Chapter 26 - Chapter 26: Magic Bracelet

I opened up the level up reward system and two blue text boxes appeared in front of me. Herbalist aside, the rewards of a Wizard Job should be impressive.

So I kept the best for last and mentally clicked yes on the Herbalist reward.

With a familiar click in my brain, I remembered memories long lost. I looked through the memories and it was a bit different than I imagined. I didn't get memories of demon drops or compounding, but about some herbs, mushrooms, plants, all the stuff that grows in nature. So now I can cultivate them and make pastes and salves out of them.

Well I never knew that you could make some good effective stuff from the things you find in the wild. Maybe it will come into use someday who knows.

Now onto the prize, I mentally click yes on the Wizard reward.

-Magic Bracelet>

Suddenly I had a bracelet in my hand. It was fully Black and had a Blue diamond shaped gem inlaid on it. The bracelet looked like it was made of some kind of metal and was 3-4 cm wide in width. It looked more like a collar than a bracelet.

[Magic Bracelet

I checked it carefully and could see five more empty diamond shaped slots on the bracelet. The whole thing looked like it was made as a whole with no gaps to open the bracelet.

I put my right hand through the bracelet and it magically shrinks to my wrists size. Now it looks more like a bracelet people can wear.

Knowing that it would be something more than just this, I concentrate on the bracelet and can feel that I can take something from it? With my left hand I touch the blue diamond shaped gem, feeling it around I press it and with a tick sound it comes out of the bracelet.

[Magic Gem (100%)]

I observe it in my hand and it looks just like a blue sapphire? The blue inside it almost seemed liquid as if it was flowing. Even Appraisal isn't helping much.

This blue liquid, inside is it Magic? So this gem holds magic in it and through this bracelet I can extract it. At least that's my theory. So it's like a Power bank but for my MP.

But do I have to charge the Power bank too? I show Roxanne the gem and even she thinks it's just a pretty stone.

I put the Magic gem back into the bracelet in the center. Maybe it's not from this world. I got the spatial backpack from the rewards before and nothing like it was ever mentioned in the og story. And Roxanne even said that she hasn't ever heard or seen about something like a spatial bag.

But maybe Roxanne just doesn't know about it, I can't just assume that it doesn't exist in this world. If Sherry was here maybe she would have a clue.

If it isn't from this world then what do I do about the empty slots? Where can I find more of these Magic gems? Perhaps I will get them as rewards from leveling up.

The bracelet does look heavy but it's pretty light and comfy, its definitely something which is exquisitely made. If my theory is correct than because my magic is full right now, I can't absorb any more from the Magic gem to see how it works.

Leaving the bracelet aside for now, I open the character reset and adjust my points.

Set Job: Thief Level 3, Hero Level 2, Explorer Level 3, Wizard Level 1, Warrior Level 1]

I can add more jobs as I have extra points freed up, so I add them until the skill becomes Fifth class.

In Job settings the first thing I did was add Wizard. After that as Villager was Level 5 already, I turned my focus towards other Jobs. I knew that I needed to level Thief and Warrior up for some new jobs so I removed Villager and added both of them. Thief was placed first as it is at a higher level then Warrior, both of them are easier to level up then the other jobs.

Now that I have acquired Wizard Job, let's leave swords aside for now. I don't wanna say the whole chant or yell the spell name, so let's go with Incantation omission. I will keep the Exp skills and make 400x progression again.

Lets just add all the remaining points to Intelligence which will increase magic damage.

"Roxanne, I will show you an important Power of mine next. And for this next demon I want you to stay back and leave it all to me", I said to Roxanne while keeping the Iron sword back into the backpack and taking the wooden wand out.

"Okay, Master" Roxanne nodded while looking weirdly at the wand in my hand.

I followed Roxanne and in less than two minutes I saw a single Needle Wood in the distance. Even if it's a bit dark in the labyrinth my Appraisal never fails.

"Stay with me here", Seeing that the needle wood hasn't noticed us I tell Roxanne while pointing my wand at the demon.

'Fireball'

Even after I equipped the Wizard Job, I couldn't feel any mana or magic inside me. The only time when I felt a foreign feeling was when I concentrated on the bracelet. It felt like I could take something from the bracelet, but my body felt 'full' then, so I couldn't even if I tried.

But as soon as I thought of the spell's name while directing my wand at the Needle Wood, I felt it. It was like water coming out of me, not exactly like peeing but it felt like some fluid flowed from somewhere in my body to the wand and then it formed a ball of fire.

The ball of fire became fist sized instantly and wooshed towards the demon. The demon who I think was facing away from us got hit by the ball in his back and his whole body got covered in fire.

So this is what Magic feels like, the power of elements at my fingertips. But seeing the needle wood standing there perfectly fine even after being covered in fire, I don't think I will drown in the allure of power anytime soon.

"E-eh! Master weren't you an Explorer how did you use that spell?" Roxanne looked at the demon covered in fire in shock.

"I will tell you later, first let's move back a bit so that the demon can't rush towards us" I replied while counting the seconds in my head.

As soon as we moved back a bit the fire was extinguished from the demon's body. Maybe the magic power ran out? I counted and it took only 5 seconds from the moment it caught fire for it to get extinguished.

The demon while covered in fire wasn't able to move well but now as it was aggroed on us, it started moving towards us swiftly.

'Firestorm'

This time I chanted a different spell, for this I didn't need to point with my wand. All the wand does is increase a bit of damage and help with directing the attack. The demon instantly got covered in fire and had to stop its walking. This spell took more of the Magic out of me than the previous one.

The Wizard Job gives access to 4 elements. Wind, Water, Earth and Fire, even after getting access to these elements, for its usage you will have to chant a spell. With my incantation omission Bonus spell I don't need to chant one, I just need to think about that spell.

The spell gives form to the element, there are 3 different forms. Single hit form 'ball' spell, Multiple hit form 'storm' spell and defense form 'wall' spell.

Wizard is a total battle class with every spell formed towards battle. Wizard even though looks so powerful is still a Basic Job with Grand Wizard as it's Intermediate Job. Even in the original story there were only three types of forms of every elements shown. Maybe there is some limitation in the spell itself.

I say that because like this Firestorm spell, it only targets nearby demons. It will ignore Humans in the vicinity even if I target them. So there is definitely some form of mechanism imbued in the spell itself.

The needle wood started rushing towards us again after the fire went out. This time I didn't tell Roxanne to move back. Instead I kept my wand in my pocket and took a step forward.

I have never used a skill from any of my Jobs yet, let's try it out.

'Overwhelming'

Suddenly everything slowed down, the demon who was rushing towards me started to move extremely slowly.

Knowing this wont last long I moved and was in front of the needle wood before it could even take a step forward.

'What's the use in getting in front of it, I won't be able to defeat it anyway. I should take this moment to run away'

Shaking the negative thought out of me, I opened the character reset window and moved all the 19 BP from Intelligence to Strength.

Then I punched at its hard bark with my right fist, even after feeling some pain because of the punch's full force I didn't stop and punched with my left fist again.

All this time the demon was just standing there letting me punch it without moving. Before I could punch a third time I felt the skills effect deactivate as the demon started moving normally again.

But instead of moving towards me, it fell down on the ground and with a puff of smoke left behind a Branch.

I knew that the skill Overwhelming being from the Hero Job would be overpowered but isn't this too broken. It's like a downgraded version of 'The World'.

Well I decided to make this demon my punching bag not because I was angry at him for not falling down after being hit by 2 of my spells. It was because I wanted to acquire a new job, 'Monk'.
