From there, they still had to travel a further distance to reach the college. However, it was nearly midnight, and the entire station area was deserted. Even the station master had retreated to his diminutive office, securing it for the night. Holding up a hurricane lamp, he scanned the surroundings to ensure everything was in order. Jitu was deeply concerned about how they would walk to the college, a distance of approximately three or four miles, in the midst of a dark winter night. He stood there pondering their next move when suddenly, out of the darkness, a man approached him and inquired about their destination. When Jitu mentioned the name of the college, the man responded, "I'm going a little farther, but I can drop both of you right at the college gate."
This felt like a heaven-sent blessing, and thus, tightly clutching Indu's hand, Jitu followed the kind man to a waiting car. In later years, Indu would come to realize that the "large" car in which she and Jitu squeezed among other passengers that night had been an Ambassador.
Upon arriving at the college, Jitu first lifted the tin trunk over the gate, then helped Indu over it, and finally, he himself jumped over. They then made their way towards the Superintendent's bungalow. After persistent knocking, the lady herself opened the door to her office. Initially annoyed at being awakened at such an unearthly hour, her annoyance softened upon seeing the shivering duo. She silently went inside and returned with a torch, instructing Jitu, "You may leave now." He simply nodded at Indu and, without uttering a word, retraced his steps toward the gate and the dark night. The Superintendent accompanied Indu to the college infirmary, which was temporarily designated to accommodate latecomers overnight after the holidays. As there was no extra bed available that night, she was allowed to share the bed occupied by her friend, Rani. Indu washed her feet as well as she could and settled into the warmth of the bed, where Rani reluctantly made some space for her. The contrast between the warmth of the bed after the long and cold journey and the softness of the sheets immediately struck Indu. She was suddenly reminded of her time in the village, when she would be awakened by the squealing of a piglet in the early morning.
While reminiscing about the memorable events of her journey to the village, Indu soon drifted off to sleep.
Indu was a diligent young woman who was sent to boarding school by her uncle and aunt. However, they only covered her tuition fees and did not provide her with any additional funds for necessary expenses. To address this financial challenge, Indu took the initiative to open a YouTube channel and started teaching by posting videos. Over time, her channel gained popularity, and she began earning money from it.
After completing her 12th grade, her uncle and aunt refused to continue supporting her financially, instructing her to live her own life.
