"Have you chosen your class yet?" Lukart asked with a serious look on his face.
"Yes," Winsor replied. He saw no need to lie since they could probably find out sooner or later. "I chose the warrior class, you think it was a good choice?" He asked nervously, wondering if he was going to freak out or something.
"No, actually that's great!"Lukart said as his mood did a complete 180. He was worried that maybe Winsor was going to choose a crafter or mage class. He really wanted someone to hang out with so Winsor being a warrior meant that they would need the same training.
"Father said that I should also convince you to pick the warrior class but that seems unnecessary." He added with a gleaming smile on his face. "Though you wont be as strong as I am since I've done training before but am sure you'll catch up!"
"Wait, you've done trailing before? Was your awakening less painful than mine because of that?" Winsor asked with a shocked expression on his face.
He had no problem with training for a few weeks before actually awakening if it meant dodging that pain. No, he was actually willing to train for years just so that he couldn't face that pain again.
"Yeah, I'm not sure if training had anything to do with it. I think they just used a different method with you. I just felt a bit of a prickle," Lukart responded.
"Well anyway, Father isn't around currently so we are supposed to go to Ruford in the training hall for our lessons." Lukart said while sitting on a chair.
"Give me a bit and I prepare myself, can't go in these." Winsor said as he grabbed some comfortable looking clothes and headed to the small bathroom.
Once he was done, the two boys headed to the training hall but Ruford wasn't there yet. Lukart told him about the different things there like a dumbells and training dolls. There was even an arsenal of wooden weapons that looked to be as hard as steel yet soft as bamboo.
"Wait, you said we're doing classes together, right? What's up with that? I like you but I can't think of why the Earl would put me in with you." Winsor asked. He was wondering why the Earl would treat him as he treated his son, at least when it came to this.
"Well, am also a warrior. Plus if you think about it, isn't it easier to have two students instead of hiring two teachers?" Lukart responded while picking up what looked like a wooden spear.
"Hmm, I guess so." Winsor responded while he spotted Ruford and a strange woman enter the training hall.
"Seems you two are already best friends. By seeing Lukart's happy face, I can tell you chose the warrior class Winsor, am I right?" Ruford asked as he looked towards the black haired youth.
"Yeah, I did. ... Good morning Mr. Ruford. Nice to see you." Winsor responded. He reminded himself to be polite since he was basically a nobody in this place.
"Well, nice to see you too Winsor. This lady behind me is miss Aiko, a spear master from the country east of here." Ruford said as he gestured to the lady behind him. She stepped forward to see both the boys clearly. This meant that Winsor could now also see her clearly.
She had blond hair and wore loose clothing. Her hair was tied into a bun at the back of her head and she had a carefree posture. She had a small grin on her face as she examined both the boys.
"Nice to meet you kids, as of now your both my disciples. I'll make you into the best warriors out there." She said loudly as the small grin on her face became larger.
"You both look like you have potential. It disappointing, but I'll teach you Lukart, for only 3 months, as the other teachers arrive." She added this time pouting a bit while taking a closer look at Lukart.
'Doesn't seem to have the physique for a spear. He maybe good but not really talented' she thought internally.
"But for you little Winsor, I'll be your teacher till you become a pro at all the spear arts I will teach you." She said as she turned to Winsor.
'This kid is still younger than 10 so that means that I can train him into the perfect spearman' she thought as she felt the grin come back onto her face.
"Well, I hope you have fun with her from now on. You'll be spending most of your days with her from now on." Ruford interjected as he was turning to leave the training area.
"HUH? Only three months? What about Winsor!" Lukart said in outrage. He didn't like that his brand new friendship had now just been given an end date.
"Oh relax, you can get to see your friend during lessons. For now you'll be having my classes all day but after three months when the others arrive, you'll have many a day. Its just that you Lukart will drop spear training." Aiko explained to the annoyed Lukart.
"Plus, it's not like you'll be able to hang out all the time. Many of the lessons are specialized since your father wants you to focus on the sword." She added while heading towards the arsenal of weapons.
Lukart was unhappy with the arrangement but he kept himself in check since he knew he couldn't really do anything about it.
"Now, both of you tell me what your strength and agility stats are. Also tell me how much stamina you have right now."
"Strength and agility at 8, and stamina at 30" Winsor responded immediately. He wanted to comply with his knew teacher quickly because he didn't really want any problems with her.
Like really, who would piss off their teacher if said teacher was armed with a spear and knew how to use it.
"Winsor! Your not supposed to tell people you don't trust your stats." Lukart shouted while giving Aiko a side eye. Seems like this was his first time being with any kind of teacher.
His response made Aiko broke into a small fit of laughter.
"hahah- You think me knowing your stats is going to give me some kind of advantage? I'm bound by contract not to reveal anything to outsiders so why act so cowardly." she said with small tears at the end of her eyes.
Lukart turned a bit red due to her words but it wasn't clear if it was out of anger or embarrassment.
"Fine, hmph my strength is at 10, agility 7. My stamina is hmmmm let me check. .... It's 20." he said as he finally calmed down.
"Your stats are all very good, for absolute beginners. Now lets start with training, grab a spear an run. If you slow down, I'll kill you." Aiko said with a smile while tossing them a spear each.
"What? Aren't we first going to do some kind of training movements?" Lukart asked.
"Yeah," Winsor added.
"I don't think I gave you time to talk. I told you to run." Aiko said while the smile on her face grew a bit. That smile didn't reach her eyes though and it gave her a menacing look
"I said run," she added as the atmosphere around the hall changed slightly.
"Or I'll kill you." she said while emitting killing intent.
