Chapter 31 - Chapter 31

Hatspehut

Apollo, my brother and his mate are alive! I can't believe that they are actually here! His muscular arms tightened around me as I cried into his chest. Odin joined in the hug. How did Saryia find him? I thought that she killed him too. Now this is a birthday present that I am in love with.

Our reunion was short lived. A loud eardrum shattering scream echoed through the dining hall. The three of us turn around to see Mercy. She looks at Apollo like he is a ghost. Her finger trembles as it points at him.

"Wh- wha- wha-! Saryia I thought he was dead! What the hell?!" She stutters out. Apollo laughs then his eyes turn black.

"What's wrong bloodsucker? Your not happy to see me?" He starts to walk towards Mercy. I watch as the horror in Mercy's face becomes more and more apparent. Saryia, however, stops Apollo.

"As much as I would enjoy watching you chew on her neck. I would like to have a nice dinner for once." Apollo sighs then turns to his mate. He sits next to her grabbing her hand. Mercy glares at me then takes her seat at the far end of the table. Jamie was nowhere in sight. Saryia, kisses my head then takes her seat at the head of the table.

"Where is Jamie?" Saryia asks. Her eyes dart at Mercy. Mercy points her thumb back up stairs. Saryia touches my hand lightly, rubbing over it with her fingers. I look back at Mercy. The uneasiness and fear in her eyes makes my wolf leap with delight. She looks at me then Apollo. Her eyes widen.

"He. . . is Hector's oldest son?! I thought he was just the Beta!" Apollo laughs then smirks at her. He shakes his head no. A loud thud causes us all to dart our eyes towards the sound. Jamie comes down with the scent of whiskey following her. I'm in shock, I never thought Jamie would be the type to get drunk.

"Sorry I'm late." She slurs her words. Saryia grins then sits back in her chair.

"Jamie dear. Are you okay?" Jamie glares daggers at Saryia. She mumbles something under her breath then takes her seat next to Mercy. Saryia chuckles and signals for the food to be brought in. The servants bring in a banquet fit for ten kings, the usual dinner for us. Apollo and his mate's eyes grew wide when a giant roast pig was placed in the middle of the table.

"You eat like this every night?" Apollo asks. Odin nods quickly grabbing the part of the pig he likes the most. I forgot that eating with Apollo can be all out war. He grabs the part that I wanted then smirks.

"Jerk." I say using pack link. He laughs then smothers his meat in gravy. I took another part of the pig then lifted up my glass. A servant fills it with water then briskly backs away. I took a few sips, feeling a cold gaze on me. I turn to the gaze and met Jamie's cold dark blue eyes. She gazes at me like I'm a piece of meat. Saryia grabs my hand, reassuring me.

"Jamie do you need something?" Saryia glares at Jamie. Jamie glares back drinking her wine in one gulp. She looks at me then looks away.

"She just going through something right now. She is alright." Mercy smiles then darts her eyes back at her plate. Apollo chuckles then looks at me.

"Do I want to know what is going on here?" He says in my head.

"It's a long story. Lot has happened in six months." I say back. He looks at his mate and smiles.

"Yep, lots has happened, and more is to come." I smile and continue eating. Saryia looks at Apollo puzzled. She tilts her head then smiles.

"Apollo, I'm dying to know; how did you escape that night?" He chuckles.

"Why should I say? Your probably going to tell the guards there how I did it." Saryia smiles.

"Please we closed down those places after we won the war. You can tell me." He smiles then takes in a deep breath.

"Every mighty castle has it's cracks. You find the crack, take advantage of the crack, the castle will crumble." Saryia ponders on Apollo's words.

"I feel enlightened, but honestly escaping from Alcatraz is no small thing." Odin's eyes widened, so did mine. I knew all about Alcatraz Prison. Nobody ever escaped from there, but Apollo and Rayne do?! My brother is the a legend!

"No, I rather keep it to myself." He smiles at the two of us. Rayne winks then continues eating.

"So how old were you when the war started?" Saryia asks him.

"Seventeen." Saryia nods then looks at Odin and I.

"So the two of you were 12 and 14?" We both nod. Saryia smiles.

"Then the two of you would be the elders of the wolves, since you guys are the oldest wolves right?" Apollo and Rayne looked at eachother then shook their heads.

"We still think that our elders might be alive, but I'm sure they aren't." He looks at us.

"They are alive." Rayne says, "And are finding a way to reclaim the world." Of course she said it in pack link. The wolf elders are the most powerful of us all. If anyone could beat the vampires it would be them.

"Yet they won't fight cause they are too busy arguing. Old fools!" Apollo says. I sigh. I'm not okay with the way things are, but I still don't want to go to war. I'll have to choose my own people or Saryia. I would be so torn, but I'm still torn between Saryia and Jamie. I won't admit it out loud, but I still do care about Jamie.

Her eyes haven't left me the entire night. Dinner went by slowly as her eyes burn into me. I didn't want to look at her, but sometime I did. Just to see if she was still looking. Saryia stood up at the table and said goodnight. She walks over to me placing her lips on mine. I hear a hiss come from Jamie. Saryia parts from me smiling at Jamie.

I still do not understand why Saryia still wants to torture Jamie. Saryia then walks over to Apollo and whispers something in his ear. He nods as Saryia pats his shoulder. She exits the room in a way only she can. She leaves in the most graceful and beautiful way. I sigh knowing that she is all mine. Mercy and Jamie leaves after Saryia. Mercy possessively grabs Jamie's arm and pulls her from the hall. After it is just Rayne, Apollo, Odin and I left, Apollo takes a sigh of relief.

