After a long day of hard work the people of Red Willow viallage finally begun to rest. They hopped into their straw and wool beds, snuggled close to their loved ones and begun to tread the land of dreams....except for one person that is. A young man was barely seen moving quickly the dead of night, even though the moon was full. He looked to be no older than 20 years old, had short hair, and was holding something rectangular in his hand. This man was none other than Feng Jian, and what he was holding was his smartphone.
He gripped it tightly as he went to the most dangerous place a living beeing could be right now, the cemetery. It was warned that at night ghosts, and maybe even ghouls could be seen there at this hour, especially in a full moon where there was a surge of Yin energy, but this didn't stop Jian. With a resolute look on his face he entered the cemetery from the side as not to be seen by the grounds keeper.
"Haaaaa...it's creepy alright." jokingly said Jian to no one in peculiar, only trying to calm his nerves. He hadn't come to such a dangerous place for nothing, great things could be gotten from here. ' Seven inch Yin grass, Marrow Root, Cackling Mushroom, Death Eating Moss....all these things could be found here, but no one is stupid enough to come here at this hour, except me that is.
If I manage to find some of them, I can turn them in for quite a lot of money at the Red Ginseng. '
As that last thought crossed his mind he felt angry . The memories of the thugs of the Red Ginseng beating the previous owner of this body surfaced, and a sour taste lingered in his mouth. It was a little contradictory to do business with those that had beaten you up before, but Feng Jian didn't have a choice. The Red Ginseng was the best apocathery around, and their medicine was the best I the area.
'Hmph let's forget about that...' with a shake of his head Jian focused again, and pressed something on his phone. Not a second later buddhist mantras were heard , but he didn't stop there , he tapped again, and another mantra was heard . Jian smiled at this as after a month the voice recorder app had been modified. When he had been finding with the options of the phone he had found out that the apps could be upgraded, but not for free. It cost battery to upgrade it, even though Jian didn't know how the phone charged or with what, but it required ten full charges to upgrade one option of the voice recorder; the simultaneous playback. Now that it was upgraded it played two recordings at the same time.
"Niceee....now no ghost will mess with me."
It was strange sight. In a cemetery where one would expect the howling of ghost and spirits, the surrounding were filled with buddhist mantras. It was like the beginning of a knockoff Chinese ' Exorcist ' movie. Those will all of this Jia didn't care as he begun to stroll the erie cemetery.
.....
"No this isn't it....neither is this...aaha! Now were talking!" Jian kneeled down on one kne as he looked at the small mushroom on the ground. It was a pretty small one , no more than five cm tall and a pointy cap. It was dark brown in color and it looked shriveled. Normally people who knew their stuff knew to not directly touch it with bare hands, but Jian wasn't one of them. He carefully dug up around the small mushroom and slowly picked it up. Aa soon as he did, the cap of the mushroom expanded and with a soft pop, it released it's spores everywhere.
"What the shit...cough cough..."Safe to say Jian was caught in the blast and some spores were breathed in, but after a little coughing he returned to normal. " What the hell kind of mushroom is this? It suddenly exploded with spores, the fuck?!"
Jian spat at the ground a few times as he got the taste of spore from his mouth and when he raised his head up , he saw something strange. "Fireflies...no, those are not fireflies." In front of him a light show was ensuing as the spores of the mushroom gave of light for about two seconds and then stopped. It was like a chain reaction, from where Jian stood to about five meters away from him. It didn't last long though and Jian just shrugged his shoulders. He carefully put the mushroom in a small basket he had with him, and continued on, oblivious to the danger he had just evaded.
"om ami dewa hrih
om ami dewa hrih
om ami dewa hrih
With the mantras still on the background Jian strode forward, slowly avoiding the gravestones, and keeping his guard up. He spent several hours in the cemetery that night, gathering some Seven Inch Yin Grass , and even a Marrow Root. It was pretty hard to find a Marrow Root as they hid under the ground forest of the year, but at this night it had decided to come out to bask in the abundant Yin Qi.
It was a great haul for Feng Jian as he didn't really have any more money, so he immediately headed for the Reg Ginseng in the morning. He slowly approached the building and the smell if medicine wafted towards him. ' Its an apocathery place alright. Hope that the smell of medicine hasn't made them stupid yet.'
With a smirk Jian entered the building. It's entrance was big as it was lavish , and the red colour was predominant inside. Red furniture, red tiles, even red ceiling, but that didn't matter to Jian. He was here to do business.
