Chapter 14 - NEW FRIENDS

The following day I woke up bright and early for school. I washed up, brushed my teeth then got dressed. I went downstairs to find Mom in the kitchen making breakfast. she was already dressed.

"Hey, mom." I greeted

" hey honey." she greeted back turning around to smile at me. " I see you are ready for school." she pointed out

" yes. want to start early. I wouldn't want to be late on my first day. I have to make up for the next days of being late." I said as I smiled

"What?! Are you planning on going to school late?" she asked shocked

" No. I'm just kidding." I replied while laughing

" ok." she said

She quickly took the meal she just finished preparing and then set it on the dining table.

" Set the table, will you? I have to make sure those males upstairs are ready for the day." Mom told me

" yes, Mom. I got it." I replied

I set the table with plates, cups, tea, and napkins. soon after Mom, Dad, and Grey come downstairs for breakfast. We quickly sat down to eat. Mom said her grace then we dig in.

" wow. The food is amazing as always darling." Dad complimented Mom as she blushed.

" thank you dear." she replied.

I laughed seeing how they are so into each other.

" I pray I find someone who I can be in love with forever like you guys. I'm so jealous. Get a room!" I said covering my face.

" yea, get a room!" grey commented

I burst out laughing while my parents just looked at him dumbfounded.

Mom quickly recovered then said, "Just don't get a troublemaker like yourself or we won't accept him."

" Mom!" I got annoyed. " You don't have to be like that. I'm full." I quickly got up leaving the table.

"You have to finish..." Dad stopped midway talking as he looked at my plate seeing I already finished eating.

" I don't play with food." I said cheeky as I took my backpack to head for school.

" I can see that." Dad signed

" you better hurry up if you don't want to be late for work considering you have to drop Grey at preschool first!" I shouted as I went out.

I walked to school and it took me twenty minutes to get there. So much for a small town. Reaching there I was already exhausted and I just wanted to sit down. I went to the principal's office to get my schedule. I didn't waste my time then I went to my assigned locker to put my unused books in it then I went to my first class. It was biology.

I looked around to see if there is anyone I may know. I didn't see anyone. Soon after the teacher came in.

"We have a new student. Stand up wherever you are." He said in boredom. He looked like he didn't want to be here in the first place. I stood up and then introduced myself.

"My name is Tiffany and I've just moved here this week," I said then sat down.

"Well, that's it, students. Now keep quiet and don't annoy me." He said as he started the lesson.

Okay?

I turned to my side to face the girl sitting beside me.

"What's his deal?" I asked her

"oh, Mr. Frank? He is the 'I don't care' type. I wonder if he is like that to his mate too." She explained

"Is he southern? You don't sound southern either." I said

"What are you talking about?" she asked

"You said mate," I replied

She just looked at me with a confused face then faced the front. I did the same and focused on the class. Soon enough class ended and the next class was chemistry which we were having it in the lab. Reaching the lab, I looked around to see if there is a familiar face in this class. Maybe a long-lost friend or someone? I didn't see anyone I know so I just went to sit at a random table.

Suddenly I felt a presence beside me. I turned to my side to look who it was. Standing there was Andrew with a dashing smile on his face.

"Drew!" I called to him hugging him in the process.

He embraced me quickly.

"hey, raindrop." He replied. "You can let go now. We will continue the hug later." He said with a smirk.

I quickly let go. "Sorry," I said with a flushed face. I looked around to see if anyone saw us and unfortunately, other students were looking at us. Some were snickering.

"so you here." He pointed out

"yea. I thought I was going to die of being lonely. I'm glad you have this class. Why were you not in the biology class?" I asked.

"We must have different periods for that class," he replied.

"I see. All in all, I'm glad you are here." I said with a wide smile on my face.

"hey. Would you like to be my lab partner?" he asked.

"do you even have to ask? I would love that!" I replied,

"Great then." He said. "welcome to chemistry partner." He said as he sat down.

"Thanks, partner," I said as I sat down too.

Suddenly a read head with a freckled face popped between us.

"Is this your new girlfriend Drew?" he asked with an annoyed look on his face.

"good morning to you too Charlie." He said

"Is that why you are ditching me for her as your lab partner?" he asked

"No Charlie. She is not my girlfriend." He replied. "yet." He commented as he looked at me suggestively.

I hit him on the arm while laughing.

"you are not ditching me for some girl. I'm your lab partner and nobody else!" he exclaimed.

"Charles if you are going to make a scene out of this I'm going to ditch you on our table too." Drew told him.

He kept quiet and then glared at me.

"I don't know you but you better know your place here quickly. I'm watching you." He said to me then went to sit somewhere.

"What was that about?" I asked Drew

"That's Charles. Sometimes we call him Charlie. He is my friend and soon to be yours too." He explained

"what! Why?" I asked

"he is in my crew too. Don't worry, you two will get along soon." He said

"I don't see that happening. He sounds like the queen bee. Isn't that supposed to be the part of a girl?" I asked

He laughed. "he is like that. We are used to him and the queen bee is available. You will meet her soon enough." He said

"You sound like you are having fun with all of this." I pointed out.

He just chuckled. Soon enough the teacher came in and introduced me to the class. We learned about chemical reactions but as I was learning I felt eyes watching me. I looked around to see who was watching me then I locked eyes with Charlie who was glaring at me. He looked like a predator watching its prey. It sent chills down my back. What's with this town and sending chills in me? I ignored it and focused on the class. Soon enough class ended and we finished the remaining morning classes.

Lunchtime came and we went to the cafeteria. Entering the door we went to order our food. The line was pretty long considering most classes go to lunch at exactly twelve and only a few classes go to lunch at twelve-thirty. Drew told me that they did this to reduce the long lines. I'm glad we have our lunch exactly at twelve cause the hunger is killing me right now!

" can't this line go any faster?" I complained

Drew just laughed. " we can cut in if you want." he proposed.

" I have no problem with that." I replied grinning at him.

Having overheard our conversation, the other kids at our front turned around to glare at us.

" seems like others won't appreciate it." I whispered to his side.

he chuckled. Soon we got to the front and ordered our food. I ordered a tortilla wrap, some sauce to go with, and a soda. Drew ordered some chicken wings, French fries, and a soda. He directed me to a table on the right side of the room by the window to the back. I noticed there were too other guys sitting at the table. One had black hair, pale skin, and a built body. Sitting down he still looked to be tall and he seemed to be amused by the guy sitting in front of him. The other guy I recognized him. It was no other than Charlie himself who seemed to be spouting words quickly with so many hand gestures that looking at them you could easily get dizzy. How can I forget someone who glared at me during the whole class?
