Chapter 3 - Chapter 3 - The second quest

"but before going to the starter village, you will get the rewards from completing the quest 'get a class', so you will be teleported to the character customization screen"

When he gained eyesight, he could see himself as if he were outside his body, but it looked a bit different. His skin, instead of the boring gray, was now a more vibrant red, with noticeable scales, and his head also gained horns, giving it a more dragonic appearance.

He also noticed that wherever he looked, a red, laser-like cursor followed, and when he blinked, it seemed to click. This would make sense, as he could see some buttons that could change his shape, so Igor decided to give himself bigger chest and legs.

After being happy with his character, he clicked Finish and got transported to the main server, in the beginner's village.

Immediately, he became overwhelmed by the amount of lizardmen that were in the plaza he had spawned, as he saw all sizes and colors: From shorter, dark gray players, that probably were a spy class, to gray giants, that were probably tankers that received all the damage, passing with green mysterious dudes, but he noticed no one had red scales.

Not knowing what to do, he tried entering a shop to see if he could get a quest or something, so he wandered around.

After some time, he decided to settle on a blacksmith with the name "dragon's forge". He decided to do this because of the 40% friendship bonus with dragon-related stuff, so he figured it would make sense to go there.

He entered the place, and he saw a big gray lizardman, named Zokar, who greeted him.

"uhh… hello! I don't really have anything to buy or sell, im new to this village, i just wanted to see if there was anything i could do"

"hm… you would do me a favor if you could hunt and gather 20 fireblooms and 20 salamander scales and deliver them to Thoren, in the Draco Store in my name.

QUEST RECEIVED: Gather and deliver the gift

Requirements: Deliver 20 fireblooms and 20 salamander scales to Thoren.

Reward: 1 silver and 42% friendship increase with Zokar and Thoren

[Accept] [decline]

He thought about it, thanked him and accepted the quest.

"Thank you, Largon. Come here when you finish the quest, or if you ever need any weapon or want to sell me some stuff"

Largon thought that went well, so he decided to check what to do first.

The flowers had a lot of low level magma slimes guarding them, but the salamanders were all at least level 8, and he was just level 3, although he was stronger than that, so he chose to do the fireblooms first.

Igor informed himself about them, and went to where the flowers resided, north-west of the village, and he saw a lot of hunting parties gathered trying to find members.

"Healer needed! We already have a tanker and a fighter!"

He decided he would try and solo the quest at the moment, but if that didn't go well, he would try and contact his friends that had bought the game recently to see if anyone was in the Elragon Empire.

If he tried gathering the flowers next to the meeting point, chances were that other parties would try to fight for them, so he decided to go as far as he could.

He found a spot where not too many slimes resided —only about 20 of them— that were guarding 4 flowers, and with no one in sight, he decided to fight there.

He also thought this was a great way to level up.

Igor attacked a random slime, trying to aggro them so that they would be in range of his fire breath skill, and that worked out. This was his very first time using it, but he already knew a bit about how it worked since the dragon at the tutorial had used it to him.

Instantly, all 20 slimes got hit, and their health dropped to 70%, and after waiting 20 seconds for the burns to finish, that number was 40%.

He confronted one of the slimes, that unlike the water ones, were pretty solid, and he also found out that at his current level, killing one took 2 hits, but he also got hit by a slime that caught him off guard.

He decided he didn't want to risk dying, even though it was very unlikely, but he still activated his scale armor, as he wanted to see it.

To his surprise, a semi transparent orange scaly armor appeared on him instantly, and although he did feel a bit clunky, it didn't weigh.

He attacked another slime, and managed to kill it, and he narrowly avoided an incoming attack, so he went back.

This back and forth process took Igor a full 5 minutes to finish, as he killed the last slime moments before his armor faded away, but he had leveled up to lvl 4, and he managed to get the four flowers.

He decided to invest his skill point on health.

Although it wasn't very hard, he decided it would be better if he had company, as getting only 4 flowers drained half his HP and he had to wait 2h until untill his armor skill cooldown would finish.

He logged out of the game and contacted his best friend, Fabien, that told him that of the 6 other friends that had bought the game, 2 of them were in the Norite Empire, and another 3, that were always together, were in the Varen Empire, so he was alone in the Elragon Empire.

"But that's great!"

"Why?"

"I am also a lizardman."

Igor also told him about his current quest, so they decided to join in half an hour, as 30 minutes was 2h in the game.

When they finally met, where parties were built, Fabien was impressed by his looks, as he also had not seen anyone else besides Igor who had red scales, and those who had horns were rare.

Fabien also suggested that they should add someone who knew a healing spell, as he was only a level 6 tank and they would suffer if not.

He was big, like in real life, and his scales were light gray, resembling a very diluted blue. His eyes gave strenght and confidence. He could tell why the system put them together in the Empire of force.

After a while of searching, they finally found someone who knew a healing spell, and his name was Trok.

The new guy was slim and a very dark grey, and he used a staff. He had also told them that he could give strength boosts and small healing spells.

Once they were all ready they started looking for a place to hunt.
