As the three women listened to Mother, each of them had a different reaction to what she told them. Although they were all upset about it, Ellen felt as if her heart dropped. She couldn't think of a reason why she would want to stay instead of going back to their homeland, where they were born and raised. It left her speechless.
"Are you insane? Why the hell would you say that?" Phlora asked in a perplexed tone as her eye twitched.
"I figured this would happen, this is why I told you to find an older man. If it's him that's keeping you here then we'll kill him unless you turn him and bring him with us." Somer said in a disappointed tone.
"It's not only him and you will not lay a single finger on him or anyone else, I am close to. That is a command, do you understand?" Mother asked although she kept looking away.
"Yes, My lady." Somer said.
"No, I do not understand why you would want to stay. We had a goal this entire time, we have one plan and you have a crucial role in it." Phlora said irritatingly as her heel slammed on the ground in frustration.
"Kyle, will be more able than me when he is ready and this role can be passed on to him. Just not his brother or any of you. I won't change my mind so I thought of a better plan and that's what we'll be going with from now on." Mother said stubbornly.
"…" They were quiet. They were also confused on why she would wanna stay. They couldn't understand how she could grow so attached to humans.
"We'll leave Kyle and his servants be, we won't interfere or introduce ourselves to them, they will not know about you until Kyle is ready. So even if he gets imprisoned, which might happen, unless his servants get imprisoned with him we will not help." Mother explained, she still couldn't look at them.
Phlora was upset that Mother didn't even look at them. "There's a human military made for the sole purpose to combat against the Great Island's nations so it would be possible for them to know our weaknesses." Somer spoke up before Phlorad saint anything stupid out of anger.
"He'll be exposed to our weakness but they don't affect him as they would us right now since he is still part human. So before all of his cells transform, he will probably get caught. The blood from the first king should activate when turns into a vampire and adapt to some of the more exposed weaknesses." Mother explained.
"I understand, the silver that's released to the public doesn't have as much concentration in it so it doesn't have as much effect on us either. But a prison should have enough to constrain us." Somer said as she stared at Phlora through the corner of her eye.
"That's right, so that's a step that'll be more helpful than anything but that's all for now. I can tell you need some time to think about this so you can go now. I appreciate your time." Mother said.
"Thank you my lady, I hope you think things over yourself." Phlora said as she put her hand over chest and lowered her head, then walked out the house.
"Have a good afternoon my lady." Somer said as she did the same salute.
"…" Ellen stood quiet and just saluted her before following Somer to the exit.
*Sigh* Mother let out a deep breath as if she just took a ton off of her back. "I can't help it." She said in a weak and defeated tone.
Once the door closed behind her servants, she got up to lock the door and then slowly walked back to sit down on the chair. A depressed and shameful silence erected as Mother sunk into the chair and closed her eyes.
She fell asleep almost instantly. A couple minutes quickly passed and the door was being unlocked from the outside. Then Henry walked in and took his hat off to hang on the door as he walked into the living room and saw Mother asleep.
"Looks like Kyle went out with Christian again today." Henry said as he walked to the bathroom to wash his hands.
After he washed his hands, he went to his room to change into more comfortable clothes. I'm one corner of the room was a dresser with a picture of his family. He was Christian's father and unfortunately a member of the police force which is- unbeknownst to him, an enemy of his son.
He went downstairs to make tea before sitting on the chair next to Mother, his wife.
"What a long day." He said as it was his presence that made the room calm and relaxed while he sunk into chair, and thought about the case.
The case of the man from the first night. The night where they laid on him and the same night Queen Aria first took control of Kyle.
They still couldn't connect the dots between the man from the first night and Kyle. And that's because whenever Queen Aria takes control of his body, she can transform all of his cells into vampire cells so she moves around as if she's in her own body and his muscles get thicker. Then once she stops taking control of his body, his muscles get thinner. The change makes his face a bit more meatier as well which also aids in his change in appearance. The Vampire's aura and pheromones also play a part in tricking minds. This is how he was able to stay undetected for so long even when his face was revealed. However Drey and Melissa are permanently vampires so they will always need a disguise.
A few weeks ago, it was Monday on June first- 7:40 PM. Kyle was meeting Henry in front of the 44th precinct.
"Why are you still outside? You have school in the morning." Henry said as he pulled his wallet out.
"It's almost ending so I don't have much school work and I'm gonna go to my friend's house for the night." Kyle said as he scratched the back of his neck.
"What do you need money for?" Henry said as he gave him the money before he answered.
"We might sneak out." Kyle said, unable to tell if he was joking or not.
"Oh cool." Henry said as he gave him money.
"You're not mad about that?" Kyle asked as he slowly took the money.
"I'm a detective, I'll find you if I need to. Also if you need me to bring the pain medication for your stomach, just text me." Henry said.
"I will, Goodnight." Kyle said as he shook Henry's hand .
"Goodnight." Henry said before Kyle started walking away.
Once Kyle was far enough, he turned the corner and went towards a city park. The place was practically empty because the park workers were about to close it so he knew it was possibly the best place to be right now as it was a large park that stretched about two blocks. The park was filled with beautifully tall trees which were separated by a rocky path with benches every few feet, and small animals such as Squirrels, Rabbits, birds, and Ducks from a lake that was on top of a hill. The lake was beyond the trees, in a wild field with lush gardens.
"You are neglecting your thirst for blood, I have already warned you yesterday." Queen Aria's voice echoed in Kyle's head as his throat began to feel as if it withered from a lack of water.
"Leave me alone!" Kyle thought as he rushed across the street and ran into the park.
"There's nothing wrong with taking all of their blood." Queen Aria said as Kyle ran in between a group of trees to keep everyone out of his gaze.
Her voice quickly disappeared but Kyle was leaning on one of the trees while staring at the ground to prepare himself for any more of her appearances.
"Why the hell does that damn voice keep talking to me? Am I losing my mind?" Kyle thought as he heard something land on the ground behind him.
As he turned his head, Kyle saw a Squirrel picking up a nut from the floor. As he watched the small movements that the squirrel made, he began to imagine a red liquid flowing from its body and before he knew it. Kyle was drooling like a dog. "What the hell?!" he thought as he immediately wiped the drool away with his sleeves.
"Blood is blood. May it be from Squirrels or Humans, the only difference is the taste." Queen Aria said.
"Oh no, that's disgusting." Kyle said as he licked his lips while still staring at the squirrel,
"No, it's simply just another form of life, be grateful for its essence." Queen Aria said happily.
Kyle's throat dried out quickly as he watched every movement the rodent made while he subconsciously got silently closer to the ground. "Another form?" He asked as if he was look straight at the blood flowing through its veins.
"Yes it is so don't be so shy. Just think of it like you're tasting another flavor of chips." Queen Aria said almost as her voice was smiling.
Kyle's breath reached the Squirrel slightly and made it turn its head in curiosity, however a face so large and close scared it down to its soul. It tried to run away from Kyle, unfortunately it was too slow and was raised into a dark void before it felt something clamping down on its neck.
Kyle quickly bit the squirrel's head off before he started drinking from its blood. The moment he felt the blood lathering his throat, he blacked out and his hair immediately started to turn white.
"It's just like a small snack." Queen Aria said as she sucked all of the blood from the squirrel.
She took a deep breath, to gather the aroma of blood in the city and to feel the fresh air. "The night has only just started, I can't wait."
