Chereads / Xalladdiem: School Of Magic / Chapter 4 - Seeing Red

Chapter 4 - Seeing Red

Kameron didn't know when it started. Maybe it was the vulgar comments from the jocks. Or maybe the massive workload being dumped on him today. Or maybe it was seeing that his biological father was the school fucking nurse. Which made absolutely no sense. Or maybe it was nothing at all. He couldn't tell right now. Because the only thing he could see was red. Everything and everyone outlined in a red aura. And fierce rage enveloped him. And it was all directed at one man.

"Is that who I think it is?" Sam whispered, hand over her mouth.

Kameron was too stunned to respond. His father. Here. In front of him after years of no contact. He was tall and had a lean figure almost like a dancer. He had the same hazel eyes as Kameron but his face was a little older and less angled. He was wearing a white coat, like the one doctors wore. They looked almost exactly the same. Kameron's father frowned. "Kameron? Are you ok?"

Ok? OK??? WAS HE OK?? NO!! " You asshole..." Kameron hissed. He could feel a burning sensation in his gut traveling up into his chest. It mingled with his growing rage.

"Kameron, look I can explain--!" He didn't finish. "Explain!? There is nothing for you to explain!! You left me with a family that didn't even want me. And suddenly you're back and my school nurse!??" Kameron shouted. "What the actual hell?!"

Kameron's father winced. "I had no other way of reaching you or being close to you. Sally and Brian wouldn't let me tal--!" He was cut off by a wave of unbridled rage from Kameron.

"I hAte You!! YoU NevEr caReD abOUt me! YoU nEEd tO LEAVE!!!"

Kameron's father stepped back scared. Kameron's voice had changed. Multiple voices seemed to be speaking with him. His words were jumbled. It was clear but also...not. It was horrifying, all those voices in a cacophony of chaos and rage. Sam scrambled back as Kameron's eyes turned red. That was all he saw.

Everything in the room began to vibrate and shake violently. They didn't know how but Sam and Kameron's father could tell that Kameron was the cause. With a scream of pure anger everything in the room exploded. Sam yelped and ducked avoiding the flying debris.

Kameron's father on the other hand took on the brute force of a red shockwave of undulating energy.

He was thrown backwards into the wall, cracking the plaster and stone. the windows shattered along with every other glass object in the office.

And then it was over. Deadly calm. Kameron staggered to the side. He felt so weak. His vision swam and it felt like his ears were stuffed with cotton dipped in hydrochloric acid. He could see Sam saying something but could not hear her. "H-Home." He croaked.

He could not hear her but she nodded and said something to someone behind him.

He felt strong arms lift him, bridal style and he struggled uselessly. "No." He muttered. But he was losing consciousness. The last thing he saw before he descended into darkness was a swirling red and black figure in the corner of the room. And it smiled at him evilly. And then the dark took over.

When he woke up he most definitely not in bed. Matter of fact he was back at the huge shriveled tree. but now it was bending at a precarious angle. That didn't seem very nice.

DESTROY

DESTROY

Kameron gasped in pain as his head was filled with thoughts and memories. But they weren't his. They belonged to someone else.

He was hit with a wave of despair and anguish. What was going on? Kameron sobbed. He needed to leave.

"So YoU FeeL It ToO." Someone said. Or multiple voices at that. Kameron turned and stared at the figure kneeling in front of him. He looked like he was made out of pure smoke. His eyes were a bright red and glowing. His head was Kameron yelped and scrambled back. "W-Who are you?" Kameron asked quietly.

The..thing cocked its head. "I am chaos." Its voice sounded more normal now. "Actually I'm a 'he' not an 'it'." It said. Wait did he read Kameron's mind? "Actually I'm a part of your mind. And body. And soul." He said.

Kameron swallowed and the figure's eyes seemed to follow the movement. "What should I call you?" Kameron asked. "I'm known by many names. Apophis, Apep, Chaos." Kameron frowned. A few of those names were very familiar. "I think I'll just call you Ap. or better yet, Chase." Kameron said, smiling a little. Chase cocked his head again.

