Chapter 3 - 0003 - Complications

"Get into formation!" Jay called out as everyone lined up in a neat twenty five by four lines. "Today, we will be learning about how to deal with insectoids. But something has come up on my radio. Captain Milly who was originally supposed to be coming on Monday, will be here on Friday!" Shit, Vito and Zack thought. Before they had six days and it was a perfect advantage. But now? Fridays were days when everyone was supposed to be going on a day long exercise. Everything was falling apart.

Vito needed to change things up. His expression didn't change one bit but he was cursing inwardly quite a bit. Several things changed and everything was ruined. But that was fine for now. Vito merely needed to change some things. He'd need to abandon a lot of unnecessary items and he also needed to find a new way out. Damnit, Vito thought. He had three days. He needed to escape on Friday, if not... then he'd stay here forever. Waiting for years until he was trained enough to go outside.

And if he fails to escape. It's only death anyway. Vito clenched his teeth as he grabbed a mop and started to clean the training field. Jay wanted this place to be squeaky clean when the Captain gets here. But Vito had another plan. Vito quickly finished up his area and hoped for the best. Fortunately Vito was sent to clean the outside courtyard. There, he should be able to find a new way out. While the Bastion was very secure and advanced in technology, they weren't willing to dig up holes in the bushes looking for contraband.

That, my dear friend, was their biggest mistake. Vito had a new plan this time. The items needed were explosives. Fortunately, Vito knew where to get them. On Friday, the facility was going to launch several fireworks into the air to celebrate Captain Milly, this will be the perfect time to grab explosives and get out. However, Vito also needed to think of how to avoid the guards.

Cameras... There were three cameras in the entire facility. Mostly due to cameras being unobtainable in the outer Bastions. Like the Bastion the facility is located in. Vito needed to cripple the cameras and neutralise the guards whilst grabbing the fireworks. Vito tapped his foot on the grassy floor as he cleaned up the garbage around. Vito closed his eyes and opened them as he gained an epiphany.

What if... they used the other clones as distraction? Vito's group could pretend to be 'traitors' and tell on someone they don't like. Doing this will make the person be on the forefront for when everything happens. And the guards will ignore Vito's group, allowing safe passage. However, this brings up another question. Can those three be trusted? Will they snitch on Vito? That was the problem.

Vito had a backup plan if he was betrayed, but since the arrival was put on Friday, he no longer had any backup plans. So? This is where Coco comes into play. One of the only reasons Vito didn't plan on 'betraying' Coco, was because of her potential. If Zack, Scott, or Maya betrayed him, he was confident he could take on one or two of them. But if all three betrayed him, then Vito could use Coco.

The undead boy had everything coming up as he smiled in his head. Nothing was going to stop him from gaining freedom. Nothing, and certainly no, damn, one. Vito was unaware that Scott was scheming against him too. "Vito is planning on betraying us!" Scott told Maya. Maya looked stunned and asked. "Are you sure?" Scott nodded. "I am sure." Maya looked uncertain. But this was her brother she was talking about.

How could he lie to her? "What should we do?" Maya asked, biting her lip nervously. "We need to tell Zack about this, but I'm pretty sure he's already been turned against us by Vito." Scott looked like he was thinking seriously. "We need to save Zack, and to do that. We need to kill Vito and end his spell over Zack." Maya nodded with determination, she loved Zack. She was willing to do whatever it takes to save him.

"Good. When the time comes, we'll save Zack and end Vito's reign of tyranny. Okay? Dear... sister." Maya nodded as Scott patted her head. And the two had a plan. But Vito was already preparing to end the two if things got too destructive. But... They also had secrets of their own. As Maya left, Scott closed his eyes as a blue interface in his retina appeared.

[Super Harem Villain Lord System. Current quest: End the two Era Lords, Vito Sparks and Zack Dragon. Reward: Maya's undying love, Mega Dragon Pill, and the God Slaying Sword.] Scott smiled sadistically, he was going to have an incest relationship. If Vito knew of this, he'd be thoroughly creeped out. Meanwhile Maya was looking nervous.

In her neck was a necklace, someone was talking with it. "Your brother, he was telling the truth." Her 'mother,' Alice, was in the necklace. Alice asked Maya not to tell Scott that she was still alive. And Maya trusted her mother a lot. Unaware that her mother was a demon in disguise, infiltrating the facility to kill all clones before they matured. And she wanted to end Vito, Zack, and Scott. They were all Era Lords.

Back with Vito who was preparing, he had already been looking around. If he wanted to get out, he needed to find more enemies. Fortunately, the facility locked them all up somewhere. Vito wanted to gain access to the storage and grab some extra racial talents for the road. Clearly, Long Tongue ain't going to help a lot. Rot Attack is pretty useful, but it was useless against a majority of monsters. It'd be good if Vito got a power amplifying racial talent.

He heard that Vampires' racial talents were night vision and insane physical strength. Vito would like either of them, but he was leaning towards night vision rather than physical strength. But if he got strength, he wasn't going to complain. Vito had a way to enter the storage room. But it was dependent on if he had enough stealth. Fortunately, he was an undead. He didn't need blood to live at all.

Vito slowed down all of his vital signs and stopped his heart as he entered the shadows. A skill he learned to avoid Coco as much as possible during the night. Fortunately, lighting was expensive, making the guards use the cheapest lights they could find. This would be a bad mistake, Vito leaned against the wall and hid himself. By now, he was truly 'dead.' The guard guarding the storage yawned, he was too complacent. A good variable for the boy. Vito crept up behind the man and with a swift strike to his neck, he ended the guard's life.

'First human has been felled. Racial talent taken. [Training Regime]. This is a unique talent, you have a 0.1% chance to gain a unique talent from any first kill. Training Regime is a talent that makes you train a basic skill all the way to the max, in turn the skill will turn into a 'racial talent' and can be equipped.' Damn, Vito thought seeing the skill. Unfortunately, there wasn't a second skill box yet. Vito decided to equip the Training Regime instead of Rot Attack, if he didn't get a good racial talent.

Rot Attack wasn't equipped when he killed the guard. Otherwise the undead buff would link Vero and the murder together, that wasn't what Vero wanted at all. Vero grabbed the keys to the storage room and entered. There were an extra three guards in there. But Vero didn't need to kill any of them. He silently trekked in the darkness to the two new species. The insectoids and moon wolves. Vero ended one of each of the new species. Mostly with a swift strike to their necks. They had different anatomy, but they still had necks- er, somewhat.

'First insectoid has been felled. Racial talent achieved. [Insectoid Body]. Insectoid bodies are very powerful. By possessing this you can lift three times your own weight, go twice as fast as before, and have the endurance of two of yourselves.' This was a perfect racial talent, also why insectoids were considered one of the strongest species to ever invade Earth before.

'First moon wolf has been felled. Racial talent achieved. [Hunter's Sense]. Increase your senses by three times, becoming an effective hunter in the wilderness.' Another powerful talent, if Vito had more skill boxes, he could've easily escaped when the time comes. But it was useless. Vito didn't know how to gain more skill boxes. Should he ask?

How to gain more skill boxes? Vito thought sarcastically, but he felt a sensation. It was the sense of killing something. Vito immediately thought about it, it was a hint. Something about killing. Unfortunately, Vito didn't have the answer right now. And he didn't have the luxury to think of an answer at all.

Vito clicked his tongue and left silently. It would be very bad if more monsters died. Vito left the storage room and grabbed the dead corpse. He avoided the guards and cameras as he reached the outside yard. He buried the corpse in the bushes as he left. Time was ticking, and he needed to get things done faster.
