After arriving at the venue where the birthday party is taking place, Shane met Conrad and her cousin, Wyatt, at the entrance of the hall.
Conrad looked like an average youth but what made him stand out more was his body physique. He looked like he has been at the gym for months as he looked jacked.
He had messy brown hair and honey-brown eyes.
He dressed rather casually for a birthday party and one could tell that he was not the partying type of person. His nerdiness was still a part of him just that he stopped wearing glasses after high school and entered the gym which changed a lot about his nerdy appearance and made him look more attractive to Shane.
Wyatt on the other hand was the complete opposite although he wasn't fat, he didn't look lean or jacked. He was tall and had an average build. He didn't look nerdy in any way but rather attractive. He is the type you would refer to as a playboy as he is always surrounded by girls and always joked around.
Shane hated that.
Wyatt put his hands over Shane's shoulder and kissed her chick playfully.
Unlike Conrad who hated public display of affection, Wyatt didn't care at all.
People watching would think he is a passerby while Wyatt is the boyfriend to Shane.
"Looking good". Wyatt commented.
"I didn't bring anything with me". Shane said as she tried removing Wyatt's hand from her shoulders.
"What?! So you meant what you said". Wyatt asked surprised.
"Can you give me space? Go talk to your girls". Shane said getting angry.
"Fine but don't call me for anything". Wyatt said unhappily.
"Like I will?!". Shane said rolling her eyes.
Wyatt tapped Conrad on the shoulders, Conrad nodded a little, understanding what that meant as Wyatt left them.
Shane sat at the bar counter while Conrad stood and ordered drinks.
The loud sound of music blasted everywhere.
The loud cheering of people dancing and partying filled the place.
This wasn't the place for Conrad but he has to be here because of his friend.
The bartender served their drinks, Conrad noticed his girlfriend's unusual facial expression and asked as he took a sip from his drink.
"What's with that face ? I thought you liked parties?".
"It's not about the party, my mind is in a haze right now, I don't even know what to think". Shane said as she stared directly at her drink, as twirled it.
"Still about your friend?". Conrad guessed.
"Yeah".
"She hasn't called or sent any text since then?".
"No that's not it, There was a text today sent from her phone and it's very suspicious".
Shane said taking a sip from her drink.
"What do you mean?". Conrad asked confused.
"Look, ever since that day she left with that weird, good-looking guy, she has...".
"I told you to stop calling him that". Conrad interrupted with a firm voice.
Shane smiled.
Shane enjoyed doing this on purpose, seeing Conrad get jealous or angry made her feel some type of way.
"I am sorry, I don't remember his name".
"That's a lie". Conrad said.
"Look, that's not the case now..., The text message that was sent was so formal and Finley doesn't speak to me that way".
"So you think someone is using her phone to text you?". Conrad asked.
"Yeah".
"But why?".
"I just want to confirm something first before I conclude on that, I do not know for now".
"That's not a good sign especially if she has been gone for days".
A guy spoke as he sipped his drink behind two of them causing Shane and Conrad to stop talking and turn to him.
The guy sounded and looked just like the weird guy Finley met before going to Rowan's house.
"Do I know you?"
Shane asked as she turned to him with a questioning expression.
~~~~
Rowan took Finley to a neatly arranged room.
He took off the handcuffs.
Finley was still confused about what was happening, she had so many questions on her mind and she didn't know which one to ask first.
"Why do you want me to take pictures ?". Finley finally decided on what to ask.
"That's the bathroom, go in and take a bath". Rowan said.
"Where's Kali, where is she?". Finley asked.
Rowan ignored her and walked out of the room, locking the door after him.
Finley took in a deep breath as she lay down on the bed.
On the bed were clothes folded neatly on top of the other.
Hungry. Tired. Sad.
Finley can't say for sure which one she is feeling the most but most certainly she is feeling the worst right now.
As the seconds went by, Finley dozed off still lying on the bed.
As she slept she had a dream.
In her dream, she was covered in her blood.
A wild-looking animal is chewing on her flesh, she tried to move but it was as if she was paralyzed. She couldn't move, she could only whimper in pain.
"Get away from me! Somebody please help".
She managed to shout weakly. The wild animal growled as it came up close to her face, and when she could see the wild animal's face clearly, she was stunned.
It looked like Rowan.
The animal's face resembled a hundred percent, Rowan's face.
"Aahhhhh!".
Finley shouted and woke up from the dream, beads of sweat broke out from her face.
She opened her eyes slowly and noticed that she was laying on top of a bed, she was in a room different from the cell, has she escaped or was she dreaming about everything all this while? She thought.
She felt something over her, on her right side, the edge of the bed.
She raised her head and turned around.
"Ahhh!!".
Finley screamed in fear as she shifted away to the other end of the large bed.
Rowan was standing at the edge of the bed, staring at her with his hands at his back.
"Ge... Get away from me, you animal!!".
Finley stammered.
Rowan didn't even move an inch, he just stood there staring at her with a flat expression.
He didn't look angry, Finley couldn't judge anything from his expression.