"Hmm. I kind of like it. Mind you I'll always be in your mind so you can talk to me whenever you need." Kameron smiled. He nodded as the world dissolved, Chase with it. Hmm. It looked like he had another friend. An otherworldly one that he knew nothing about but hey what could he do about it? He could ask Chase to tell him more later.

When he woke up, he was actually in his bed. Wait...no. He was supposed to be at school. So how did he get here? Groaning, Kameron sat up and rubbed his temples, trying to soothe the headache that had come upon him.

He could vaguely hear voices coming from downstairs. With a little effort, he dragged himself out of bed and hobbled to his bedroom door. he gasped and leaned on the door frame as a wave of dizziness hit him. With a deep breath he kept going, trying to be as silent as possible as he crept down the hallway. He paused for a second in front of Darius's room. The door was ajar and it seemed like no one was inside. Kameron kept going. The voices were clearer now.

Wait a minute...

There was a figure hunched on the steps. The floor suddenly creaked and the figure turned to stare at him. Wait what was Darius doing?

"Darius, what--!?" Kameron was cut off by a hand much larger than his own covering his mouth. Jesus. He hadn't even seen Darius move. The older boy put a finger to his lips and Kameron nodded. They both knelt and listened in on the conversation going on downstairs.

"--never should have come." Sally was saying. She seemed to be talking to someone. There was a sigh of exasperation and a second person spoke. "I actually did need to come. There is no need for you to take care of him. I can do it." That was Kameron's father!

"So what? Are you going to take him away?" Brian snapped. Kameron's dad scoffed. "If I have to." Brian growled and it sounded like the two men were about to fight but Sally stopped it.

"It doesn't matter what you are going to do. You are unfit to be a parent. You left him and now he's here. And that's where he will stay." She said.

"No. He's coming to live with me in San Francisco whether you guys like it or not. And I'm not afraid to this legally either. He will NOT stay here. You can't even take care of your own son. Do not lecture me about mine." Kameron's father snapped. Sally gasped. Next to Kameron, Darius growled. quietly and suddenly a hand was on his waist pulling him closer. Kameron tensed. But Darius made no further moves. Could it be that he didn't want Kameron to leave either? No that was impossible.

Suddenly the adults dissolved into frenzied arguing. They were yelling now. Suddenly, Darius stood and picked Kameron up with ease. What the hell? Kameron squirmed but Darius only held him tighter. For the the first time, he felt raw superior strength against him limbs and for some reason it wasn't unpleasant.

"Stop moving." Darius growled, kicking the door to his room open. Kameron whimpered and opened his mouth to speak but he could not find his voice. He was then thrown onto Darius's bed. Kameron yelped and scrambled away to the corner of the bed and watched Darius carefully. Darius snorted and grabbed him before he could run and pulled him close.

"Stay. Please." Darius said quietly. Kameron froze, unsure. Would it hurt to stay? Darius wasn't trying to rape him. Yet. But Kameron swallowed and laid down. His back was flush against Darius's large chest, his ass pressing into Darius's crotch. Darius laid an arm over his waist and Kameron tensed. But he slowly relaxed a few minutes later. Matter of fact, he was kinda sleepy. And Darius seemed to be pretty calm. A short nap wouldn't hurt. And with that, Kameron slowly fell asleep.

"Sweetheart?" Sally called. No answer. She frowned and peeked into Kameron's room. he wasn't there. Panic began to rise in her chest and she quickly opened the door to Darius's room but stopped when she saw the two of them sleeping peacefully. She stood there for a few seconds, surprised. As far as she could tell, the two brothers never liked each other.

But maybe things were changing? Sally only hoped that Kameron wouldn't leave. Darius seemed to want the same thing. With a tired sigh she gently closed the door and walked away leaving the two boys to sleep.

And Kameron?

His dreams were filled with chaos.

Filled with red.
