Chapter 3 - Chapter 3

Finley spotted Rowan's car from across the street.

She smiled and walked majestically toward the car.

The car looked luxurious as it glows under the morning sun.

Rowan came out of his car and walked to the other side of the car, he opened the door to the front seat like a gentle man and waited for Finley to come in.

"Hi".

Finley greeted shyly.

"How are you, Finley, you look very beautiful?". He said with a smile.

Finley blushed, his voice and the way he spoke were so smooth and attractive.

"I am good".

Entering the driver's seat, he rode away.

'The Pacific', were the words written in bold letters in front of a five-star restaurant in the city.

The restaurant deals mainly in seafood and Finley remembers telling, Rowan, that seafood was her favorite in a chat.

He didn't forget.

After getting a good parking spot, Finley and Rowan walked majestically into the restaurant and was escorted by a butler into the VIP section like a power couple.

While Finley ordered alot of expensive seafoods like seasoned snow crab, the king crab, some abalones, Rowan just ordered for red wine.

"You don't like seafood?". Finley asked.

"Yeah".

"So, what do you like?".

"Meat and Vegetables".

"Hmm, that's cool, why don't you order for some?".

He smirked and said.

"They don't serve my type of meat here".

"Hmm, that's odd...". Finley commented.

"Why do you think so?".

"This is a five-star restaurant, there's no way you can't place an order for your type of meat no matter how you want it to be cooked".

A waiter walked towards them with a tray, that contained wine glasses and a bottle of wine.

He served them wine and left.

"I cook for myself". Rowan said taking up the wine glass.

"Alright".

The next few seconds were awkward as Rowan stared at Finley, who was playing with her nails shyly.

She didn't take up her wine as she waited for her seafood.

This was her first ever date and she doesn't know how to start a conversation, and he is mostly the quiet type of guy, who speaks a few sentences.

"Where I picked you from, is that where you live?". Rowan asked suddenly breaking the silence.

"Yeah, I live there with my friend". Finley answered.

"You have a lot of friends?".

"Nope, just a few, let's say four, but the one I live with is the closest to me, she is very protective, she wanted her cousin to come with me...". Finley said giggling a little.

Rowan had a flat face and nodded a little.

'Shit! I wasn't supposed to say that right? Oh my goodness, I should have taken lessons from Shane before coming, I hope he doesn't dislike me'. Finley's mind was in a rumble.

"So are they here with you?". He asked with a curious face.

"Oh no! I told her that wouldn't be needed".

As Finley answered she noticed him relax a bit, although she didn't think much of it, maybe because she taught that it happened to her instead of him, why would he relax? He wasn't tensed, she was.

The waiter arrived with Finley's food.

The aroma of the delicious looking seafood made Finley excited, although she tried to hide and act neutral.

After the food was served, Finley began to dig in, everything on the table was prepared by one of the most popular chefs in the city who even runs a television show about seafood cooking, and he cooks for this restaurant, it has been one of Finley's dream to have a taste of the seafoods he cooks on the television show and Rowan has made it a reality.

Finley tried to steal a stare at him but was not successful with that as he was already staring holes into her.

Finley's face became hot, 'how was she eating? Was she classic enough with her eating?'. She thought to herself.

She prayed in her mind that he would not call of thier just starting relationship, she didn't want for him to dislike her.

And Rowan's statement next made her happy.

"I like the way you eat".

Finley couldn't help but smile from ear to ear.

"What's your profession ?".

"I am a surgeon, what about you?". He asked back.

"Well, I am a pomologist and I write books".

Rowan nodded.

"I want to go on vacation, do you want to come with me?". He asked softly.

'Maybe he is still interested in me after all'. Finley thought happily.

"Uhh, I don't know, when will that be?". Finley asked.

"Next week".

"Hmm, I will think about it and let you know".

Finley replied.

"That's fine".

Rowan dropped Finley home after the date, and as expected Shane wasn't at the apartment when Finley returned.

She was happy, he looked more handsome in real life than on pictures.

She was fighting the urge to call him and tried busying herself with writing.

'Gggrrrriiinnnnggg Gggrrrriiinnnnggg'

Finley's phone vibrates on the table, she looked at the caller ID and it was Rowan.

She cleared her throat, practicing how she will sound when she answers the call.

"Hello".

Rowan's voice sounded on the phone.

"Hi"

"Yeah, I just wanted to confirm that you are safe and sound at home".

"Oh, you don't have to worry about that, I am perfectly fine".

"What are you doing?".

"I am writing".

"Is your friend not around with you?".

"Nope, she went out, but she will be back tomorrow".

"Alright, then have a good day".

"You too".

When he hung up, Finley called Shane immediately.

"Are you back? Finley".

Shane spoke immediately she picked Finley's call.

"Yes I am, it was nice, I just talked to him on the phone now, he called you know, to ask if I am home safe...".

"Did he drop you off?". Shane asked.

"Yeah, he did".

"So why did he call you agian? And did he ask if you were alone?". Shane asked suspiciously.

"Yeah, because he wanted to be sure that the lady he took on a date today is safe, you wouldn't understand".

"Alright, I will return tomorrow morning be safe, my dear". Shane said

"I will..., Oh wait! I remember now, I am going on a vacation next week with him, I just called to tell you that".

"What the hell, Finley!". Shane exclaimed over the phone.
