Chereads / The Ordinary Life of a Godking / Chapter 14 - Chapter 12

Chapter 14 - Chapter 12

I had learned a lot over the past week. Supernatural powers and people, myself being one of them, as well as the various types of races and creatures that existed in the world I thought I knew. None of that had prepared me for today. Today I learned something very important. Going clothes shopping with my two girlfriends was a painful experience.

"Sid? Do you like this one? Or how about this?" Liz asked, holding up an assortment of clothing she wanted me to try on.

Our trip in the car was a short one, and despite my insistence that we go to a normal place, the girls were dead set on bringing me to the mall. I hated this place, and avoided it like the plague. There were just far too many fucking people in places like this, and despite the knowledge that I could practically shit lightning down someone's throat, this many people still gave me anxiety.

I had basically played fashion model for the better part of 2 hours, trying on everything ranging from casual clothes to dress clothes, the latter physically hurt me to wear. The girls loved it, and Liz in particular had sparkles in her eyes every time she saw me in something she approved of.

I gawked at the prices that came up, and despite my protests and clear uneasiness with the situation, Liz bought everything for me without even leaving anymore room for debate. Which led me to a question I had been having.

I waited until we were back in the car before I asked her.

"Liz, why do you work a shitty factory job when you don't have to?" I asked, and to her credit, she just chuckled at me and answered pretty quickly.

"Well, part of it is just what I do. There are people like us everywhere, and they don't even know it, or in many cases, they do, but are afraid to tell anyone due to many reasons. Being scared of what people would think, afraid people would think they are crazy, the fear of being captured and tested on, which are very real fears if I'm being honest." She said, causing me to bark a laugh.

"Just call me out why don't you?"

Liz smirked.

"But, if I'm being honest, I enjoy it. It gives me a sense of normality, and it lets me work with my hands, and my eyes. I have great vision. You know, elf stuff." She said.

I, in fact, did not know anything about elf stuff, but I kept that to myself. Quite frankly, I apparently had a thing for elf stuff, at least as far as Liz was concerned.

"That's the short of it. I just like doing normal things. Being given everything you want is nice, but I like to work for some of the stuff I have. I like being independent."

"I can definitely respect that. Besides, you found me, after all." I said with a smirk.

"And I'm so glad for that." Liz replied dreamily.

"Me too." Nadia added.

I was unused to this type of affection, and naturally, I didn't know how to process it. My heart felt warm, but so did my face. The best way to deal with emotions I didn't understand? Deflection.

"So, Nadia, I haven't heard a whole lot about what you do. Do you have a job or a hobby you like?" I asked.

Nadia bit her bottom lip in thought.

"I like to help my mom with her bakery from time to time. It smells so nice in there. My dad is only around. My dad is a doctor that specializes in treating people like us, so I can't really help him with that. Other than that, when I'm not doing that, I'm either with Liz, playing video games, or at a concert. I love metal concerts." Nadia said, and my heart beat quickened.

Was it to early to profess my love for her yet? Probably, but that right there was a good way to earn my affection. A gamer, loves the same music. Truly glorious.

"I can't tell you how many times I've wanted to go do something with her, but she says, 'after this match.' It's so cute watching her concentrate so hard on her games." Liz said teasingly.

Nadia went red.

"I take multiplayer games very seriously. What kind of teammate would I be if I just left?" Nadia shot back.

It was at this point that I began to wonder if Nadia wasn't a Kitsune, but instead a unicorn. However, the more I thought about it, I realized that those were probably real too.

"It's kinda cool your mom runs a bakery." I told her. She smiled at me.

"She does enjoy what she does. She makes the best stuff. All of what you ate at Liz's house was made by my mom. And she helps me learn so much. Baking has always interested me."

"Don't try her apple fritters." Liz whispered to me, and Nadia's ears twitched as she shot her friend a dirty look.

"What did you say, pointy?" Nadia asked in a shockingly cold voice, but there was a smirk there.

The good hearted banter lasted for a little while longer as Liz continued driving, and it was at this point that I realized that I had no fucking idea where we were going. We still had our date and dinner to look forward to, and then I was mortified as I realized I hadn't figured out either of those yet. I had no idea what the hell we were going to do, nor where we were going. I didn't voice this though, because Liz did seem to know exactly where we were going, even if I did not.

I was lost in thought for a while, just feeling the twists, turns, and bumps along the road, but eventually, Liz drew me out of my head.

"Hey, Sid, we're here. I figured you probably didn't have any idea of what we should do, so I made the choice for us. I hope that's okay?" She said.

I scratched my cheek.

"Yeah... I'm not to good with choosing... oh!" I exclaimed, my inner child screaming at what I saw.

As if I didn't like this woman already, she took it a step further and brought us to a mini golf course. My parents would often take me to places like this, and it was always a blast. I hadn't shared that part with either of the girls, so I assumed it was just a coincidence. Or, perhaps, it was just fate... no, definitely a coincidence. I don't believe in that sort of thing, fantasy creatures and all. I have always believed that people choose their own fates and forge their own paths in life, and gaining overpowered magic that I didn't even fully grasp didn't change that.

"I wasn't sure if you would like this or not, but I can see I made the right call. Who doesn't like mini golf? Plus, I figured it was a safe choice for a first date." Liz said with a smile.

"First dates." Nadia corrected, and Liz rolled her eyes.

