A week later, all of us again gathered for a meeting, I asked about the feedback from the civilians and soldiers, and all of them were happy. It was a big success!
Souta leaned back against the wall, a determined glint in his eyes as he spoke to his companions. "We need those Z coins. Right now, we've got 800 thousand of them thanks to our successful clearing missions in the towns and city. It's time to gear up and get ready for what's coming next."
Roger chimed in. "Wait, hold on a sec. How much is 800 thousand Z coins gonna get us, exactly?"
Souta grinned. "Well, Ten Z coins for one bread, a rifle costs a thousand, a box of ammo is 500, and a regular car is 5,000 Z coins. Guns, ammo, and vehicles, We're not letting the zombies catch us off guard. A tank's gonna cost us 50,000 Z coins, and helicopters are 30,000 Z coins each."
Steff spoke up. "Sounds like a solid plan, but we need to be careful. Relying too much on these Z coins could backfire if they suddenly vanish. We should also be thinking about other ways to survive."
Souta nodded, acknowledging her concern. "You're right, Steff. That's why while the zombies are still weakened from the cold, I want the military to start thinning their ranks. We'll earn Z coins and keep ourselves safe at the same time. But remember, looting cities for food and raiding military bases will be crucial, too."
All of them agree, and within just a day, our whole military changed significantly, all of the soldiers hold guns with silencers, the walls are heavily guarded, artillery, tanks, helicopters it was a right decision to make the military base wide.
Buying thousands of rifle and heavy-duty guns and millions of ammo, dozens of tanks, helicopters, artillery, and others that will be used for fighting zombies and humans
With that in just a week, they have cleared the entire region, making it my land. Many survivors also joined us, and our populations grow, and so is our military.
I also then placed the warehouse that produced ammo and guns using the system. The warehouse was taken from the military bases they raided.
With this, we are now self-sufficient for our weapons, ammo, food, and water. It feels like we're unstoppable the winter ends and the zombies return to their usual strength.
A week after the winter ends, a messenger appeared, he is riding a horse and said, "I am the messenger of the mighty Zack! My master wants to talk to your leader! Here is a walkie-talkie to contact my master" When the soldier take the walkie-talkie the messenger left.
"That's what happened," Roger said as he was inside Souta's new office, "So this is the walkie-talkie, let me contact this Zack," Souta said and turned on the walkie-talkie.
Souta picked up the walkie-talkie and heard a voice on the other end. "Hello, you must be Zack, I assume?" he asked.
"Yeah, that's correct," Zack replied. "I have no intentions of becoming your enemy. In fact, I wanted to thank you."
Souta was intrigued. "Thank me? For what?"
"We're the neighboring base known for using armored knights units to deal with zombies," Zack explained.
"I see... so he's one of your people was inside the city we cleared," Souta said, starting to connect the dots.
Zack hesitated for a moment. "He was my brother, someone I deeply admire. We're sorry for the trouble he caused, but I want to express my gratitude for saving him from suffering. "
Souta understood the sentiment. "You're welcome, although that wasn't our original plan."
"Clearing that city, you must be a 'land lord' now, right?" Zack asked
Roger and I look at each other,
Zack continued, "Since the winter, many large groups have been clearing cities. We were one of them, but we lost my brother in the process. Afterward, we decided to take another city. But here's the thing, after clearing the city, I've been bedridden for a week. Reports say that everyone who successfully clears a city gets stronger, and their base grows rapidly."
Souta glanced at Roger and nodded,"Why are you telling me all this?"
Zack's voice took on a serious tone. "I want to propose an alliance between our bases. The world has become a dangerous place with ambitious people waging wars against each other. Zombies are no longer the biggest threat; it's other humans."
Souta considered his words carefully. "And how do I know I can trust you?"
Zack's response caught him off guard. "Because Shana is my sister."
"Your sister?" I asked
"Yes, she left our house and start her own life without us her family, when we got to the town where she lives it was already occupied by another group, we investigate if she's still alive then we saw you, beside her, I never saw my sister smiled like that before... that's why I leave her be"
"I will visit you tomorrow, so please tell your soldiers to stand down," and with that, he ends the walkie-talkie.
"That was unexpected. Do you believe what he said?" Roger asked
"Stay high guard tomorrow, we don't have any choice but to let them in and immediately surround them when they arrived,"
"Got it, may things go smoothly," Roger said
After discussing the alliance proposal with the others, Souta picked up the walkie-talkie to inform Shana about the situation.
"Jana's brother!? Is it true!?" Amy exclaimed, her eyes wide with excitement.
Shana nodded quietly, "Yes..." confirming the connection. She knew the revelation could change things significantly.
"That will make things easier. If he's your brother, then you know him better than we do. Come back tomorrow," Souta commanded, trusting Shana's judgment.
"Yes," Shana replied, feeling a mix of emotions at the thought of meeting her brother again.
"Jenny, make preparations in the town. Let's not be hostile towards this person," Souta instructed, knowing the importance of a diplomatic approach.
"Of course," Jenny acknowledged, ready to handle the logistics.
"Rex, Roger, you both know what to do, right?" Souta asked, seeking their commitment.
"That's given," Roger replied confidently.
"Yes, sir!" Rex responded, his dedication evident.
"That's it for today," Souta said, concluding the meeting.
"I'll prepare the guest room," Steff offered.
"Please do that," Souta said with gratitude.
Amy, however, wasn't about to miss out on the action. "Ah! No fair! I want to help too!" she protested, clinging to Souta.
Souta smiled, patting her head affectionately. "Just be a good girl, okay?" he said, trying to soothe her disappointment.
"Hehe," Amy giggled, finding comfort in Souta's touch.
Steff, noticing Amy's reaction, couldn't resist a playful tease. "Hmp!" she pouted and left to fulfill her task.
The group dispersed, each member carrying out their designated duties while looking forward to what the alliance with Zack's base could bring. The air was filled with a mixture of anticipation and tension, knowing that their actions could shape the fate of their communities in the apocalypse.
