Chapter 37 - Mother’s Story- Last Stand

"GET UP!" His voice ringed throughout all of the vampires in the Kingdom.

"What the hell?" Kyle said as he felt a short pulse in his head.

Then the great chamber's glass door opened. The second Prince Aers quickly answered his elder brother's calls and landed a hit on Hercule's side with a war hammer. Sending him flying back to hole in the Kingdom's barrier.

"This must mean, the Queen lost." Prince Aers said as he helped Prince Kraios up.

"Yeah, we are the Kingdom's last defense." Prince Kraios said as he saw the Elven soldiers retreat.

"The Elves are retreating probably to collect their Prince but it's more likely because the enemy Army is getting closer. We need to rally the soldiers quickly." Prince Aers said as he headed down to the soldiers.

"They came for the royals first, meaning they probably aren't aware of our soldiers." Prince Kraios said to him although he continued to wake down to the soldiers.

Mother and her two other sisters finally got to him, he filled them in on what happened and the current situation before heading down the Perron to get all of the soldiers in position.

Prince Aers swiftly got them together by himself and stood in front of them with his siblings to fill them in and motivate them.

"We are the Queen's last defense, we are the Great King Alucard's last protectors. Our home land and life are being threatened by death's soldier and Earth's servants. However we are the very fauna that the Great King Alucard entrusted to protect his land, we are the strong and noble vampire bound by blood. They took our fellow soldiers, our brothers and sisters, even our Queen, now they're trying to take our home. WE WILL FIGHT FOR BLUTHEIM, OUR HOME and THE VERY LIVES WE LIVE FOR." Prince Aers' will tethered to the soldiers by his royal blood. However even before the soldiers understood Prince Aers' determination,, their resolve was cemented to their souls- making them the perfect catalyst for his unwavering and indestructible spirit as he became their catalyst for hope. The Queen's strength shone brightly through him.

"FOR BLUTHEIM!!" The soldiers cheered raising their weapons in their air.

Prince Aers led the army to station themselves just outside the hole that was made in the castle; they cannot let the other Kingdom's to force their way through.

"Mnesyne limit how involve you are in this battle because out of all of us, your adapted blood is the best to continue the bloodline if we were to lose/die here." Prince Kraios said as stood besides Princess Aers.

"What do you mean? Losing here means death so I won't be able to continue the bloodline if we did lose." Mother asked in a confused tone as she was prepared to die for Blutheim.

"Your control over memories are undoubtedly the best and can carry the will of Blutheim, more importantly yourself. You were the only one to stand up the Queen's orders. You must find a way to escape and retake Blutheim." Princess Aphresia said as she made it clear for her.

"…." Mother didn't know how to reply to them, it was as if they were telling her to runaway.

"Don't worry." Prince Aers said as he tried to reassure Mother, then the ground started to tremble. "We'll defend the Kingdom and citizens." He finished as he saw the alliance's army approaching from a distance.

The heads of hundreds of giants who stood nearly 25 meters tall peeking through the hills, standing about 75 feet from each other, as they began to pass over the hills, the Elven and Dwarven army could be seen walking in between the giants.

All three Kings from the alliance were in the middle of the army, as well as a large black log with something shining at the top.

"Thanaea, what is that shining over there?" Prince Aers asked as he pointed at the log tryna make out what it was.

"What are you looking at?" Second Princess Thanaea said as she looked at the army.

She glanced over until she saw the log, then something shone in her eyes for a moment. Catching her attention, dragging her eyes to the top. "Parakaló Vasiliá." It seemed as if her heart plunged.

"What is it?" Prince Aers said as her tone shook them all, he tried to identify it better.

The army finally stopped advancing, giving Aers and everyone else a better look at the log.

"Queen Aria…" Kyle said as the shock hit him like a hammer. "Looks like I'm gonna have to work like the ANM, at least I start with the Kingdom and not from scratch." He thought as the two armies stood face to face with each other.

The alliance had Queen Aria tied to the top of the log by silver chains reflecting the moon's glare.

The same silver chains that compliments the armor of the alliance, weakens Blutheim's Queen.

The alliance and the vampire soldiers' war cries echoed throughout the battlefield. Grabbing the ears of many animals, bugs, nomads. Letting all life in the higher realms know their determination, their final stance begins.

The battle starts with most of the Vampire and the Alliance soldiers charging each other. Prince Aers led some of the soldiers to fight the giants, using the large limbs to reach their head.

"Aphresia, Thanaea and Mnesyne are staying in the back with the other half of the platoon." Prince Aers said as he climbed up one of the giants. "Kraios is in charge of the soldiers in front-" His thoughts were cut off by the giant trying to hit him off with his hand.

Prince Aers avoided the attack by jumping onto his hand, then began running up his left arm. The giant tried to use his right arm to squish Prince Aers but he avoided it once again by jumping through his finger and landed on the back of his hand. Prince Aers, using the strength of his legs, leaped towards the giant's head, pushing his arms down with the force of his jump. Prince Aers cocked his warhammer back and slammed it right into the giant's forehead.

Knocking the giant down, luckily Prince Aers was able to get off the giant in time.

*THDOOOM* The giant squished nearly a thousand alliance soldiers.

"Good." Prince Kraios said as he killed an Elven and pushed forward with his soldiers.

The giant opened his eyes and tried to squish the Vampire soldiers with his fist.

Prince Aers immed knocked his hand away with his warhammer before he landed and rushed towards the giant's throat.

Elven and Dwarven soldiers tried to stop him but the Prince Kraios guarded him with soldiers opening a path for him.