"No, this is perfect. Although, and I'm not saying this to be mean, I hope you two are ready to lose." I said, smirking.

"Oh, is that a challenge?" Liz asked with a gleam in her eyes.

It was both sexy and terrifying at the same time. I realized once again that I definitely had problems, but if those problems led me to where I was right now, that was fine.

"I don't lose." Nadia said in a matter of fact tone.

"Well then lets get this show on the road." I declared as I opened the door and stepped outside.

If I said I wasn't having the best time of my life, I'd be the biggest fucking liar in existence. The chemistry I shared with these two was something I had never once shared with a single person, yet here I was with two incredible women. And they didn't mind the arrangement at all, and if anything, it was juat as natural for them as well. They had been friends for a long time, and the love they had for each other was clear for anyone else to see.

What followed was two of the best hours of my life. We had gotten our clubs, our balls, and made our way to the first course. It was just a straight shot, so all 3 of us got an easy hole in one. The next two were similar, but with many bumps and curves on the course. I got a hole in one on both, while Nadia got them in 2 and 3 respectively, and Liz got a hole in one, and then in 2 in the next hole. I was very impressed either way.

Eventually, the courses became wild, and since I'd never been to this particular course before, I didn't know what to expect. The final one had you hitting the ball into a anamatronic dragon's mouth, where it would then turn its head and spit it back out onto the course where it would have dodge and weave between smaller dragons attached the mechanical pullies that went back and force across the course.

"How high off their ass was the person that made this?" I asked aloud, watching as Liz was concentrating but growing frustrated.

She was already at 9 and still hadn't gotten the ball into the hole. Nadia gave up after 15 tries, and of course, they insisted I go last this time. They probably just wanted to laugh at me, which after my boasting, was probably well deserved. To be honest, I was screwed. There was no way I was gonna be able to do this complicated ass shit.

I should have been okay with it. It was just a stupid game, but something in my mind thought otherwise.

" I don't fail. I don't lose. I am the fucking King after all." I muttered, then I shook my head.

Where the fuck was this coming from? I know I can be cringe sometimes, but Jesus fucking Christ, this was getting annoying. Especially over a goddamn game of mini golf. Still, that part of me wasn't having any of it, and suddenly, my vision flashed.

I was both looking through my own eyes and watching myself at the same time. It like that time when I learned how to fly.

"Really? Over this?' I groaned, but I still payed close attention.

I watched as I brought my golf club back anc swung, and what happened was both sinple, yet ridiculous. All I did was bounce it off of the dragon at a specific angle, causing it to bounce off towards the hole and when it landed, it landed directly into the hole, netting me a hole in one.

I snapped back to myself, and I couldn't help but groan in annoyance. Not only did I have lightning powers, but I also possessed some kind of foresight ability, and whether it's the future or just a possible one I wasn't too sure. Either way, here I was, using that miraculous ability to try and win a goddamn game of mini golf against my girlfriends.

Was I going to use it to win? Of course I fucking was. I'm irresponsible, not stupid. I took my golf club in hand, and drew back, calling upon the knowledge I had ingrained into my memory ever since I saw that vision. It was strange, but as I preformed the exact same swing needed to get the best result, it was as if I was pressing reply on that moment, but it was being enacted in real time. I had no fucking idea how it made sense, but it was neat.

I watched with an admittedly stupid shit eating grin on my face as the ball did exactly what I foresaw, bouncing off the dragon and flying right into the hole. I whooped as it sank in, and I couldn't supress my laughter when Liz and Nadia turned to look at me with eyes wide like they were in a manga.

"W-what?" Liz said, a look of shocked awe on her perfecg face.

"That's not fair! I don't know how you did that, but that's cheating!" Nadia yelled, and I had to admit, this look was so cute for her.

"To be fair, nothing says I had to do it the normal way. I improvised." I said, still laughing.

The pout Nadia gave me just made me laugh harder as well as make me want to pinch her cute cheeks. Liz just looked resigned, as if she had already expected me to do something ridiculous. Soon though, both of them joined me in laughing. It was so fucking wild that it was hard not to laugh.

"I have to admit, I didn't see that one coming." Liz said, hand over her mouth as if trying to hide her giggles.

Even Nadia was slightly smirking, although she still didn't seem to be as impressed with. I was quite impressed with myself if I do say so myself, and again, it's just a dumb game of mini golf. However, it was fun. Some of the most fun I've had in my life. My world had only changed a few days ago, and it's like some cranked my life up to 11 with how fast it was going now. I was just happy to be along for the ride.

Soon enough we were turning in our clubs and heading back to Liz's car. It was about 6 pm now, so we definitely spent longer than I thought we did. And what did I get for winning? Nothing except bragging rights, which suited me just fine.

"So, where to next?" I asked as I got into the backseat and everyone was situated.

I could see Liz smirking in the rearview mirror while Nadia looked nervous, her cheeks heating.

"Well, you had mentioned dinner, and I am pretty hungry, and Nadia and I talked about it last night... did you know Nadia's mother is a better cook than even mine?" Liz asked.

I could already see where this was going.

"I-uh- no, I didn't know that." I said, stammering the words.

"You've probably already guessed, but that's where we are going. God I hope my mom doesn't embarrass me too much..." Nadia said in a soft voice.

I coughed.

"Uh-y-yeah. Sounds great." I replied.

In truth, I didn't think any woman could top Ryanna, but I would soon come to find out that, well, she seemed reserved in comparison.
