Ch 12 – The Sunny Android
A large plate was placed over the table. It had a square shape. At the center of the plate was a round object. It was composed of a thick layer of brown and white globs. All of them had sharp edges and looked like blobs of meat. However, there was no evidence of the flesh inside. It was covered in a clear liquid.
Then there was a mound of white rice on the plate. Next to it was a bowl of clear transparent soup. It was filled with chunks of rainbow vegetables and grains. And finally, there was a container full of sour cream.
When I saw it, I immediately felt nauseous. But then I remembered that I was hungry. I needed to eat something before I faint.
"Here," Shea said as she passed me the plate.
"Uh, why does the food look weird?" I asked in a low voice.
She frowned in reply.
"It looks normal to me."
'Normal?' That means the food indeed usually looked like that. I glanced to the side. 'Maybe it's because of the aliens.' They brought a new culture to Terra so the chef brought ingredients from different cultures and merged recipes.
'Well, whatever. Food is food.' I started shoveling the brown and white globs into my mouth without a single blink. But then my eyes widened when I tasted it.
"What is this?" I asked.
"That's your 'Jelly Fish' dish," she replied.
"Is it supposed to taste like this?" I asked. I took another bite. This time, I chewed the glop. It was surprisingly good. It had a sweet flavor and soft texture. It wasn't too salty or bland. It was very tasty despite the weird appearance.
"Yes. It's supposed to taste like this." She nodded in agreement as she ate her own dish.
"It tastes so good," I mumbled, shoveling the next food into my mouth.
"You like it?"
"Yup. It's delicious."
"Glad to hear that."
After that, we didn't speak much since I was too excited about the food. All of them tasted good despite their shape. But before the last bite, I used my skill to the food.

I also used my skill with other foods. I always did it every time I found something interesting. Who knew if I needed it later?
"Anyway, why they can prepare it so fast?" I asked. The dish preparation time was 30 minutes but they brought it to us in a couple of seconds.
"Probably because they already made the food beforehand in the kitchen and brought it here," said Shea. "And probably because they have many robotic arms."
"So all of them are premade food." I wondered if I could store them in my inventory. Since they were just cooked food, I assumed they would be okay.
"Yeah. Most restaurants use that way. It's more efficient," stated Shea. "Anyway, we should move now." She stood up. "We need to buy some components for Ryder and my drones," she reminded me.
I also stood up.
"What about the bills?"
"I already paid for it. We used a virtual currency called Creds. It's a universal currency prevailing in this galaxy," she gave a short explanation.
"I see." With that, I already assumed that I could use Creds wherever I went.
'I wonder if I could get some money,' I thought. There might be a chance at some point when I have to part with Shea. And I needed to figure out how to make money before that since no one supported me like in the past. Yeah, the kingdom mostly supported me with their money to make sure I could defeat the dark lord.
Once we left the restaurant, we hopped on Ryder and moved through the street. As we rolled along the street, I watched the people pass by. Some of them wore clothes similar to mine while others were dressed in strange outfits. In the distance, I saw huge skyscrapers. I noticed they were made of shiny metal. The buildings were connected by various bridges that crossed over the streets.
The roads were smooth and clean. Everything was well maintained. As I rode, I tried to memorize some important buildings and stores. Like hospitals, workshops, police stations, banks, and government offices. It was better to know than to be surprised when I got lost or stranded here.
After a couple of minutes, I spotted a building with a signboard that read "The Sunny Android".
"Here is our stop," said Shea.
Ryder smoothly stopped and we disembarked. The robot arms that came from the metal floor of the parking lot grabbed Ryder and started to scan it.
We entered the shop through an open door. Inside, there were various electronic parts laid on shelves, tables, and benches. There were also robots working on various machines. Their movements were mechanical, precise, and smooth.
"Welcome to our shop," said a woman who walked toward us. Her face was hidden behind a mask, but I could tell that she was beautiful from the way she carried herself. She wore black leather tight armor like Shea and her green hair flowed down her back. "Can I help you?"
"Yes. We need to repair battle drones," answered Shea.
"Right. Follow me please." She turned and led us to a corner of the shop. "Over here. We have a few components in stock." She pointed at a small glass case. "They are ready to be delivered."
"How much is it?" asked Shea.
"For the main components is 15,000 creds. For the additional parts is 6,500 creds," she replied. "And for weaponry components is 20,000 creds."
I leaned towards Shea. "Are those cheap?" I whispered.
"No, they are expensive," Shea corrected me. "But I think the price is fair enough."
