I smashed my head against the wall of a building about 15 minutes away from the bank that I reached in about 2 minutes. My face was flushed, and the amount of embarrassment I felt couldn't be categorized with words.
"What the fuck kind of cringey ass shit was that?" I muttered, hitting my head against the wall again.
I didn't regret what I did at all. Saving those people was worth it, and it felt right, but my choice of words.
"I am the King."
"God kill me." I groaned, practically whimpering. Maybe I could just disappear and never come back.
I sighed as I backed away from the wall, noticing how it was cracked and smashed inwards. My head felt perfectly fine, but I still wish I would have spilt it open and bled to death.
What the hell was going on? What does the whole king thing mean, and why do I keep thinking about it? It's goddamn stupid, yet in those moments, it's like some weird ass alter ego takes over my thoughts.
"I really hope they misheard me." I muttered, then I reached into my pocket.
I pulled out my phone. I'm glad it still worked, and strangely enough, my battery was at around 67% when I went out, but now it was completely charged again.
"Nice. I'm a glorified phone charger." I said, chuckling at that notion.
Then, I grimaced as I thought about my poor car. I didn't even stay around to check out the damage, and then, a sinking feeling hit me.
"I really hope everything was destroyed..." I said.
Not only were there a few things that could link the car back to me, but I may have had some... well, lets just say I had some reading material in my trunk that would be quite embarrassing for me if people found it. I pondered what I should do, and then I made a decision.
Pulling up my contacts, I pulled up Elizabeth's number and dialed it. The phone rang only three times before it was answered.
"Sid?" Elizabeth's beautiful sing song voice asked me, and that calmed my racing heart.
"Hey, Elizabeth, I may uh... need your help again." I said.
I heard shuffling, like she was moving from her current spot, and then it stopped and she spoke again.
"Will you please call me Liz like everyone else? I prefer it and plus... it's you." She said, and I could tell just by how she talked that she was red in the face, "What happened?"
"I'd rather tell you in-person, but uh...the necklace you gave me...well, it shattered." I answered sheepishly, my own cheeks burning.
"What?? How?? Sid, what did you do?" Liz asked, her voice sounding extremely concerned.
"Nothing bad... although, I'd still like to talk to you about it when I see you." I replied, then I grimaced as I elected that I should probably leave certain things out.
"Okay, well, you have me very curious, and you can't very well go around looking like you do. Please, head over to my place. It's only 2, but it should be fine. I've just been talking woth Nadia about... uh, well, just come over." She said, and that made me raise an eyebrow, although I wouldn't say no to seeing Nadia again.
"I'll be there soon. Thank you, Liz." I said, and then I hung up, and took a deep breath.
"Okay, so, the question is... how am I gonna get there without anyone else noticing?" I wondered aloud.
My vision flashed, and suddenly, I was flying through the air, using my powers to launch me through the skies at incredible speeds. I could feel how I directed my mana through my body to create my flight, lightning trailing behind me. Suddenly, I was back in the alley way, and I promptly fell on my ass, panting.
"What the actual fuck was that?" I yelled to no one but myself.
As if in response to my question, that vision played through my mind, but yet, it felt so real. Like I was actually doing it. My eyes flashed and a grin spread on my face as I jumped back up.
"I remember exactly how I was doing it. I know what I need to do. That might have been just the answer I needed." I said, once again deciding to just use the gift for what it was. My life was becoming goddamn weird anyways, so really, what's more?
I concentrated, and sent power to the various parts of my body that created my flight. I altered my bodies gravitational pull by changing how my body's electromagnetic pull was effected by it, and I laughed as I slowly began to rise into the air.
"WOOOO!" I roared, unable to contain myself. Don't lie and tell me you never wanted to just be able to fly.
I added lightning to my feet, and I channeled my power through my legs and feet, I commanded it to send me upwards. I yelped as I shot up into the air at an alarming speed, stopping suddenly in the air.
"Holy shit... I can see all of Wyoming city from up here." I muttered in astonishment.
Remembering what I was doing, I angled myself in the direction of Liz's house, kicked my feet behind me, and surged forward.
