Chapter 11 - Ch 10 – First City, Trexta

Ch 10 – First City, Trexta

After she gave me a jug of water, which she took out from some kind of her inventory, I finished all of it in a minute. Then I hopped on to Ryder and we continued our journey.

We were moving through the forest. There were still some trees that were still standing. The foliage was mostly dead. Only a few trees were left. And in the distance, I could see the blue sky.

We passed by several rivers and streams. I could smell the scent of fresh water. I could feel the freshness of the breeze blowing through the forest. The sun was shining brightly, causing the trees to glow in brightness.

Around half an hour later, we reached the empty road. It was still quite far from the city, but at least there were some buildings that I could see on our way there. But we didn't stop. We kept going.

Before we knew it, we arrived at the city. When I saw it, I was shocked. I never imagined the city would grow so much.

The city was surrounded by high walls with barbed wire on top. It looked like it was built in a very specific shape. Not only the wall but the street as well. There was no trash or debris anywhere in sight. Everything seemed clean.

─ City Name: Trexta

─ Location: The border of the republic of Elvin.

─ Population: 10 million (estimated).

─ Occupation: City government, military base, merchant city, manufacturing city, agriculture.

─ Map overview:

─ West: The forest.

─ North: The highway leading to the capital.

─ East: The wasteland.

─ South: The harbor city.

According to Shea, she chose this city since its location wasn't in Cybernetic's territory anymore. So we should be safe here as long as we can pass the border check.

While queueing at the checkpoint, I saw several armed guards on top of their tower, watching over the entire city. A white helmet covered their head and an Electron Phaser was in their hand. They were wearing black armor. Their helmets were equipped with a camera and microphone. Other than that, they also had a scanner, which they used to scan incoming vehicles.

"Halt!" said a soldier once we arrived at the front. Then he checked and quickly scanned us. "Why are you coming to Trexta?" he asked.

"We are going to the capital," Shea replied.

"With that many weapons?" he questioned. He referred to Ryder and her drones.

"Yes," she answered.

"We aren't allowed to bring weapons inside the city," he informed her.

"I have a special license for it," Shea retorted. " Just check it in the data. Dominion License number 00373509."

He frowned before he talked on the microphone and asked his friend to check it.

"Do you have any other weapons in your possession?" he inquired.

"No," she answered.

His frown deepened. He then grabbed the scanner and scanned over the device on her wrist. It was a multifunction device that could store a lot of things like my inventory and worked as a smartphone, 3D projector, and more. But while my system and inventory were based on complicated magic which took the form of a system as a result of my original world's knowledge, her device was based on pure advanced technology.

A second later, the screen beside us showed the result.

─ Name: Weapons:

─ Sword: laser sword – Ryek

─ Laser Rifle: Buzzkiller

─ Laser Gun: R-7

─ Energy Shield: Z-1

─ Missile Launcher: H-5

─ Light Cannon: N-2

─ Anti-Personnel Rocket Launchers: S-3

─ No explosives.

My eyes widened and my jaw dropped in shock. Now, I understood why she could break through the cyborgs base by herself.

'Did she carry the entire weapon storage in her inventory?'

"How many weapons do you have?" I whispered.

"Sttt!" hissed Shea.

"Mind explaining this?" said the guard in a displeased tone.

"Grand Dominion License number 09. Shea of Moonstar," she answered in a low voice.

Again, the guard checked it. But then his face turned pale once he knew who Shea was. His eyes widened in astonishment.

"You may pass, Your Highness." He bowed respectfully before letting us pass. "Please forgive us for being rude."

"It's okay," she smiled warmly. "Thank you."

I followed her, but the guard stopped me.

"This is Axl of the LAF. He is my bodyguard. I hereby request permission for him to enter the Republic of Elvin," Shea said before I could say a word.

The soldier nodded. "Very well."

As we entered the city, I swept my gaze around.

There were many tall buildings, most of which were multi-story. The roads were paved with white concrete. Some of the buildings were even taller than the ones surrounding them. The streets were filled with different species. Either they were demi-human, human, elf, or even aliens and cyborgs.

Some of the buildings had glass windows. Others were covered with metal sheets. The color of the paint and the roof tiles varied. But the overall design was consistent.

Aside from the buildings, there were also skyscrapers. These were the tallest among the others. Three towers stood on each side of it, giving the impression that the dome was protecting the building from the outside elements.

Other than those, there were other buildings. Some were smaller. Most of them were residential while a few of them were shops.

" So where should we go first?" I asked her. Although there were so many questions in my head, I couldn't hold my curiosity either. I wanted to explore every inch of the city. I was sure it was just as exciting as when I visited the capital.

"Well, first we should go to the hotel," she suggested. "There should be one near the gate."

"What about lunch?" I asked. I hadn't eaten anything since I woke up. My stomach was as empty as a pauper's purse.

"Oh! Right," she said. "Let's eat something first. We'll think of something else after we've rested."
