Once Tyson, Jack, and Kenji arrived at the woodlands Kenji would nod as he picked up some logs and placed them upward as they would be used for training.
"Alright you two get prepared, here take these training swords this is called a bokken, it's a practice sword, hm… oh I modified them to be sharp for help in training."
Kenji said.
"I see, these boys are modeled after katanas, correct?"
Jack asked.
"Yes, these blades will be pretty easy for you to use. I'll upgrade you later" Kenji said.
"So what kind of sword techniques are you going to teach us?" Tyson asked.
"Well we can start with something fairly simple it's called air cutter possibly a little advanced for you but I'm sure you can handle it, it's one of the more simpler techniques You're cutting condensed air fast enough to turn it into a slash that vibrates in the area cutting mana within the air sending it flying towards your opponent without actually using any type of magic" Kenji said
"Oh I see it sounds interesting" Tyson said.
"I've Seen that technique before," Jack said.
"As I said it's fairly common, look towards me, I take out my blade and watch" Kenji said as he extended his blade and slowly moved his hand back and forth as he steadied his breathing and squinted his eyes he then lifted his blade and slashed it furiously with extreme speed cutting the air and slashing the air that became condensed into a tree of afar The slash was fairly cool.
"I see but I still can't understand it" Jack said
"Yes, all you did was swipe your sword really fast" Tyson said.
"I see it's harder to understand that your age, I need to think of a better way for you guys to understand seeing it isn't possible you guys Just don't have you understanding of sword techniques like some people do at least not yet okay watch when I swipe and I thrust my sword and then slash it down and not just using speed I'm using vertical force I'm using my strength as I slash I'm putting my arms deeper into it as I go down causing a intense motion in the mana to be reformed into condensed air." Kenji said as he sat down and crossed his legs.
Jack sighed as he looked at one of the logs that Kenji placed he nods as he holds out the blade he was given, Tyson would do the same as they faced back to back at the logs.
"You know what I thought of something maybe just try slashing hard enough at the air" Kenji said
"I see," Jack said as he started to slash the air with the blade.
The air slowly starts to vibrate and shake as Jack keeps swiping the air with the blade again and again but nothing.
"Damn I'm trying!!!" Jack said as he just couldn't muster the attack.
"Let me try"
Tyson said as he stood firmly as he pointed the blade out and started slashing at the air trying to cut at it.
"Huh still nothing, hmm alright I think I understand what you guys are doing wrong, use your heart but put some emotions into it" Kenji said.
Tyson and Jack nodded as they extended their blades and started swiping even faster but nothing they still couldn't cut the air.
"Man this just isn't working"
Jack said.
"I'm trying but nothing"
Tyson said.
"Fine I guess you guys don't want the super cool blades I had ready for you oh well" Kenji said
"Blades?" Jack asked
"Yes, oh I even trained under your dad, I had his blade I found it after he passed" Kenji said.
"My dad's blade… I…" Jack hold his training blade tightly and nods as he slashed the air with such ferocity one swipe, and then another and then, a woosh as the air is cut, it blasted the wood slicing it in half
Tyson was surprised that Jack was able to do it Tyson then smiles as he holds the blade out he points it out and thinks about what happened with those thugs attacked they nearly killed Felix, as he was thinking he was slashing and swiping with his blade, he was also able to cut the Air, and slash the long into two pieces.
"Good job both of you" Kenji said as he stood up and clapped.
"Now about those blades" both Tyson and Jack said.
"Oh here, and just one thing they aren't complete, well they were but they are partly broken but I know soon your class is having you make weapons so just fix those up"
Kenji said as he tossed over two broken swords the one that was given to Jack was a double edge blade but the hilt was shattered and the blade was sliced in half, it had an odd red glow to it as well now like something was locked in it.
"Wow this blade is really cool"
Jack said
"Well it was your dad's blade but I think you should customize it to your liking just keep the key parts of the blade, the blade's name is called Demons bane" Kenji said.
Tyson looked at the blade he got it was thin the hilt was torn and the blades guard was missing the blades tip was missing and it was slashed in half downward the blade was most likely worn down it had at the bottom half black trim and the tops reflective silver trim it had red marks and yellow marks painted in.
"This blade has seen better days but it has faced many challenges I can tell"
Tyson said.
"Well yes it was once my blade just got worn down over time, oh it's called hell bane" Kenji said as Tyson and Jack held the blades very tightly as their eyes lit up with excitement.
"Now your training is not done that was just one technique of many, now let's talk about proper stances"
Kenji said as he looked towards both Tyson and Jack.
