POV Kai
Kai had been on the road for several days. He was amazed by how much the ninja relied on chakra to see through a disguise. A little ash in his hair, smidgen of mud on his face, a cane he made out of a tree branch. He changed his walk and put on a cloak that hid most of his face. Viola, now few, gave him a second glance he looked like an old beggar traveling down the road.
Out of all his pursuers, the hardest to shake where the Hyuga clan and the Inuzuka clan. The Hyuga, Kai lucked out with because they sent so few to help with the search. By blending in the background, his lack of chakra seemed to make him a part of the scenery for the Byakugan. They barely glanced in his direction, and when he spotted them he moved in the opposite direction from what they were moving. Kai was convinced that they were only out here to show support because of how easy he was avoiding them.
The real trouble was the Inuzuka clan. Their dogs kept picking up his scent no matter how well he disguised it. Kai would spend hours moving along river banks just to buy himself some more time.
(Danzo and the Hokage must be really ticked off at me) Kai thought, unaware of the falling out the two had over him. Slowly, he continued making his way to the coast. He was unaware of a pair of eyes that were stalking him with the patience of a snake. They were Curious about how this kid with no chakra could evade the pursuers for this long and where he thought he was going.
It took the better part of a week before Kai made it to the coast again. He had not seen any pursuit since the day before. Rather than feeling relieved, he became more nervous. Kai was under no illusion. His escape should not have been that easy, especially with the dogs catching his scent so often. Kai approached a town with a large sized harbor and went to a bar frequented by sailors. After he listened, he found a salvage vessel that was leaving for the remains of the village hidden in the whirlpools. Apparently, after all this time, the ruins were still a favorite spot for treasure seekers.
(Convenient, but I can't stand they are using my clans former home as a place to make a quick buck.) Kai thought to himself. He followed the drunken sailors to their ship, sneaking on and finding a place to hide. He quickly fell asleep, he had had a long week and needed the rest.
POV Anko
(Where the hell is this kid going?) Anko thought as she watched Kai stow away. Unbeknownst to Kai she had sent back word to lay off the pursuit. Kai clearly had a destination in mind and Ank thought it was best to figure it out. The Third Hokage had agreed to this and given her the mission to observe him for now.
The chuunin exam had been pushed back a month due to Kai running away and the Hokage could not afford to keep the shinobi force out any longer without drawing unwanted attention from the other villages.
Anko was amused by the kid. Most shinobi without chakra would have a difficult time doing what he did. They relied on jutsu to disguise themselves and hide their presence but him? Ash and a little mud changing of his walk and use of a cane. Anko shook her head, all those knuckleheads that were following him and couldn't see through such a simple disguise need to be retrained.
POV Kai
Kai woke up as the ship was docking. sneaking to the deck, he found a ruined land. The attack on the Uzumaki Clan had devastated the land, and nature was gradually taking back over. Kai stood in disbelief, the captain of the treasure seekers finally taking notice. "Who the hell are you?" He yelled, alerting the rest of the crew. "A lost son coming home." Kai responded bluntly. The captain, being the quickest thinker of the bunch, realized that this kid must be a Uzumaki.
"Well then welcome home," The Captian began, "Now grab that guy men several villages still have a standing bounty for any remaining Uzumakis." The ships crew rushed Kai, intending to capture him. Kai fell back onto the teachings of the Rouge school moving, giving himself room as he dealt with the attackers one at a time. The first to arrive was punched in the throat hard enough to crush his wind pipe. The second Kai stomped on his leg breaking it before throwing him overboard. The Third had his arm broken, before being slammed into the Mast knocking him out. The next three approached cautiously with weapons drawn. Kai grabbed a peg used to secure the sails and using it like a sword knocked the weapons out of the hands of two before the third gave him a cut to his arm. It was just a flesh wound, but it was slowing him down. He ducked past the next swing and broke the man's sternum before knocking out the two he had disarmed. The captian stood in shock as his men were dispatched.
Soon it was just the captian and this kid. "What do you want? The captian asked nervously he had not wanted this much trouble just wanted to make a quick buck. Kai responded "Nothing you can give vulture." Before breaking the captiand nose breaking both of his knees and throwing him overboard. Kai then tied up the unconscious sailors securing them to the mast, before disembarking into the village hidden in the whirlpools.
