A gruff voice popped out his lips," ID and reason, please."
The boy pulled out a passport and stated," Hillpeaks orientation."
"Oliver?" The security guard questioned.
Oliver nodded and walked past the security guard as he got his items back. He silently joined the students who were already present; climbing a long mossy, dark stone stairway for at least another mile.
After the long journey, Oliver arrived at his destination. This run downed mansion looked to be repurposed into being an academy. It had stone walls made out of some sort of dark colored stone which radiates a desolate oppressive feeling. There were cracks and jagged cuts all a long the walls and floor.
There were still people tumbling in and gathering in the courtyard.
The courtyard was wide and expansive; in the middle stood a platform with a podium on it.
Now that the courtyard seemed full, a black figure walked onto the stage. The man had a dress suite and a black cloak. The feeling of being otherworldly etched into his bones, suaveness radiates out his eyes. This man cleared his throat into the mic to grab the student body attention.
"Welcome to Hillpeaks, I am the director Silvestor Smith. You all are the new bunch after 50 years; having taken several exams under fair circumstances, this academy will be with you till' death pulls you apart."
"I know each and everyone of you will achieve success in one way or another. I won't take your time away with a long speech; dinner will be at seven pm. Then right after that you guys can settle into your rooms, Thank you." He said as he walked off the stage with cheers and applause following him.
Silvestor stayed back to answer questions, but Oliver didn't care and quickly walked away to the garden. (Where most of the students walked through the two giant doors leading to the dinner hall.)
The garden was rather tame with noise. The pathway throughout the garden was rather claustrophobic, since the bushes of the flowers would overflow onto the pathway. And because the place/event was so important- no one dared to step on them. Oliver was lost in the mute colors of the flowers but still walked in a certain direction of this maze like garden. Crushing any little flowers that was in his way.
On the boarders around this garden made up of taller plants and trees. Oliver approached a very hidden weeping willow; he walked around it a couple of times observing it. Oliver finally stopped on one side and plopped on his knees; with his bare hands he started digging up dirt between some roots. Since the dirt was a little compact, it was harder to dig up, but he managed to dig six inches in and moved to wipe his sweat off with the non dirty part of his arm. Oliver grunted in frustration when he realized he had to dig a little further.
Just an inch further and he finally was able to see a tin lid. The bright red from back then is now a mute sad red with most of the paint chipped off from the lid; 'how befitting' thought Oliver huffing. Oliver loosened the dirt around it and pulled out the full tin box. Dusting off the excess dirt, Oliver placed the tin box in a plastic bag and stored it in his satchel for safe keeping. Oliver made sure no one saw/ was around and filled in the hole. At the end, Oliver made it appear like no one was there to begin with.
Oliver came in to the garden with clean hands and came out with dirty hands. No one payed him attention as his existance was not really loud to begin with, and plus the sun was setting as it was getting close to seven.
Oliver went into the nearest bathroom and washed his hands while over hearing other students.
" You think we will see the top percent?" A dude said while using the urinals.
The neighbor urinal dude bumped shoulders and made the first dude splash a little," Hahaha, So we can see the princesses of the campus?"
The first dude composed himself in annoyance and shook his junk clean," Watch it!-- Not just that, but its a great opportunity to make connections!" He said as he zipped and went to the sinks but bumped into Oliver.
The dude said sorry and Oliver nodded. With new found knowledge; Oliver shook his hands dry and walked out.
Oliver walked into the cafeteria where mostly everyone was at. He took a random seat, and stood quiet. Oliver was good at being quiet. So, sitting down in the dinning room waiting for the director was easy. ( Which also inconvenienced Oliver since he was starving.)
The dinning room was built with three long tables in the middle and two smaller tables in front of the long tables. And in front of those were podiums where the director and the head teachers ate.