Prince Aers did not waste a second and took the path, using one of the fighting soldiers to jump a good distance into the air putting all his weight into his attack, he aimed for the giant's neck. Unable to recover fast enough, Prince Aers effortlessly ripped through the giant's throat with the head of his warhammer.

Blutheim's army overwhelmed the first division, then retreated a few meters back to regain their stamina and strength with small vials of blood.

The alliance's 2nd division changed their formation, with a group of Elven and Dwarven soldiers fighting with each Giant.

The Blutheim soldiers' fixed their formation to match the alliance's army. They quickly charged them with a group of six Vampire soldiers attacking each giant and slowly but surely the Blutheim soldiers took out the 2nd division. Losing nearly a quarter of their soldiers Prince Aers and Prince Kraios retreated 16 meters back to recover. Using more blood vials however halfway through recovering, the Elite soldiers of the 3rd division attacked.

Not enough time to recover, they had no choice but to drop some of the vials, in attempts to protect themselves. However the Alliance wasn't aware that Blutheim's soldiers cannot give up in the eyes of their Queen and as long as she's on this battlefield nothing will stop them from trying to reach her.

"IT'S TIME BACK UP THE FIRST SQUAD!" Princess Aphresia said as she held her sword to the air.

"HUURRRAAAAAA!" The soldiers cried out as they joined their fellow soldiers in battle.

Amongst the battle, the Blutheim's Royal's were seperated. Mother in the far back, Prince Aers and Princess Aphresia was on the far left and far right while Princess Thanaea and Prince Kraios were together in the middle.

"We need to get Mother down from there." Prince Kraios said as he split an elite soldier's head open with his sword.

"I still have a few vials left, I can try to-" Just as Princess Thanaea tried to share her plan, she immediately ducked.

A large blade dashed over her head, sliding through her gorgeous white locs as if they were indestructible threads. She put distance between herself and the soldier who tried to take her head off.

"Damn it." Hercule said as he saw back away. "I didn't want her anyway-" Hercule's suddenly put his his sword up to block Prince Kraios attack.

"Before this war ends, I'm gonna take your head off. " Prince Kraios said before he pushed Hercule's blade away to create distance between them.

"My sight is the best for this but Kraios's strength would be the best for this." Princess Thanaea thought as she deflected an elite soldier's attack, taking him off balance so she could punch her spear through his forehead. "Whatever… just this once." Princess Thanaea's eyes shone brightly as she took out another soldier.

The amount of time passed is untracked to the fighting soldiers, however the soldiers of Blutheim hadn't realized how many of their allies were killed. Neither did the royals.

"Your armor is excessive." Prince Kraios said as he dodged an attack with blood dripping from small incisions made by barely dodging Hercule's attack.

"…." Hercule stood quiet as his left ear was cut off and some of cheek was torn. Revealing his beautiful golden haired hair stained by his own blood.

"No words frr the proud heir to the Elven throne? How thrilling." Prince Kraios said as they were being ignored by the other soldiers.

"These are simply flesh wounds." Hercule said as he abruptly stopped bleeding.

"Of course." Prince Kraios said as his helmet

Hercule's eyes dimmed, losing the bright light of life that appeared in the eyes of all creatures. However his moves were the very opposite, as if his two handed sword was as light as a dagger. Hercule tried to attack Prince Kraios but missed as he evaded him.

They were spaced out again.

"I shouldn't be wasting my time with a guard dog like this." Prince Kraios said as his red eyes glowed brightly and his wounds healed as well.

"I can't wait to pluck the leaves of Blutheim." Hercule's voice was monotonous despite his vigor.

Hercule's wounds hadn't healed but they didn't seem to hinder him as Prince Kraios suddenly tried to attack his left side, with speed releasing no sound even when he got close to Hercule. However Hercule spotted him just as he launched his blade at his neck- barely dodging the attack. Hercule's throat was slit but there was no blood, not even a droplet.

He immediately tried to swing upwards- attempting to cut through Prince Kraios in one attack however, the Prince acrobatically dodged the attack. Hercule almost instantly threw another attack, trying to cut through his lower body.

Although the blade took one of his fingers off, Prince Kraios was able to time Hercule's attack by flipping over the blade, the moment he felt his feet touch the ground. He dashed towards Hercule just as he was recovering, though it didn't seem fast enough as he already had his blade pointing at the Prince's head. Who was right in front of him, he tried to strike but Prince Kraios pivoted to the left causing Hercule's blade to get stuck into the ground.

Prince Kraios didn't waste any time trying to take his head off again but instead of pulling his sword out of the ground, he attempted to block the attack with the gauntlets of his armor. However it isn't thick enough to completely block the attack as his blade ripped through half of his arm. With apace Prince Kraios pulled his sword away from him, swiveled to his right and finally slashed his head off. Lifting the curtains.

"No! Damn it, I should've finished him earlier!" Prince Kraios said as the number of Blutheim soldiers dwindled to less than half, forcing Mother into the battle.

Suddenly a heavy feeling hit his body as if he hadn't eaten. He began to salivate uncontrollably. "Mother couldn't have…" Prince Kraios thought.

"THIS IS A ROYAL DECREE, HUNT THE INVADERS!." Queen Aria echoed through all of the soldiers as she was released from her shackles.

"As you saw, we lost the war and I was banished from Sancta Principium by the ruling Kings of Blutheim. I'm not sure what became of my siblings but my mother, Queen Aria is still alive." Mother said lamentably as Kyle opened his eyes. "The only other continent there is forsaken. So this was the only place I could turn to, to keep them alive." She finished.

"Thank you, Mother. I understand now. Blutheim has not fell yet." Kyle said as he stood up from the chair.
