is stacked up with a bunch of pillows to help reach the table. With his covered Aunt Margaret makes a grand gesture of the food before unveiling it.
"I hope you like it, I made your favorite." She says with a smile.
And that she did.
"Yay!!! Meatloaf!!"
"Dig in."
And thus begins the massacre of a precious lunch meal (R.I.P).
"slow down young man, you don't want to choke on your own food now, do you?" although it sounded like a suggestion from aunt Margaret, Finn knew better than to disobey her. Slowing down his feast to take a sip out of his water Jermaine walks in, still in his pajamas and barely awake and woozy, but hungry.
"*YAWN* good morning mom, morning lil bro*YAWN* I hope you guys slept well?"
"*SIGH* Jermaine I know your trying to make good use of your holiday, but sleeping in for an entire day is not normal especially for a middle schooler" says aunt Margaret with a wry smile.
"I can't help it mom when I start sleeping it's almost impossible to wake me up"
"That's not really something you should be proud to say you know…" Finn says a bit baffled by Jermaine's shamelessness.
Jermaine shrugs at the remark before sitting down to eat (without washing up first) much to aunt Margaret's displeasure, they all ate in peace and silence for a while.
*DING DONG*
'Uncle's back'
A few seconds later Uncle Jeremiah enters the kitchen, greets his wife by giving her an affectionate kiss on the lips much to the dismay of Jermaine and I. Before he plops in his chair, and starts to chow down on the food like he's been starved for weeks. Following his Dad's lead Jermaine started to devour his food too like an animal. But it seems Aunt Margaret was not going to have that.
"Joshua dear, I can't be scolding the kids on bad table manners only for you to do the same thing as them." She says with a smile that doesn't quite seem to reach her eyes. Yikes… a glare that sharp should be capable of killing, Uncle really shouldn't get on her bad side this afternoon.
"I'm sorry my love I just couldn't control myself, you know how much your cooking makes me crazy." Uncle Joshua says with a dazzling smile.
There's no way that worked. (it was super effective!!)
"Flattery will get you nowhere mister." Says Aunt Margret, but fails to hide her tail wagging from the compliment.
'OH MY GLOB THAT ACTUALLY WORKED!!!' much to Finn's shock
'TYPICAL. MOM IS ALWAYS FALLS FOR HIS CHEESY LINES'.
Leaving Aunt Margret to get lost in her imagination Uncle set his sights on me.
"Finn my boy, how goes your 'training'? have you learnt anything new?"
"It's going really well uncle!! I think I'm finally getting the hang of sword fighting now!!"
"Oh? That's good to hear! If you need any pointers just let me know you hear?"
'finally a chance to fight!'
"Actually uncle I do have a request.... Can you please fight me!!"
"No" Uncle Jeremiah responds with a deadpan expression on his face.
"Not happening"
"Please"
"No"
"Pleaseeeeee"
"No"
"Pretty please…?"
Uncle stops to think for a while before looking at aunt Margret who gives him a disapproving look and Jermaine who seems to be curious about his response.
"…. Ok fine ill fight you" says Uncle Jeremiah much to the shock of everyone.
"YAY!!!"
******************************************************************************
And so began the ritual of Finn getting his ass beat in one strike.
******************************************************************************
Meanwhile… in the icy mountains of Atlas, beneath the surface of the snowy planes, in a mine site hidden from prying eyes, lies the result of a previous battle, broken walls, cracked ground, tipped mine carts and the like.
The red haired fiery vice warden of these fine mines, Mileena, stared at the figure that lay before her on the ground, unconscious and unmoving.
The familiar dark skin and blonde hair child with his trade mark dog ears, reminded her of his mother and a familiar feeling rose up from within her one….
…. of utter disgust.
Just like his mother he would simply become another spec of dirt on these icy grounds, it overestimates its value, its life of was merely kept alive by the whim of my love, but that didn't mean she couldn't leave the goods with a more permanent defect.
Kicking the boy, she placed one leg on his chest to hold him in place while the other was raised to its highest with the sole aim of shattering his knee cap. The onlookers watching some with worried expressions, some with joy on theirs and others with...weird expressions, they could only watch in horror/ecstasy as she brought down her leg to deal the fatal blow.
And as just as she was about to strike…
…. a sudden chill went down her spine…
"what are you doing Milli~" within the playful remark that came from the mysterious figure, animosity was laced within it.
Mileena's instincts kicked in as she unconsciously distanced herself from the figure, her expression sharp and never leaving his form.
"Nothing that concerns the likes of you Caesar." She spat out with venom in her tone.
Her blood boiled as she never took her eyes of the green haired man who only smirked at her response and shrugged.
"Oh...? but it does concern me" he blurred out of her sight.
And before she could react she noticed that the pup was missing, frantically searching for him in her surroundings until she felt her blood go cold as she noticed the pup was peacefully resting in Caesar's arms.
"In order to piss you and that sadistic dumbass off, ive decided to take the pup under my wing!"
Says Caesar with a sly smile gracing his lips.
Before Mileena's mind could completely process his words her body had already moved with the intent of cutting him down for insulting her beloved.
"YOU INSOLENT WELP!! HOW DARE YOU CALL MY BELOVED THAT! I'LL TEAR YOU LIMB FROM LIMB!"
******************************************************************************
When an animal is cornered it fights with nothing to lose but what happens when the animal meets overwhelming force?
******************************************************************************
"Let me spare you the effort of wasting your time" Caesar says as he gears himself.
Throwing Jake into the air, Caesar blurred out of Mileena's view once again, and in a simple moment later.
******************************************************************************
It gets crushed.
******************************************************************************
*BOOM*
The dust cleared for the onlookers to see a barely conscious Mileena embedded in the cave wall, coughing a mixture of blood, saliva and vomit, her previously menacing frame was left looking broken and battered. Her aura flickering a bit before shattering showing just how devastating that attack was for her.
Caesar watched her struggling form for a few seconds before walking away with a satisfied smile on his face.
"GET BACK HERE YOU BASTARD!! YOU SON OF A BITCH!!! COME BACK HERE AND FIGHT ME LIKE A MAN!!" Says the battered form of the vice-warden
"*YAWN* No can't do, I'm only interested in fighting the STRONG, shitty evil weaklings like you should die in a ditch" Caesar says as he goes up to pick up Jake's unconscious body before going deeper into the mines.
Watching his retreating form Mileena could only curse his retreating form as the world around her seemed to go dark.