I shot through the air like a missle, dodging various flocks of birds along the way. The airplane directly above me went by in a flash, and I was surprised when I could already see Elizabeth's small village she called a house in the distance. Her house was at least 40 minutes away from where I was, and yet, I was here in what felt like less than 2 minutes. I was already getting better and faster at this.
I slowed my speed, and then as I got closer, two problems presented themselves. For one, I wasn't sure where exactly I was supposed to land. And secondly, the vision didn't come with a landing tutorial. No matter what happens,I should be fine, but I didn't want to break or destroy anything.
I wasn't yet confident in just hovering in the air, and I was approaching her house fast. I made a decision and banked right. Circling around her house, I found an absolutely enormous pool, and behind that, was a large open space of grass. Trying to slow my fal ll more, I began to descend, and I truly hoped that they wouldn't be too upset at my impromptu landing in their back yard. I noticed some people lounging in chairs, and when I looked closer, I could tell who they all were. It was all the girls and then once I took in their apparel, ny mouth went dry.
The three people I noticed were Liz, Nadia and Ryanna. Liz was the only one covering most of her modesty, and I assume that was to greet me. Nadia wore a red two piece bikini, showing off her perfect slightly tanned skin. Her two tails wiggled freely behind her, which in turn drew my attention to her absurdly perfect ass. Her perfect hand sized breasts were barely contained in her skimpy suit, and her perfectly flat stomach was completed by a green jeweled piercing in her belly button. My pants suddenly fit me a lot more snugly.
"Don't you fucking dare look at her mom." I thought to myself.
Just as I was about to contradict myself, my brain caught up to what I was doing a little too late.
"Fu-" I was saying, but then my words died as I crashed into the ground behind their house.
Grass and soil flew back around me. I was thankful that I had slowed down considerably, but that didn't stop me from creating a small crater around the spot where I landed. It was probably at least 7 feet down. It didn't hurt, but I was pretty jostled nonetheless. I groaned as I rolled over on to my back.
"Goddamn it." I said, wiping dirt and off of my face. Pretty sure my face was covered in the stuff, because I also couldn't see shit.
"What the hell?" A voice asked from not too far away. I think it was Ryanna, but it could have been Liz. I wasn't sure as I think my ears were filled with dirt as well.
I felt a presence nearing me.
"SID??" I voice asked from mere inches away from me. That voice I knew belonged to Nadia.
Soft hands wiped at my face, and eventually, she succeeded in fully helping me clear all of the crap off of my face, and I could see once again.
"Uh..." I said, and it was at this point that I determined that I really, really needed some fucking water.
Nadia was on her knees next to me, bending over me with clear concern on her face as she continued to wipe me down. However, from this position I was currently in, my eyes were drawn to her chest. Her breasts, which seemed more pronounced than I recalled, dangled far too close to my face as she was running her hands through my hair to get the dirt out. My wiener twitched.
"Sid, what the hell happened?? Are you okay?" I heard Elizabeth voice, now sure it was her, as she knelt on my other side. I was grateful that she her body was more covered than Nadia's, the latter's boobs still in my peripheral vision.
"I...uh, y-yes." I said, putting my hands behind my back.
They both gave me space as I rose to a sitting position. I shook my head, then tilting my head and shaking to free the dirt from my ears. Once I could hear the world more clearly, I looked back at both of them, worry still plain on their pretty faces.
"Do you always have to destroy my property?" Ryanna asked from atop the hill, but when I looked at her, she was just grinning at me. I have to give her credit, she kind of endearing. I was also glad that she wore a large robe that was tied off, covering her modesty.
I pushed myself off of the ground, standing to my full height, and dusted myself off.
"Sorry. I kinda learned how to fly and-" I said, but was cut off by shocked gasps from the two girls near me.
"YOU CAN FLY??" Liz asked, her eyes wide.
"THAT'S AMAZING!" Nadia said equally as enthused.
My cheeks once again burned from their sudden praise, and I scratched the back of my head.
"Y-yeah. Some crazy shit happened today." I responded, and they both calmed down.
