Chapter 9 - "CHAPTER 7:PART 2"

(From Axels POV)

We plunged into the mysterious portal without a second thought. Suddenly, we found ourselves in a faraway home that looked familiar. I glanced at Aana and noticed her pensive expression. I joked, "Are you bummed that you didn't get to kick that psycho doctor's butt?" She revealed that she had wished for a portal to bring us to her home when she shut her eyes. I wondered if it was a freaking ability from her previous timelines. I remembered She had many amazing abilities, but this one was beyond my imagination! I had never visited her place before, but her friends recognized it as her house. To make sure, I asked her to think about it again and a miracle happened. A portal opened up and Aana shrieked with joy. "See, I told you!" Emma and Hannah shouted in unison. "Wormhole!" The three of us, Aana and Della, looked utterly baffled. Della frowned and asked, "What the hell is a wormhole? I've never heard of it. I only know about asshole, and that's a bad word, you know." Me and Aana cracked up and Della joined us. Then Hannah and Emma said, "Hey, morons, stop laughing. OK, to put it in simple words, it's a bridge that can connect two different points in the universe." They said, explaining this all. Till now I've seen many amazing abilities but this one wormhole manipulation was the rarest there could've been in past timelines

After arriving at a different safe place, I had to leave them and finish my urgent task. I had to warn that damn Dr Oliver De Vil and convince time to let me handle it my way. Aana begged me to stay back, saying it was too dangerous to go out at night with the undead and Oliver lurking around. I chuckled at her innocence and reminded her that I was an undead myself. She blushed and apologized for not thinking clearly😶😅. I told them to stay indoors and promised to bring them some groceries the next morning. As I was about to leave, I got lost in my thoughts for a moment. She noticed and asked me if I needed help with anything. I smiled, thinking how she still wanted to help me after I had been saving them for the fourth time now. Then she added quickly, "Not that I can do much anyway, I'm a useless person I cannot even help myself many times." Everyone burst into laughter. I realized that it was this innocence of hers that made me fall for Aana.

She wouldn't let me go without having a cup of coffee. She said it was the least she could do for me after I saved her and her friends. I reluctantly agreed and took a sip of the steaming liquid, feeling its warmth in my cold body. I bid them farewell and thanked them for their hospitality. They all looked at me with admiration and gratitude, unaware of my dark secret. I left their cosy apartment and headed to the cold streets. I activated one of my special abilities: enhanced speed. I ran faster than any human could, leaving a blur behind me. I reached the governmental science building in minutes, where the commandos guarding the entrance recognized me and opened the door for me. Oliver was waiting for me in his lab, surrounded by his gadgets and experiments. He saw me and walked towards me with a curious expression. "Why are you here so late?" he asked. "Have you forgotten who I am?" I replied. "I'm a scientist too, Oliver. A better one than you. I use science to enhance my abilities and to make myself stronger, faster, and smarter. This zombie virus that you unleashed on the world is one of my creations. And I have more power and authority than you in this organization. I never wanted any recognition or accolades like you did. I left those to you." Dr Oliver De Vil smiled thinly and said, "I remember everything, my friend. But why did you ruin my plans? I know you saved that girl and her friends ." I said, "That's what I came to tell you. Listen carefully, Oliver. Don't mess with me. Don't mess with them. I'll decide what to do with Aana and her friends. But you better stay away from her." He smirked and said, "So the heartless undead has fallen for a cutie with sparkling brown eyes, porcelain white skin and an hourglass figure. She's not very tall though, just 5'4". Is that your type?" I felt a surge of anger and grabbed his collar. "Don't you dare say her name with your filthy mouth," I snarled at him. He sensed the danger in my eyes and tried to lighten the mood. "Okay, okay, chill. I won't say anything," he said. He knew that provoking me would be signing his death warrant. I released his collar and walked away from him. I headed to my room, where I could be alone with my thoughts.....
