The next day, Fabien unexpectedly called him, as he needed some help for a quest, and he had already helped him, so he obviously agreed.
He also informed him that Tronk would join.
Fabien had been his best friend since he was 7 years old, and he knew him quite well. He was big and helpful, and he was a very good friend.
But on the other hand, they didn't know much about Tronk. He was a nice guy, and he was like that introverted kid that would get dragged into a group, but he seemed to enjoy having friends, so that was nice.
He felt like this team was pretty nice, so he decided to meet up with them to see what this mission was about.
"Hello, thanks for coming. So I recently came across a quest with a NPC I have a lot of friendships, but I don't think I can do it alone. I asked you guys if you could come, because if i didn't accept the quest i would have lost almost all my friendship, but it was already at 90% of the first level"
Igor thought about that. It seemed like a difficult situation, so it made sense to ask friends, but he was curious.
"What is the quest about?"
It was actually Tronk who asked.
"Well, the NPC needed a certain venom to make a medicine to cure his daughter, but the problem is that the easiest way to get it is by killing a level 15 spider. Fortunately, it's not the final boss of the dungeon it appears in, but it does like at the middle"
"Well, I guess let's go, we will follow you."
While we were traveling to the cave, which was a bit far, they told me that Tronk had gotten a fire/heat protection cape from the slime and Fabien had slightly better armor.
"Huh, so this is it."
It certainly emitted an ominous presence for low rankers like them, who were all under level 10, but that wouldn't stop them.
Carefully, they stepped into the cave, and while they were still transitioning to the lack of light, a small spider attacked Fabien, who was in the lead.
This attack was quickly evaded, and a well timed strike killed it, but it certainly set the mood for the whole dungeon.
Just a bit later, they found two big Level 9 spiders that were one meter tall.
"this is where the fun begins"
Tronk casted a poison resistance spell at Fabien. It was not much, only 20% resistance, but it would help, as the effects would be present for an hour, and he was the tanker after all.
Fabien aggroed the spiders, and they began shooting webs at him, which he narrowly escaped.
While the spiders were distracted by him, Igor was able to land a hit on one of them, and because of all the points he put on strength, that was able to deplete a third of its health.
Unfortunately, the other spider noticed and managed to dodge, and it tried to counterattack with one of his legs, which Igor parried. It seemed the web shooting skill had a bit of a cooldown. His suspicions became true when they attacked him.
One of the attacks landed on him, and he lost a bunch of HP, but the other became distracted by Fabien.
Tronk then proceeded to heal his teammates.
After seeing how the enemies moved, they were quickly able to set up a plan: Fabien would aggro the spiders, Largon would hit them, and maybe they would hit him back, but they would be more prepared, and Tronk would heal them.
This strategy worked, and they were able to kill them.
Next up, there were four of them, so they repeated the strategy and managed to survive.
The next spiders they encountered were level 11, and they had a venomous aura. He thought about how he didn't want to be bitten even once, but that was probably too hard.
Fabien attacked one of the three spiders, and it tried to attack with one of his venomous legs that were very pointy, but he managed to dodge it and counterattack with a strike.
This greatly angered the spiders that concentrated on him, and Largon did a big sword swipe that hit the three spiders from behind.
The duo had already dealt half the HP of the spiders, while Tronk gave them buffs and heals.
They repeated this process, but Largon was way more careful, as the spiders were now aware of him. They were also able to hit Fabien, who was losing one HP per second, as he had "venom" status.
This effect normally would last a minute, but since he had 20% resistance, he only needed to withstand 48 damage.
Even after that, they still managed to kill them, but it was starting to get to their skill cap.
Largon didn't like this dungeon, so he asked Fabien:
"How much more till we get to the spider you need?"
"well it shouldn't be a lot, since we already met
venomous spiders"
Next up was a patch of spiders like the last ones, but they were four and at level 12, instead of three at level 11.
Since the last fight had been quite difficult, they thought this one would be even more, and they were right.
They tried to do the same backstab strategy as before, but one of the spiders sensed him, so he had to dodge one of his attacks. He still was able to hit one of the spiders tho, and he dealt 25%
Fabien decided to strike again, but he wasn't able to stop one of the attacks, so the venom entered his body again. Thankfully, Largon was able to strike it while it was attacking his friend, and that would be notable as the monsters had no way to heal quickly, like Tronk's spells.
Fabien also used his fire breath, and that was almost able to defeat them, but they still had to attack them, as they had the will to live. But slowly, the spiders were taken care of.
The party then decided to rest, as they needed to regain energy and renew cooldowns. Fabien then told them that in the next room there was a mini boss, as certain dungeons were useful to raid at more than one skill level, depending on how deep you wanted to venture. After the miniboss, every monster would be around
Level 40.
The venom they needed could be gotten if they could just beat the miniboss, so after the break, the party decided to join the room.