"I thought that would never end!" He exclaims. We all laugh. He runs his hand through his hair.

"What is up with the two of those girls? Are they seriously fighting over you Haty?" I nod.

"And it's been going on since day one." I say slouching in my chair. Apollo burst out laughing.

"That dirty blonde looked like she was about to jump over us and attack your mate!" Rayne nods in agreement. Odin rolls his eyes.

"Jamie is upset because Hatspehut broke her heart." Odin looks at me, I flip him off. Rayne laughs. I don't want to seem like a heart breaker. I can't help what has happened. I really wish I could go back and scratch out my relationship with Jamie. She is going off the deep end because of me. I cannot stand seeing her suffer.

"So how does it work, the whole immortal thing?" Apollo asks. I sigh and remember the pain. I rub my forehead then look at him.

"You drink her blood and it mixes with ours and it does some sort of reaction that makes us immortal. Our wolves look different too, but not too different. Just white marking on our faces."

"I doesn't work for everyone though, our blood is special that is how it works for us." Odin said.

"Our family comes from a line of powerful Alphas, since the beginning of our people, so that might be it." I shrug. I yawn then look at the clock. It was getting late, almost midnight.

"I'm going to do it. When you go up to her tell her I'll do it tomorrow." I nod then stand up. I hug everyone then head up the stairs. Yet again I am caught in the powerful arms of someone and pressed up against the wall. I vision became clear again, and I saw Jamie standing before me. I struggle to get away but she has a extremely firm grip.

"Jamie, let me go!" She violently shakes her head no.

"Listen to me! I don't want things to go this way. I want to be with you Hatspehut, and I know you want to be with me!" I stare into her sad blue eyes. I feel a twinge of pain stab my heart. A part of me still wants to be with her, but another doesn't want to.

"Jamie, I... I'm sorry. I can't be with you." Pain flashes through her eyes. She breaks down and falls to her knees, clutching my waist. Her shoulders shake as she cries into my abs.

"What has she done to you? She has broken you. You promised me that you wouldn't let her." Jamie cries harder.

"Jamie, I'm not the one that is broken, it's you." She looks up at me. She slowly stands up. Her eyes linger an my face. She strokes my cheek.

"Sweetheart, I'm not broken, I'm dying without your love. The only thing that has given me purpose is you, and now she has taken you away from me." She cries into my shoulder. I hug her. Tears fall down my face. I hate this so much! I don't want to hurt Jamie, but I'm in love with Saryia, but the little part in my heart still loves her.

"Jamie, I can't do this. I'm so sorry. I love Saryia." Jamie shook her head then looks into my eyes.

"Hatspehut, I know that you are corrupted by her, but I know how to make it better. Runaway with me, marry me, mark me." Her eyes tear up again.

"Please, do- don't kill me this way. I love you more than anything. Let's just go right now." She starts to pull me to the front door. I get free of her grasp, I run to the stairs, but Jamie is in my face in less than a second. I gasp then try to get her out of my way.

"JAMIE!" I hear Saryia yell. Jamie turns and quickly gets behind me, tilting my head to the side.

"Don't take one more step!" Jamie yells back. Her breathing got hard. Her tears fell on my neck. I begin to cry again. Saryia eyes widen. My brothers come into the room along with Rayne and Mercy. Saryia slowly extends her hands towards us.

"Relax Jamie, don't do anything stupid." She slowly takes another step. Jamie steps back with me tightly in her arms.

"Stop or I'll snap her neck! We are leaving! Don't you even think about following us! You have hurt her enough!" Jamie yells.

"Jamie please!" I cry out.

"Shh its going to be okay, you need to get away from this place. Get your mind straight, soon as you do we are getting married." Saryia's eyes were steaming white. I reach out my hand to Saryia.

"Haty hush, you are going to be oaky. Baby I promise. Jamie give her here. . . NOW!"

"No! Exous, bring a car around and a sliver collar! Now!" Exous ran out of the mansion. The thunder roared outside. Saryia stayed put.

"Jamie, I know your upset, but we can talk about this. If you hurt her it will be all over!" Saryia hisses. Jamie backs up towards the door.

"No I won't let you corrupt her any more! She needs to be away from you! Her mind has been clouded! I can fix her! I will fix her!" Exous returns with a silver collar. She snatches it from him putting it around my neck quickly locking it. The silver automatically weakens me. I guess I'm still not immune to silver. Dammit. She also snatches car keys away from him. She hisses at him and falls back on his ass.

That hiss almost sounded like a roar. The lightning flashes furiously outside, thunder follows it's footsteps.

"We must be on our way now. Say goodbye Saryia, cause we won't be back!" Saryia lunges for us, but Odin and Apollo hold her back. Jamie still had a hold on my head. She opens the door and rain drenches us. She picks me up taking me to a black Dodge Charger. She opens the passenger door and puts me in. She quickly buckles my seat belt then hops in the driver side. I begin to blackout... I'm trying to keep my eyes open, but it's getting hard.

"JAMIE!" I hear Saryia scream. Jamie throws the car into drive speeding down the rocky road. The gates open, the car flies through them.

"It's okay sweetheart. Go to sleep, we will be free soon, just like you want. Just like we want." My head slouches over to the window. The last thing I see is the lightning lighting Jamie's way to where ever we are going. My mind becomes dark as I slip into darkness.
