Zachery even gave her his virginity. They were the school's primary gossip.
Zachery had a colorful life full of VIBGYOR from then on. Until prom night, that is.
One of the most important nights in school was prom. It was a teenager's dream. They get to tell everyone at school that this girl is his girlfriend, and vice versa.
Well, let's take things chronologically from here.
Zachery invited Amy to be his date, as was predicted. She nodded.
Zachery was at the peak of his abilities. He was the perfect gentleman. He had high grades and a bright career ahead of him. He was social and had a girlfriend. Zachery was adored for the first time in his life.
Zachery's girlfriend made him feel appreciated.
Zachery could sense his friendship with his best friend.
But he could also sense something was wrong, but he just shrugged it off.
He received a good N.A.I.T (National Aptitude and Intelligence Test) score, which guaranteed a good placement at a good college. He had always wanted to work in the medical sector and become a surgeon.
There was a reason Zachery was interested in this job. But that was a story for another day.
In a nutshell, Zachery was happy with his existence.
He was also falling in love with Amy more and more. It was only a crush at first, and Zachery was aware of it. But it was becoming more, and Zachery determined that it was time to take this relationship further.
He had decided that it was time to tell Amy that he loved her.
From his part-time work, he bought the best suit he could afford. He suited up and prepared himself. Amy looked lovely when he picked her up from her house.
It was a red Midi Dress (just google it. I also looked at it and found out right now.) That was adhering to her skin and making any male notice her curves.
Amy grinned and grabbed Zachery's arm as they were driven to their school by her father. Zachery was embarrassed as a result.
His classmates rode their bikes to school with their dates. Zachery, on the other hand, was an impoverished youngster. He was having difficulty fulfilling the deadlines.
Zachery and Amy had a good time at their senior prom.
But what occurred next completely ruined Zachery.
"Zach, could I please use the restroom for a moment?" As she stood up, Amy smiled and glanced at me.
"Oh, the dance is about to start, so you'll have to be quick," Zachery replied, alarmed. The dance was when he would confess his feelings for Amy.
"Yeah, I'll try to be as fast as I can, babe," Amy remarked as she kissed Zachery on the cheeks and walked to the bathroom.
Zachery then returned his focus to the talks. There were numerous remarks. The principal's address, the honor students' speeches, and the teachers' speeches. The principal suddenly remembered something while delivering his address.
Zachery, on the other hand, was completely focused on Amy.
Amy, finally free of all the shenanigans, dashed outside of the school and into the gaps between the school buses, only to be yanked off the end of one school bus.
Leon grabbed on Amy's arm and kissed her hard, but Amy didn't appear to mind.
They were both so caught up in their own worlds that they had forgotten there was another person by their side.
"I didn't expect my suspicions to be correct," Zachery said with a detached sigh. He was slanting on the bus before moving forward to look at the terrified couple.
"Zachery, this isn't quite what it seems-"
"Seriously, Amy, that's the oldest excuse in the book," Zachery cut her off with a shake of his head.
"Shut yer trap" Amy tried to say something to Zachery but Zachery's cold and rage-filled voice silenced the two of them.
They'd never seen Zachery like this before. Zachery was the sweetest and most loving person I'd ever met. Both of Zachery's 'best friends' had never seen this side of him, when he was icy and filled with rage.
"Explain, Leo," Zachery remarked with a disconnected and icy expression on his face.
"I approached Amy initially. She, too, said yes. But there was something impeding our connection, and it was you." Leon understood what Zachery was saying. He knew the answers to his questions about when and why this was happening.
"So I made a condition to Amy. Consider dating Zach. If it doesn't work out with you, there will be nothing to stop us from continuing our relationship. That was the time you told me you liked Amy. So that was ideal timing." Leon explained as he changed his trousers, which were growing uncomfortable due to his bulk growing due to previous activities.
"If she works out with you, I'd stay." But, well, I think she figured out who was good a little sooner than I expected," Leon replied, smiling mischievously at Amy as Zachery shivered with wrath.
He stifled his fury and asked, "When did you realize that I wasn't enough for you?" This time, Zachery questioned Amy as he tried to calm down.
"Since Christmas," Amy murmured, her head bowed. "So, why did you keep up this charade of a relationship?" Zachery inquired, on the verge of flipping.
"That was my fault, I advised her to keep this relationship going. It gives me a little more pleasure to think about NTR. But we were planning to come clean today. By the way, she agreed to this as well." Leon shrugged his shoulders.
Zachery sighed as he stared at Amy. His choice or matter of being itself was not regarded by his two 'best buddies'.
Amy regarded Zachery as a person who was a step below her peers. She saw herself as the queen. Despite being a gentle queen. The queen was always required to choose her own well-being over that of her subjects.
This was her attitude towards Zachery.
Leon was a little more forthright in this regard. He knew what he wanted and he did what he wanted. It was as simple as that. It didn't matter he would infringe upon others when he would do certain actions. He simply didn't care.
Amy was another case itself. Her warped benevolence was the most repulsive to Zachery. Zachery was a good person, but Amy's benevolence was perverted by nature.
The next step was natural.
It was a brawl between men.
Leon and Zachery fought until they were both bleeding. Leon learned martial arts from personal teachers, while Zachery learned from online videos. When the fight started, Zachery kept his cool and gave Leon a run for his money.
Zachery was always a fighter. It was almost as if he had been bred to fight. He was one of the best fighters in the world if we would compare pure analytical data.
Amy stepped in to stop the conflict for Leon's sake. She cursed Zachery to leave them alone and to stop clinging to her.
Zachery just stared her down for a few minutes, which made her nervous, but then he spit blood near where she was standing and walked slowly out of school.
He sat down slowly outside the school in a tiny rest area. He was in a lot of pain, so he groaned a lot when he sat down, but he was surprised to see a cigarette handed down by the class's most aristocratic girl, Emma.
"She belongs to the streets," she said, her golden eyes twinkling with mischief as she handed Zachery a cigarette.
That was also the first time he had started smoking.