"What happened? You said your necklace broke." Liz asked, her tone now serious.
"Can we go inside or something?" I asked, feel awkward standing in this crater with a half naked, smoking hot fox girl.
"What the hell was all the noise? Dear... oh, I see. Hello, Sid." Thadwick said as he approached, taking a place beside his wife.
I meekly waved at him.
"Hey... sorry about the hole." I grimaced.
Surprisingly, he just waved it off.
"It's a little annoying, but my staff can have this fixed pretty quickly. On another note..." Thadwick said, his fixed on me more intently, "I got a phone call from my friend that works in the Magic Response Unit of police department. I heard something very interesting today." Thadwick said, narrowing his eyes at me, "I heard your suggestion, and I think going inside would be a wise idea."
I gulped, but then nodded, and walked out of the crater with Nadia and Elizabeth. I followed Thadwick and his wife back to their living room. Nadia and Ryanna excused themselves for a quick moment to dry off and get dressed. Leaving me sitting awkwardly next to Liz in their living room, Thadwick sitting across from us.
The other two swiftly returned, and Ryanna sat next to Thadwick, and lazily laid her head against his shoulder. Nadia sat next to me, and she decided to sit so close to me that our thighs were touching. She was incredibly warm, and a tingle went up my spine upon contact.
Thadwick cleared his throat.
"As you are aware, the paranormal and supernatural does exist, although we try to keep it hidden as best we can. Some bad actors make it quite difficult, but we have done well so far. As is the nature of sentient beings, many are good, and many are also bad. More criminals have access to mana than you might realize." Thadwick said, looking at me intensely. My hands shook slightly.
"There is one in particular that is relevant to this conversation. A certain criminal, goes by the name of Iceblood, decided today that he was lacking in funds. So, what does he do with his incredible control over ice magic magic? He ATTEMPTS to rob a bank." Thadwick intoned, emphasizing the word attempts.
"The MRU handled it though, didn't they?" Liz asked, confused as to why they were talking about this.
Thadwick gave a half nod.
"They did, in a way. They cleaned up in the aftermath." Thadwick answered.
"Aftermath?" Nadia asked, equally confused.
"Yes. You see, reports said that a blur that looked like a lightning bolt dashed passed everyone, smashed through the front of the bank, and neutralized Iceblood in a single strike to the face. He then caused all of the peoplenhe brought with him to give up and throw down their weapons. One apparently tried to fight back, and he was blasted back by this powerful lightning user. Both he and Iceblood were dead when the authorities went to detain them, but the person who stopped the robbery had already left." Thadwick said.
Ryanna suddenly jolted upright and looked at me in shock. Everyone else also stared at me like I had grown a second head. Thadwick continued, and what he said next was probably the worst part of the whole story.
"Before he left, they asked him for his name. He called himself, 'The King."
My cheeks burned as bright as the sun as embarrassment settled over me like a 3,000 ton blanket.
"T-thats interesting. What a stupid name." I said, stuttering, my forehead beginning to sweat.
Thadwick nodded.
"Indeed. Quite interesting indeed, and the name... very egotistical." He mused, causing me to grimace.
He wasn't wrong, and even I had no idea what the hell it actually meant. In those moments, when my power reaches new heights, it's like my brain becomes someone else while also being me. Regardless of what it was, it was no doubt embarrassing.
"I think the most interesting thing, however, was that all of the people this person saved described the exact same thing. A man shrouded by electricity, with long flowing white hair that seemed to defy gravity, and glowing blue eyes that resembled condensed lightning. Oddly enough, no one truly seen the person's face as it was shrouded by his power, although a little girl said she seen this person, and said he was a pretty man who was very kind." Thadwick said, then, seemingly finished, he folded his hands on his lap.
Ryanna, Nadia, and Liz looked at me incredulously. My face burned so fucking bad that I felt like I may have to go to the emergency room to get treated for 3rd degree burns.
"So, Sid, what do you think of this?" Thadwick asked me, his tone calm.
I just chuckled nervously.
"It's... pretty wild."
