Chapter 6 - Tutorial Stage Two (3)

I picked at the gravel and pulled them into a large pile.

"Over here" I gestured to the Kobolds that were standing by and watching. I'm just moments they were upon me, their eyes wide as they watched on at what I was doing.

I handed one of them one of the larger rocks of gravel.

"Crush this" I commanded, the Kobold obeying the order without hesitation. It was then that I saw the monstrous strength of the Kobolds.

Within a second of me commanding him the Kobold had already crushed the rock into a fine sand that was soft to the touch.

My eyes widened in surprise, I knew that they were strong by the way that they had carried themselves but not to the point that they could crush solid rock into a fine powder.

I wasn't complaining though, in fact my smile deepened when I saw that. The monstrous strength of them would allow me to do things that I wasn't able to do on my own.

"Place that here" I quickly commanded, my voice a bit panicked as I saw the fine powder that I was going to use being wasted as it fell to the ground through the gaps of the Kobolds hands.

With a grunt of affirmation he obeyed, placing the fine gravel onto the place that I had designated.

"Crush these and put the remains into the same place that I had this one here place it"

The kobolds immediately got to work, their bodies moved with vigor as they worked their bodies to the bone crushing the pile of rocks that I had given them.

With that out of the way I moved towards the growing plants, the next part of my plan coming together.

I reached into the wall, the plant pulled from its stem as I placed it next to me into the pile of other plants.

I looked down and saw that I had enough and stopped my gathering. Once I had stopped I kneeled down onto the ground and started the process of making a sort of blanket and sheet out of them.

The first thing I did was try and weave them together using some of the strange memory that my skill had brought up. With that it was easy enough but it was still crude.

Though when I looked up I saw a notification that had popped up in my vision while I was focusing.

[Memoria rank 1(1.2%)]

It hugely surprised me, the most increase I got was when I had used it to combat that large group of enemies and almost died trying but now just crafting something using those strange memories had almost given the same effect.

It seemed like my skill was partial to crafting though I couldn't blame it I too was partial to that. I would even have been disappointed if it didn't rank up faster with crafting given that most of my memories were of craftsmanship.

"Hm" I hummed as my hands stopped working, an ache in my fingers that I hadn't noticed as I was working reached my consciousness. The whole time that I had worked on the blanket and sheets, I had ignored everything else and focused on the process but now that it was done I felt fatigued.

Enough that my eyes were dropping and my consciousness falling. I couldn't sleep though, I had things that I needed to do.

With sleep in my eyes I walked over to where the kobolds had kept up their work, a pile of fine gray sand piled up into the roof.

I grabbed some and spread it across the floor and with some stomps of my foot, packed it in.

Once that was done I layer down the plant blanket and bed that I had made. My body fell into it for once I felt comfort.

It wasn't that the bed was particularly comfortable, no that was not the reason. This comfortable feeling came from the warm feeling of a phantom embrace. One that felt proud and prideful.

I opened my eyes to the sight of system messages. Groggily I read them one by one however I was instantly struck by how many points I had made. I had expected to sleep for eight or so hours and get 16 points from the comfortable sleep but if I do the math on that it was 21 beings that had a full eight hours of rest.

The only reason I knew that it was eight hours was the amount of Kobolds that I had follow me. I had counted earlier and they had numbers equal to twenty. Meaning…

My head turned from where it was gazing into the system message and looked around. I saw the snoozing forms of the Kobolds, each and every one of them were in a bed of sand, their bodies buried in it. They looked like they were in bliss as they slept.

'No wonder' I thought to myself as I observed them, 'they must have never slept in something so soft.' Even I was in awe at how soft this gravel was once it was ground to a powder. It was almost like a bed without the coverings.

I softly sat up, making sure to not disturb any of the kobolds that were sleeping.

"Khk?"

"Khan!"

My sneaking around was useless as immediately after I had gotten up the Kobolds had sensed that and started to chatter around. Their bodies moved around as they searched for something.

I watched on curiously, my stomach growling from hunger. Though I didn't have to wait long as one of the Kobolds started to excitedly raise something into the air.

It was some sort of vegetable? I think at least. Either way the Kobold brought it towards me where he gracefully raised it up while subserviently bowing.

I picked it up in my hands and sniffed at it. It had no smell, nothing that I could discern from it, I wanted to inspect it more but my stomach protested. A deep growl echoed from it and through the cavern.

"Hah" I sighed out loud before taking a bite out of the plant. My eyes widened in surprise. It was actually good, not plain or disgusting like I had expected but sort of like a weird salad.

However the most miraculous thing about it was that just that single plant had filled my stomach completely.

The kobolds gathered around me, each and every one of them had the same plant in their hands. It seemed that while I was enjoying the meal they had been able to find more of the plants.

Idly I noticed that my points ticked up a point, the give a personally gathered flower being completed.

'Wait' I thought in my mind. 'I could use this as an experiment.'

These plants counted as flowers so what would happen if I had the Kobolds give each other one of them. Would my points tick up or would they stay the same. It was something worthwhile to find out.
