Shane couldn't believe her ears, what is this girl saying?!.
"What did you tell him?!".
"That I will think about..., Well I have thought long about it and I think I want to go with him". Finley replied smiling.
"You have thought long about it?!". Shane repeated Finley's words with a sarcastic tone making fun of Finley.
"He just told you today and you have already thought long about it?! For how many minutes? Finley, do you even know where he is taking you to?".
Finley rolled her eyes and answered.
"He didn't tell me about that but I know it will be somewhere nice, he seems rich".
"Ooh my goodness..., Finley, please take things slowly this is your first time, okay? Don't blindly trust people like that".
"Bla, bla, bla, I know what I am doing! Just let me enjoy life a little bit, I have been reading and studying all my life at least let me have someone else to be intimate with...".
"I don't know, Fin, this is too fast I would say but enjoy yourself, I know you think that I am jealous of..., Uhh I have to go, Fin".
"Alright, take care".
Finley said happily, she was starting to get tired of Shane, ever since the day she first told her about Rowan, she just changed into an annoying overprotective mother, not being supportive in the slightest.
"Yeah, bye".
Shane hung up.
Finley dropped her phone back on the table and heaved a sigh. Shane was right, Finley thinks she is jealous of her and that's why she is being too cautious of what she is doing with Rowan.
Although not in a way that she wants Rowan for herself but that she just wants her to remain the innocent girl who studies, writes, and makes money for her, who hasn't been intimate with anyone or has explored that part of life, to remain just that type of girl so that she can date her cousin, Wyatt.
'Ha! I know what you want to do, Shane, I know'. Finley muttered to herself.
Days passed and it was the next week, on the day Finley was to go out with Rowan on a vacation.
Finley ignored all of Shane's warnings as she told Rowan of her decision to go out with him the day after the first date just so that Rowan can make preparations for himself and her.
Finley parked a few things with her in her traveling bag and waited for Rowan to come to pick her up.
Shane even though she was being grumpy about the whole thing, she still did Finley's makeup and hair with a frown on her face.
"How do I look?".
Finley asked turning around a little.
"You look good". Shane answered with a flat face.
Finley wrapped her hands on Shane's shoulders.
"I will not forget to get you something nice, I promise and it's just for a few days".
Shane took her hands off.
"You can do what you want, I just want you to always update me on any news all the way, okay? And don't forget to call me". She said and lay on the bed with a drop.
"Are you not going to escort me?".
"Ugh, okay, let me put on clothes, I need to see that guy before you leave with him".
"Yeah, that's true".
Finley nodded.
Shane carried Finley's luggage out of their apartment, Finley walked behind her with her handbag.
They walked to Rowan's parked car.
Rowan drove a different car from the one he came with on the day of their first date, this one however is bigger and seems to be more expensive than the other as it resembles one of those exotic cars you see on the television.
It made passersby stare.
Rowan came out of the driver's seat, he was dressed casually with a black cap on his head, and his hair was messy but that didn't hide his handsomeness as it made him look younger.
The boot of his car opened up by itself as Rowan pressed a button.
"Hello, are you Shane? Finley's close friend".
He asked as he took the luggage from Shane and put it inside the boot.
Seeing the guy that her friend has been talking about these past few weeks up close, Shane couldn't blame her that much, he had a very handsome face, he also has a very smooth voice and he looked very masculine. Shane also noticed that he has an air of mystery around him like you can't know how to vibe with such a person especially if you are just meeting them for the first time.
Although he was polite, he didn't look approachable at all, his hunter-gray eyes would make someone tense if he stared at them for more than a second.
Shane wondered how Finley was able to hook up with this guy.
He was definitely not an average guy.
"Well, yes and you are?".
Shane asked back trying to 'intimidate' him as she asked with a serious tone.
He looked at her up and down for some seconds as if he was studying her.
"You don't know me? She didn't tell you about me?". He asked back with no intention of trying to impress his girlfriend's close friend.
"She did, but I will like to hear from you".
Shane answered nonchalantly staring at him back in the eye.
"I am Rowan Palmer, I am a surgeon and I eat people". He said with a straight face, there was no sign of sarcasm on his face.
"Hahaha hahha". Finley laughed loudly as she heard what Rowan said when she got closer to them.
Shane looked at him with alertness and didn't know when her tongue slipped and she said.
"You are weird".
Shane held her lips immediately with her hands, as she didn't mean for that to come out.
Finley stopped laughing and turned to Shane a little annoyed.
"Shane! That's not a nice thing to say, he was just joking".
"That's not a funny joke, Finley, and that's not how normall people joke". Shane retorted.
"I am sorry if that offended you, I was just joking". Rowan apologized.
"Well, that was a bad joke". Shane replied.
"I am so sorry for that, Shane can't get past the feeling that I won't be home with her for the next five days..., hahaha". Finley spoke laughing to ease the tension.
"I don't have a problem with that". Rowan replied.
He turned to Shane and said.
"Don't worry, your friend is in good hands".
"Give me your number, I want to communicate with you everyday, in case she switches off her phone to avoid my disturbance". Shane said eyeing Finley.
"Ooh I won't do that, trust me, I will be calling and updating you on how it's going, I am not switching my phone off for anything".
