Chapter 12
They made their way down to the first floor of the house they had looted, carrying the supplies they had gathered from the nearby village. Souta had managed to find some food, and he decided to let the twins and Shana guard the captives while they ate.
"Let's let them finish their meal while we continue looting," Souta commanded to the group.
After time passes as they scavenge for supplies to the village, they came across a bow and several pistols, which they added to their growing collection. They also managed to steal a few cars to add to their convoy. Once the captives had finished eating, they regrouped and prepared to head back to the farm.
The journey back to the farm was uneventful, and they arrived safely as night began to fall. Souta instructed Roger to inform the captives about their situation and the offer he had made them. They then settled back into the mansion for the night.
The next morning, they returned to the farm to retrieve the kids and the girls they had rescued. Souta distributed some of the weapons they had found, including pistols, air guns, bows, and daggers. They also discovered that two of the girls had some medical knowledge, so they decided to have them teach the others basic first aid.
With the presence of two former soldiers who had military knowledge, they incorporated combat training into their daily routine. The training was intense, and some of the recruits even cried, but as the weeks went by, they began to adapt and improve.
After a month of rigorous training, the group had grown accustomed to the challenges they faced. They recognized Souta as their leader and followed his orders without hesitation. The martial arts training became a focus for them, as they honed their skills under Souta's guidance.
One day, during their training session, Roger suggested an idea to Souta. "I want them to experience killing zombies. How about we clear out the school? You haven't looted that place yet, right?"
Souta considered the suggestion and replied, "Alright, tell them to prepare. We'll go tomorrow."
The next morning, they gathered their supplies and loaded up the military truck and cars. They made their way towards the school, arriving without any major issues. Stepping out of the vehicles, Souta took a moment to observe the school building.
"So, this is the school, huh?" Souta remarked.
Amy, looking around, asked, "Ours was much bigger, right?"
Souta chuckled and replied, "Well, this is the school for the two villages. You can't expect it to be as large."
"Alright, you guys help them if necessary, okay?" Souta instructed the girls.
They nodded in agreement, ready to support the newcomers. Souta gathered everyone and had them line up, preparing for the imminent zombie attack.
"Alright, remember, to kill them, you need to slice or stab the brain. That's the only way to kill them. With that being said, let's begin," Souta explained, raising his pistol and firing a shot into the air.
The noise attracted a swarm of zombies, which began to approach them. The recruits started to feel the pressure as the zombies closed in. Souta noticed their hesitation and sighed.
Walking toward the approaching zombies, he effortlessly dispatched them, showcasing his skills with ease. The recruits watched in awe as Souta moved with precision, almost like he wasn't human.
"Is he even human?" one of the recruits whispered.
"Are you just going to stand there and watch? Don't let him steal all the spotlight!" Roger shouted, urging them into action.
Motivated by Roger's words, they screamed and ran
towards the zombies, joining the battle. Rex and Roger also joined in, fighting alongside the recruits. With the girls' support, they managed to fend off the zombies, preventing anyone from getting bitten.
After hours of intense fighting, they finally cleared out the school. They took a well-deserved break and prepared for lunch. While eating, students that survived from the school cautiously approached them.
"Who is your leader?" A student asked.
Souta, not taking the question seriously, replied, "Me, why?"
The student looked around, finding no objections from the others, and said, "We're being serious right now."
Souta raised an eyebrow and asked, "So am I."
The student hesitated for a moment before continuing, "We want to join you."
Souta chuckled, "Are you sure?"
"Yes," the student replied with determination.
"Alright, but you need to follow everything we say. In exchange, we will provide you with a safe shelter, food, and weapons," Souta stated.
The student agreed, and Souta instructed them to have lunch before discussing further plans. They sat down together, and Souta noticed that the group of students was thin and consisted of about twenty individuals.
"Our population is increasing, and the farm is getting too small," Souta muttered to himself.
"I think we can make this school our base," Roger suggested.
"That's a good idea. The school already has a wall, so it will be easy to defend," Rex added.
Souta nodded in agreement. "Alright, it's decided. We'll move here next week and bring the animals to the farm as well."
He continued, "I also plan to have some of the girls with medical knowledge stay here in case of any accidents."
They all agreed to the plan, and after finishing lunch, they made their way back to the mountain. The night had already fallen when they returned to the farm.
Souta, Amy, Steff, Shana and the twin go to the nearby village they guess that there might be some survivors and the supplies will help them as their population is growing.
The following morning, they gathered their group and set out to loot the nearby villages. Amy took charge of driving the military truck as they visited the three villages in the vicinity with more man power in their hands things proceeded smoothly.
In the first village, they found daggers, pistols, and a few survivors. They finished looting by lunchtime and enjoyed a meal before heading to the next village. The process became more manageable for them as they grew accustomed to searching houses for supplies.
The second village yielded a small number of pistols and air guns, along with a small group of survivors. It was almost dusk when they returned to the farm, bringing the villagers with them for shelter.
The next morning, they set off for the last village. This village was known for its animal husbandry, and they managed to find animal food and even some surviving ducks, chickens, and pigs. They loaded everything onto the vehicles and returned to the farm, completing their looting expedition.
After explaining their plans to the survivors, they resumed their training.
While Souta's group is busy for their growing population,
Meanwhile the former students from his school, held a meeting in the principal's office. The class president, Jana, along with the assistant chief of the soldiers, Kisse, and the chief of the soldiers, Garp, discussed their current situation.
"Looks like Souta and his group managed to loot the nearby villages," Jana informed the others.
Kisse responded dismissively, "Huh! What can you get from a village anyway?"
Garp chuckled and interjected, "The villages here are full of hunters. There might be air guns and other weapons used for hunting."
Kisse, annoyed, retorted, "Why do you always defend him? Are you in love with him?"
Garp laughed, teasingly saying, "Oho? Are you sure that I was the one in love with him? Hmm??"
"What are you talking about, old man? I don't love him! I just hate how cruel he is and how he treats us."
Jana intervened, "Let's stop talking about him. We have already cleared the town, and many survivors have joined us. Thanks to your training, they can now handle zombies without any problems. Our main concerns now are food and ammo. We are running out of supplies."
Garp suggested a plan, "My idea is to loot the next town next to us. Any suggestions or questions?"
Kisse, curious, asked, "Why the nearby town? Isn't the town there also small like here? Why not loot the shopping district?"
Garp replied firmly, "Stupid! The shopping district is full of zombies! If we loot that place, there's a high chance we'll be overwhelmed."
Jana agreed, saying, "He's right. Looting the next town is the best option since the nearby villages have already been cleared."
They all agreed to the plan and prepared to move to the next town, eager to secure more resources for their survival.
